Steak tips, not medium rare but well done :(

The golf course restaurant has great food options, great drinks, is very reasonably priced and the patio has a lovely view. The fried pickles, onion strings, burger, salad (white balsamic is a fantastic dressing!) and chicken sandwich are all delicious. The steak tips have potential, but after ordering them twice, I still haven't gotten them the temperature I ordered. I mean does this look medium rare? It's well done! That's a huge and very disappointing difference, and if these were actually medium rare they would've been quite tasty. Unfortunately this was takeout so I couldn't passive aggressively line them up on my plate to illustrate how overcooked these were. I'll try once more, but they might be getting a meat thermometer from a secret Santa.

    Lobstah Cobb Salad!

We arrived at 7pm on a Friday night and met by a friendly hostess who escorted us to a small dining area overlooking the golf course and patio dining area. We started with spinach and artichoke dip which was excellent (but perhaps needed a bit more salt) I opted for the lobster Cobb salad and my girlfriend went for the shrimp scampi. Both dishes were creative, flavorful and well executed. Service was courteous and attentive and the price was reasonable. My only complaint was that by 8pm the small dining area had become quite busy and the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation with my lovely date. With two sangrias the bill came to $53.

Food is excellent. Waitresses not attentive. They spend too much time talking to each other.

What a great find! Solid beer here, their NEIPA was excellent! We had the Buffalo cauliflower and…read morea sausage ricotta pizza, both were darn good. The pizza was cooked perfectly except for one slice, it wasn't raw or anything but it could have used a little more time. Overall we really enjoyed it! Our server was on top of everything, fast and friendly! Fresh decor and an amazing outdoor area! Giving 5 stars, more like 4.5 but I'll round up. Definitely worth a stop to Cold Harbor!!

Got there on a Thursday at 5:30 and could barely park it was so full. I was worried about a big wait but it turns out there was a party in their back room space (that looked amazing BTW). We were greeted and seated right away and our server Olivia T came right over. She never stopped hustling the whole night! Beer was still great, one click off the big boys but noble contenders in the mass beer game. The food was, quite honestly, nothing to look at but the flavor was pretty good. The avocado on the turkey burger looked like it came out of a bottle, but it tasted great. The corn salsa on the burger was also delicious, just wished there was a tiny bit more. Overall, it was another great visit only this time in a wonderful new space.

I cant believe that I am actually writing a review for Ground Round. The last time that I was in…read moreone, Yelp didn't exist. So, when a good friend called and told me that there was a new one that opened in Shrewsbury, it was off to the races. I had to experience this. Service: We got seated nearly instantaneously when we got in the door and the place was already quite busy by the time that we got there. My friend got a salad of some sort with a sandwich and I got one of their signature burgers. The waitress appeared in a timely fashion, took the orders, had drinks on the table in no time, and was very attentive to any and all needs. Ambiance: It was on a Saturday during sports season, so there was a lot of noise and chaos going on, but that is always how I remembered the Ground Round. It is NOT a restaurant that you are going to read a good book in. The fact that this restaurant also had high cathedral ceilings which increased the acoustics, made it a little more unbearable for people who like quieter spots. But to me and my friend, it was not a dealbreaker. Food: After all, what were we doing there for anyways, but the food? It was very good. She enjoyed her dish, and my burger was actually one of those "skyscraper" burgers that are impossible to grip with two hands or get into your mouth for a bite. After dining at the Ground Round again, I am moderately confident that I could take a bite out of the Prudential Center if the need arose. Don't get me wrong, the burger was tasty, juicy, and done to perfection, but it was yuuuuge. Overall, if I could give the Ground Round a 1/2 a star I would make my rating of them a 4 and a 1/2 stars venue. I will definitely be back and look forward to meeting my friend there again for lunch. :) -S

First timer visit to Ground Round in Shrewsbury. I got to say it didn't live up to my expectations…read more It was a recent Thursday evening; I walked in at 8pm and immediately had a bad feeling. First, the place was DEAD, aside from several patrons in the bar area; about the same in the dining room. I noticed the lighting was off, way off; it's like the kind hazy fluorescent lighting that gives you a migraine. Second, the music playing was barely audible; I would expect to hear really good nostalgic music from the 70s & 80s (you know what would make this place fun??? A JUKEBOX!!!). I ordered the Ground Rounder and was disappointed; I don't like cheese and it came with cheese; I wish the server asked if I wanted cheese; I know, I know, the description on the menu says it comes with cheese; my bad BUT I don't like cheese on my burger. I wish it came on a sesame bun or bulky roll; the pretzel roll just sucks IMHO. Also, please remember the old time Ground Rounder came with Steak Fries back in the day; today, this one comes with grease-sticks -- stubby reconstituted dehydrated potatoes formed to resemble French fries which wick the grease from the Fryolator, UGH! For the burger, I prefer lettuce, tomato and onion over cheese and bacon any day of the week. The service was good, which is the only reason I gave my review 2 stars. Overall, a disappointment, but with some tweaks it might have a chance. As is, it's not going to be around very long. Please please please rectify the suggestions outlined above and I'll reconsider coming back. I'm sorry, but until then I can't recommend to my friends.
