I have been going to this place for years and go there usually every weekend at some point. Since the new ownership has taken over the kitchen has gone hill dramatically. The last 4 food orders I have placed have been incorrect in some way because they don't pay attention to details. They wait times for food have also gotten increasingly longer. One night in particular they messed my order, the order to the person to the right of me and the person to the left. It's unacceptable. On the other hand the bar staff is ALWAYS fantastic and they work their butts off. I saw a special for Tuesdays upon walking in and it was 50% off appetizers, and 8.99$ burgers. No other elaboration on the sign nor did the server mention it after I ordered a burger and removed stuff from the burger. After I was charged full price I was told it says it in the menu that it's only the "build your own" burger which actually that is under the salads not even on the page with the burgers.. they did not honor the deal and then said they would remove a few dollars from the bill. The restaurant side is a little dated, the bar/ lounge side is nothing to rave about. they do have an all you can eat Italian Wednesday and in the bar they have keno. I found some prices average with some prices a little high for what you get. I am not sure I will give this place another chance. Our first visit. Fish and chips and a patty melt. But first, buffalo chicken tenders for an appetizer. Fresh. Not burnt or dry. The blue cheese came in a container, would have preferred a user friendly way to get it open, but that's ok. Extensive menu made for tough decisions. But there's always next time, right? Our waitress was very diligent in getting more napkins, water. Dinner came soon after, so close to perfection! Took home my other half of my patty melt. I'd heard good things about this spot so decided to check it out. The place is really fun to be in and there's lots to see! A bank of old fashioned PO Boxes and other cool things give it a museum-like feel. It was tastefully decorated for Autumn, too. There's ample parking, which is always a plus....AND they're open on Mondays! We were greeted and seated immediately, given a choice of lounge or dining room. We chose a cozy booth in the dining room. The service was excellent and friendly. The coffee was hot and strong - the way I like it. The menu was extensive, including a wide variety off specials, even at lunchtime. They won extra points with this non-beef eater by offering to prepare any of their burgers with a substitute Turkey burger. I decided to take advantage and ordered the Sedona Burger: Dry rub southwest spices, honey mustard bbq sauce, bacon, avocado, jack cheese, roasted poblano peppers. It also came with lettuce, tomato, red onion and was served in a toasted bun. While the bbq sauce was a bit sweet for my taste, the rest was delicious and it was a good sized Turkey burger. The accompanying fries were a highlight. And, of course, the pickle spear is always a nice addition. Apologies that I forgot to take a photo until I was halfway thru my meal. I'm a longtime Yelper who is out of practice. My date ordered the Rueben on rye. I was impressed that the bread choice included pumpernickel. He said it was very good and saved half for later. We were both too stuffed to think about dessert, but the offerings were tempting, nonetheless. Next time, for certain. There will surely be a next time! We went for Mothers Day buffet. $36.50, old Eddy must be trying to grab some quick cash on his way out!! The food straight up sucked. Search on yelp for a place nearby Ekblaw landing (kayaking) and found this gem!! While the seasonal ravioli were really good, the seafood was amazingly fresh, super flavorful (those spices were super!!) and tender! The pumpkin pie martini was original, pretty and really great too! Ask for extra cream if you don't appreciate an adult beverage (strong flavors!) We usually love this place, but Friday's visit was unsettling. First, we wanted the table we usually get, but hostess said "sorry, no, these tables saved for larger crowds." We even asked please, again, NO. She sat us in the back where we couldn't even see or play Keno, and the kitchen made two errors with our meals. Service was horrible, staff was borderline rude. Our drink order was taken, then staff left, staff returned to take our food order (without our drinks), then the drinks arrived one at a time (before, then during, and then AFTER our food). The Olde Post Office Pub in North Grafton is located just off of Route 140, with a sizeable private parking lot, and a nice sized private function room (for up to 65 guests) along Ray Street, as well as a bar area out back, besides their regular dining room. As a guest of a private function, I had the pleasure of enjoying a breakfast buffet consisting of fresh