This postal annex is in a really nice area of Evergreen, next to the New Seasons Market. The Postal Annex is really clean and the employees are friendly and efficient. They even have plastic sheeting hanging down for covid protection. They could use more parking directly in front of the store, but the curb is yellow for pickup and drop off. We've had our PO Box here for years with them now. Recently moved back from SF and I would only be able to pick up mail maybe once a month or every 2 months and they didn't complain about the mail being piled up. Super convenient to have packages mailed and signed there because I'm not at home most of the time and even though I always forget my mailbox key, they get it for me. Small store, but it has everything I need anyways. I typically come here for my drop offs and to mail packages every once in awhile. They have all your basic needs: envelopes, tape, stuffing... Etc. The first time I came in the manager was very patient with me. I wanted to know every single price from each carrier and the days it would take to ship. She didn't give me any kind of attitude. This place has a deceptive Jekyll & Hyde personality due to the customer service. There are two people that work here, usually at separate times. One is Howie, who is very friendly, professional and efficient. He will go above and beyond to meet your shipping needs at the cheapest rates. The other is a mustached man, name unknown, who moves in slow motion, talks on the phone for 10 minutes while you wait right in front of him, lies about the cheapest rates in order to get you to buy his packaging, and as icing on the cake has an arrogant, albeit dimwitted, attitude. This place doesn't even deserve one star. I went in to drop two prepaid UPS packages off to a gentleman that moves slower than a turtle and has a personailty like a four day old sprite.... FLAT. As I handed him the packages he informed me that UPS had already picked up for the day, ok NBD. He then proceeds to tell me that it will cost ME $2.00 to drop the prepaid UPS packages off!! Are you kidding me? I asked him "for what" I seriosuly doubt UPS charges you to pick up? He said in ssslllooowww motion "it's a handling fee", again I said FOR WHAT. For you touching the package to put them in a bin? NO THANKS! I went down the street to AIM.... no fee there and super friendly. One way to drive business down the street. Very deceptive place. FIrst of all, they don't really list pricing for various items, and shipping costs, especially the surcharges. It makes it hard to know whether some charges are legitimate or not. I dropped off some mail and a package, and the guy didn't charge me for the USPS mail, but charged a couple bucks for the UPS package, pre-paid return label. And he didn't even tell me about the surcharge or add a disclaimers until he took the package behind the counter. Whatever, I needed to send it off, but I'll never go back for repeat service. I remember before that I tried to mail a $4.95 USPS Priority Flat Rate Box, and was being charged more than $4.95 to ship it. More understandable since that's how they probably make money, but charging for just a drop-off? seriously. Just find the real UPS or FedEx store, or just go to the post office. It's worth the small drive. read more

This place fills the bill. If you need to send stuff, get a mailbox or buy some basic supplies, they've got it. Yes, it could use a spruce up. The packaging for some items on the pegs is faded and there's a rental PC in the corner which might well be from the 1990s. Still, that doesn't stand in the way of the core services or the friendly staff--which I believe is just the one guy--so don't be shy and stop in. read more

The owner of this place is amazing. I came in to ship out a package, and I told the owner that I didn't really know how to properly address it. He told me exactly how it goes in the nicest way. These guys are great and always so helpful. Every time I go in they always give me personal attention with a smile. I usually am clueless as what I need to do so they walk me through each step. I came in here today to drop off a prepaid package. My printer was low on ink, so I asked the very helpful lady behind the counter if she could check if it would scan properly. She kindly obliged, and thank goodness she did, bc it wouldn't scan. She let me know that she could reprint the label for me (which she did) and patiently helped me do so from her computer. It would be nice if Yelp could reset the 'odometer' when a business is under new ownership...as all of the reviews prior to 2014 are attributable to the former owners. I've had nothing but a positive experience from this Postal Annex. Everyone here is competent, has a great attitude and works efficiently. My calls are always answered promptly and mailbox contents verified in a quickness. Also, if you're looking to use a mailbox within the City of San Jose for business purposes, this upscale Evergreen address will give a far better impression to your customers, than anything offered by the competition. read more

Called beforehand, the woman who answered was kind and helpful with providing options for my EBay USPS shipment. Went to the store with a rather large pillow and was politely greeted by Elvie. He was apprehensive about my item because of its size, but he quickly found a solution and I was able to ship it out. I usually come to PA this location for convenience but no more. The problem I have is that the return address is not my home address and that confuses my present recipients. The front desk staff does not seem to care or understand, next time I am taking a little more trouble and going to post office, and it is less expensive there. For how much we pay for shipping from PA I expect better service. read more

The guy here (La Verne or somthing like that) is not at all friendly. He has a weird attitude and makes you feel as if you are bothering him. Very unpleasant to do business with this place. I recently had an excellent experience with this Postal Annex. I needed to send a set of 16 fragile dishes to Alaska, and was nervous about it. I had called ahead and learned about their procedures and the best delivery option for me. I brought the dishes in and Miranda helped me. She explained their packing technique, and I watched as she carefully and professionally wrapped each piece and packed them in the boxes (I requested they be sent in two boxes) using packing material to cushion each piece. I felt confident with her expertise. She absolutely knew what she was doing and was very kind and understanding about my nervousness. Today I learned that the dishes arrived safely and intact! The postal stuff is good.... but they have a container out with candy and they were giving my daughter a ugly look and she said is your dad ok with that? And I didn't mind that but then she said you can only get one piece. It's like why do you have it out there if you don't let them get candy... what if you got food and I said you can only get 1 fork! In case you have not visited this Postal Annex lately, you should. The new owners and their staff (who are all very knowledgeable) are definitely a cut above when it comes to professionalism and are amazingly helpful. They have transformed this business from a dingy and unappealing atmosphere into a sparkling and welcoming place to do business. It is truly a pleasure to walk in there at any time of the day. You are always greeted and helped. In addition, they have added Le Boutique, which has unique gifts. So, if the staff is busy when you enter, you can always look around at the lovely items for sale. Well-run, dependable operation. I once had two return packages to send to Amazon with the same return auth number. The manager (man pictured above) told me I needed to send the packages on different days. He put one of the packages in the UPS truck while I was there, held on to the other package and sent it in the UPS truck the next day. I was mightily impressed. Have returned many a Zappos and Amazon package with them, they will generate a receipt when requested. Never had a problem. They even have a place to send letters and etc through the USPS - never a problem with that either. Dependable. read more

The store is clean and well kept. It is situated in a convenient location. They offer FEDEX and UPS shipping close to home, so this is a definite plus. The kind lady at this PostalAnnex was friendly and quickly addressed my needs. A big plus for me as I periodically ship through UPS for business purposes. I would like to see more effort from the tall gentlemen though. Perhaps he was having a bad day, tired, wasn't feeling well, or this is just his personality. It was rather unwelcoming, as if he recently attended a funeral. I certainly hope that this business does well. I'll just go elsewhere for now. read more
