The guy asked if I had been there before and I said yes (because I had sent a certified letter there). He responded in a VERY RUDE TONE "I have told you several times to drop it over there!!!". I said I wanted a receipt And he said "we don't do receipts ". He then glared me until I put it in the bag. I told him there was no reason to be rude and walked off. Rudest customer service I've ever endured! The Asian guy who works there I believe is the owner but he ignored my question when I asked him that! My 10 year old daughter needed a passport photo and she was a little giddy & silly as she prepared to take the photo and he all of a sudden sternly, rudely said to us "Come back in 10 minutes!" And pointed for us to leave. We were so confused asking why do we need to leave and come back. He said "This sort of joking around is not allowed here!!!" All she was doing was smiling with teeth and a slight giggle or two. She's 10 and had never done this sort of photo session. He then told her no teeth allowed and when she accidentally smiled with teeth again he gave us the same "Come back in 10 minutes!!" pointing us to leave. Unbelievable! The picture ended up being taken, is a terrible photo of her looking upset and confused and cost way more than other places that provide the same service with humane customer service! I have been a customer here for 25 years. I rely on them daily. I have a postal box for my business and I can go there and grab my packages, do my dry cleaning, shop at ralphs and go to the bank at the same time! It's super convenient. The people there are very nice and helpful. Often I bring in packages to send out and I have no clue how to send them properly and they package it all up, offer me choices on pricing and show me what my other options are like certifying the packages. Sometimes I am forced to use other postal annex stores because I need something like in South Bay, and you can't compare the people there. For example, I needed 5 of the Y11 keys and they said they didn't know what that key is. However, it's the most popular key in the world! I brought the keys in for them to cut because I had some on me. All they did was cut blank keys. They charged me $5 per key as if they were supplying the keys, and then they charged me sales tax, which is illegal to tax me on labor only! The La Jolla location is best! They are friendly and always there to answer your questions and help you! read more

Came here to drop off an envelope because I was shopping at Ralph's. Asked the guy if I was okay to drop it off in the "outgoing mail" slot, and he says, "You can go to the post office across the street." And I said, "well can I drop it off here?" And he says, "Why did you hesitate to drop it into the slot?" And I said "Well I was just asking to double check because I've never dropped off here before." If there were no stars i would give this place that! Both the man and woman are super rude and unhelpful. I walked in asking if i could drop off a USPS package and he just pointed to the bin. I then asked if i could have some tape and he said "go to the post office" as i saw tape on the desk. I said "this is the 2nd interaction i have with this business and both of you are so rude!" He said "i dont care!" I said "where can i put in a complaint?" He said "im the owner and i dont care!" I was directed here by UPS on 8/25/22 to drop off a package for a return. The incredibly surly employee simply told me that no, this was not a UPS center, literally as he stood directly in front of a large sign that said "UPS CENTER." I asked him why both the UPS website and sign behind him would say it was a UPS center if this postal annex is not affiliated with UPS. He literally didn't even answer, he just shrugged then walked away into another room, leaving the entire store empty. This is a bad place that hires bad people. Instead I went to the UPS store at 7770 Regents road, where they were friendly and helpful in completing my UPS drop-off. read more

I just was asking how many stamps my greeting card needed and he refused to tell me, made me buy $20 worth of stamps, I ask for a third time how many stamps my envelope needs and he again refused to answer my question but basically calls me stupid for buying $20 worth of stamps when he could have sold me the amount my envelope needs. so I ask again how many stamps. he again doesn't tell me and walks away from me. Worst mail place I ever been to. The business owner is a total scumbag! I asked for a piece of Tape to close my package and he tells me sorry you have to buy a tape. Charles is extremely rude. I dropped off a USPS return and asked for a receipt. He rudely said they don't provide that. I still reluctantly left the package there since the nearby post office was closed for renovations. I tracked the return and after a week it still showed "Label Created, not yet in system," so I went back to ask about it. He kept saying the mailman picks it up everyday. Had to wait for service and when he finally did get up and come over, Charles acted like it was too much trouble to talk to me. He didn't like the way my package was taped and got increasingly rude and frustrated as I was trying to ask for clarification and explain that I had been told something different when given instructions to ship this item. He kept saying he wasn't Amazon or UPS and then walked away from me. I did not shout or behave badly, though I did press him for better instructions that he was unwilling to give. Try to avoid this place. Just went to TRY to drop off a package. There's a sign that says they can tape up your package and prepare it for a convenience fee. The clerk said they would not take it if it wasn't ready to go despite the sign saying they could. When I asked if I could buy tape to prepare the package, he would not sell the tape and redirected me to aisle three in Ralph's saying the tape was cheaper there. I had already seen that packaging tape was 7$ there for an excessive quantity that I didn't need, so I told him I would just prefer to pay the 5$ for the smaller tape. He still would not sell me the tape. I am at a loss for what to do. Take down the sign if you aren't going to sell your services. read more