cut fruit, scrambled eggs, homefried potatoes, meat quiche, vegetable quiche, sausages, ham, mixed berry french toast, and an assortment of breakfast pastries. The closest thing to our meal that I could see on their function menu was the Breakfast Buffet $13.99 per person: Fresh Seasonal Fruit * Scrambled Eggs Honey Ham and or Sausage * Homefired Potatoes French Toast and Maple Syrup * Bagels and cream cheese or jelly Homemade muffins and tea cakes * Coffee and Tea My favorite items from the spread was the mixed berry french toast, potatoes, and the vegetable quiche. Service by our single waitress was quite responsive as I busied her with my requests for maple syrup, ketchup, tea, and a refill of water, then milk. I appreciated her calm and pleasant attitude, and noticed how she boxed the remainder cake in take-out containers after realizing that it might be a little silly to rebox the remainder cake in such a large original box. She also gathered the questionaires for the guest of honor, and did not clear plates that were still being worked on while the diner was temporarily away socializing. They offer a Breakfast Buffet on Sundays from 9am - 12:30pm, and $5.99 burgers and half priced appetizers when dining in on Tuesdays, with the purchase of a beverage. read more

This about 4th time eating at the bar. Food is always good. But. The bar service wait staff is horrendous. They did not say "hello" but rather "what would you like to drink". No smile. Very unfriendly and seem more interested in chatting amongst themselves than paying attention to the patrons. Once our food was delivered, they did not follow up to see if it was to our liking or if we needed anything additional and did not ask if we needed another drink. PO Pub has been a staple stop for us for decades - literally. We've had special occasions held here with great success and satisfaction, enjoyed breakfast with Santa, had countless lunches & dinners here. We visited very recently and honestly, nothing about our disappointment surprised us. It seems EVERYWHERE we go, things are different, corners are cut, food isn't what it once was. But prices are up. Prices are always up. And that's to be expected, but I'm, frankly, quite tired of quality going down and the PO Pub was no different. We got our standby favorite - fried chicken sandwich "our way." You can add so many toppings/customizations that it's nice to be able to make a sandwich how you want it - for a price, of course. a few strings of red onion will cost you $1.00. Literally, a few strings. The chicken used to be a very generous portion of chicken breast but not this time - both of our sandwiches were 2 pieces of chicken pieced together onto the bun. MUCH smaller than it once was (I would very often take 1/2 my sandwich home - not this time). I LOATHE the fact that they don't put prices on their drink menus for cocktails. LOATHE this. So I don't buy them. I'm not going to ask the prices and I'm also not going to be blindsided by an $18 martini at a casual pub. SO I don't bother. BIG no-no to me. Put the prices on your menu. No prices on your seasonal cocktails or your standard cocktails. I find this rude and deceiving and I don't like it AT ALL. We did have an issue with a meal at our table (wrong item was brought to the table) but it was rectified. PO Pub has changed and we had really hoped it would be one of the "classics" that would remain solid but this last experience left us feeling pretty disappointed for what we paid. read more

Potato's has black rot spot tasted 3 days old! $18 meal! Veggies should be fresh! Just awful. I'm in school so busy tried to get a decent meal a few weeks ago, a rotisserie chicken and husband dropped on floor and dogs grabbed it first. We got it away but didn't want to eat after that. Finally tried to get another meal. So tonight order $18 plus with tax turkey dinner and someone dumped a whole vat of sage in it. Stuffing is mushy and green. Inedible! What an awesome experience. Went out with 14 of my friends on our motorcycles for dinner at this fantastic restaurant. Lucky for us it was burger Tuesday. The basic burger was 799+ a different fee for each additive. They also had half-price appetizers that were wonderful. One of the guys at my table got pretzel sticks with like a honey mustard sauce and a cheddar burger. Unfortunately his burger wasn't cooked correctly so he didn't enjoy it but they did take it off the bill at the end which I thought was very nice. My other friend got a bourbon cheddar burger as well I got the loaded nachos with chili and a burger with blue cheese crumbles raw onion and bacon. It was amazing the burgers were huge they were at least a half an inch thick. With fresh bulky rolls the sides that I got were bacon, blue cheese crumbles and raw onion with lettuce and tomato everything was cut nice and fresh it looked delicious it didn't look like the vegetables been sitting there for a while like it look like it's just been cut while they were ordering our sandwiches.I also got sweet potato fries which was a dollar more. The best part was we had a few minutes to eat the nachos and pretzel sticks and then our main part of a meal came out all the burgers etc. It was really nice to have all 16 of us sitting there eating all together at the same time which is rare when you get a party our size into a restaurant typically we don't get a meal altogether and sometimes like some will be finished eating and then the last table just be getting their food that did not happen this evening everything went very smoothly right on money right on time no one waited for anything. The servers name was Julia she was constantly coming over and asking if we need more beverages more water any more napkins etc. what are the best things I found about this was that she was doing all 16 orders by her self when it came time to serve the food she did have a couple other servers in the restaurant come over and help her pass out the food plates and stuff but she was the only waitress for all of our tables that was amazing and you have done such a great job and then right on point not made any mistakes that's just such a rare thing for us on a Tuesday night but I think that she should be recognized for the great job that she did. Cool little spot I stopped by in during a road trip. Service was nice and food came fast. The vibe in the restaurant is nice: it feels like a standard bar but in a nice high ceiling space and it is covered in post office themed things. For example, the restrooms are labeled Mail and Femail. My disappointment was with the food itself: I had a sandwich with fries and my friend had some pasta, and we both felt everything was subpar. I imagine coming here for a drink would be much better, since they've got a good selection. For just food, not so much. read more

What's with all these inconsistent reviews? I actually didn't read any reviews until I got there. And that's a good thing because I might not have gone. Post Office Pub is a clean, large restaurant/bar that had an extensive menu and lots of TV's, and live music on the weekends. I saw a diverse crowd, as in ages. This is not a night club or a Jilian's. Music ends at 10:30pm. An extensive menu usually means not everything is made in house. I usually 'interpret' the menu and figure out what is fresh, and what would be okay for the price knowing that it probably isn't scratch made. I saw someone getting a salad, and it looked great. I was right! My house salad was excellent and you can add a meat item for a charge. A member in my party ordered the Bronco burger and he had great things to say. It did look good and I liked the way they put a couple onion rings on top of the burger. I tried a sweet potato fry and a French fry. While they clearly do not serve hand-cut fries, the products they use are very good with a nice crunch and they are not greasy. If you are looking for a stick-to-the-ribs soup as a nice comfort food, might I suggest the bowl of clam chowder? Again, no idea if they make it in house, but it was tasty and the bowl was deceptively deep. It was a GOOD amount of soup!! Friends got the nachos, no complaint there. In fact, I kept snacking on them even after by clam chowder belly-buster! But here is what I didn't expect. Friends ordered the stuffed mushrooms. They were quite fresh. They had not been frozen and they tasted great. Most pubs serve those frozen hockey pucks and they can be hit or miss. These are a hit! There were young adults, older adults, singles, couples, and families. I got such a kick out of several children dancing with their parents, or with each other while the music played. Then, they left early, and the dance floor filled up with regulars and the night was wonderful. Reading other reviews, someone complained about the prime rib on Friday nights. Uh, this isn't Fleming's Steakhouse, guys. As a chef myself, I can tell you that a steakhouse will do prime rib differently than a local place that roasts the meat one day a week. The cut will be different, you won't be able to get your end piece by request, many other factors. But you are not paying Fleming's prices either. Use your head. Another review said something about the place not being in Worcester. I'm kind of glad it isn't in Worcester. And how the hell is the owner supposed to handle that kind of complaint?! I suggest you interpret the reviews as well. This is a big place and I have to say, we are in a food service personnel shortage right now affecting all businesses. They have a good staff and take care of a lot of people. Just don't order chateaubriand at a place like this, and I think you'll enjoy your meal. And there's music with no cover charge.