This place is not worth it. The Place- is convenient, that's it. The Service- The angry Asian woman who runs the place (well she cuts the keys and is always there...) is RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!! Had multiple keys cut here before I realized keys not working is NOT a normal result of getting duplicates made... Actual postal services work, but why put up with that woman's ATTITUDE and blatant disregard for customers service/satisfaction? This also goes for the dry cleaning/alterations service they run out of the same corner. Recommendation- for keys, just go to Home Depot or Walmart, much more reliable, save you the return trips and money. And there's a Postal Annex on Governor too- maybe the other employees here are better, but... Or just don't do business there when you see That Woman behind the counter. read more

Pretty convenient considering the variety of services they offer and the fact that it's never crowded. Much better than Kinko's during busy hours. A while ago I had terrible service here but 4 stars for improvement because the guys working there now are chill and very helpful. You can ship regular mail, UPS, and FedEx which is nice. They do copies, faxes, printing, and notary public services too. I'm not crazy about having to come here but every time I've been in a jam with work stuff they have helped me figure it out pretty quickly. They are laid back and play pretty good music here too. Totally let down. Charged $12 more than the regular USPS and said my international priority mail will be delivered within a week. Now, 2 weeks after, my sister still did not receive the mail. The postal employees here are very friendly and nice, but if you ever want to mail something out during your lunch break or any other time of the day, be prepared to wait in line forever. I know government run facilities like the DMV are inefficient, but come on! I'm not sure why the employees here are extremely slow at doing their job. Maybe because they try to chat up a storm. And sometimes right when you are about to go up to the counter, they put a closed sign in front of you. Snack break, WTF?! Dude, I just want to send my package out. If you want to get anything done without any chit chat, then go to the UCSD Postal Office inside Price Center East. It's so much faster and efficient. What else is creepy about this place? They have post office boxes so you have weirdos coming in at all odd hours of the night. They also always seem to get magazines as mail. Magazines wrapped in dark navy blue plastic. Never thought I'd be writing a review for a post office but here I am.  The employees here are some of the nicest people who answer questions without an attitude, they explain everything carefully, and work efficiently as a team. I can honestly say this is the only post office I've ever been to where my errand runs smoothly.  That type of customer service is what keeps people coming back to particular locations. They were able to make a decision outside of the box and help out a fellow business person here in La Jolla helping me save my day. This place is also a dry cleaner for some reason but maybe they should just focus on one type of business and do it right. When I walk up the worker is always sitting near the back on their phone and it takes some time to get their attention, but my biggest complaint is about the prices. I dropped off a $7.24 flat rate USPS box to ship and this place tacked on an additional four dollars to send it out for me. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Shop and mail out at Ralphs is nice...but service is horrible. I have nothing against asian people but when i cant understand half of what they are saying and they can understand what i'm saying..there's a problem! I had to show the man helping me the address I wanted it sent to and even then he got it wrong. He read the address back to me and said it right but then my package never arrived. When i tried calling them it took me about 2 emails and 20some calls to hear back from them. To top it off...he had no clue what i was telling him... it was like a guessing game. Horrible! Avoid this for UPS drop off. They do not provide any confirmation of receipt of your item. I brought a pre-labeled item for return to Amazon via UPS and they would not scan or offer any kind of receipt as proof that my item was dropped off. The male told me I could take it elsewhere if I wanted confirmation. The other UPS drop-off locations were very much out of the way, so I trusted that his blind faith in his system should suffice for me. The return took almost 2 weeks before Amazon received it! Wow! This business should not be allowed to accept packages unless they are able to provide proof, a customer deserves protection when entrusting their valuable goods. read more

I am absolutely speechless over the way the owner (korean man)treats people. I have been there 2x now and he's one of the rudest people in customer service I've ever encountered in my 36 years. Last time I asked him for a receipt as proof of dropping it off/ tracking and he said "I don't have time" and walked into the back never to be seen again! Mind you I was the only person in line. The second time I visited, I had a pre paid label and he simply threw it in a huge pile and walked away, completely ignoring me when I again asked for a receipt and got on the phone while I was still standing there! Ran into the same issue with presumably Charles today, where he flatly refused to provide a receipt for packages being dropped off. I told him Store #1 on Governor Drive, where the Jane used to work always provided a receipt. His message is the package carries make mistakes and then he's responsible for the packages. He also suggested I just leave packages on the counter when he is in back. This guy also has wanted to charge me a dollar to tape closed a package being dropped off - very poor customer care. I would have gone to store #1, which is near to me and Jane, who started the business, but it had closed. While I will continue to shop at Ralph's, which this Postal Annex store is within, I will not be recommending this particular one, based on service I have received today and previously, no will I be giving another chance anytime soon. read more
