We've visited this place for lunch several times and it has always been fantastic. We're eager to try dinner here since the menu changes. We recently recommended it to our friends for dinner, and they rated it a perfect 10. The menu may be small, but it packs a punch. Everything is fresh, local, and bursting with flavor. The salads feature dressings so good I wish they were bottled. The fried chicken sandwich is the best I've ever had. I was lucky enough to grab a last minute reservation for the hubster and I to enjoy a early lunch at Postero the other weekend. The ambience is calming and beautiful, a perfectly decorated open floor plan restaurant for cozy dining. There are hidden dinosaurs throughout, so while you wait see how many you can find! The hubster loved the fried catfish. He says it was very light and flaky. It had delicious flavor and was the best catfish he has ever had! That's a huge compliment from a Southern Georgia boy! He was so impressed that he had to compliment the chef to let her know how amazed he was at the simple dish. read more

The inside is super cool, the building was an old bank built in the 1920s. Open kitchen concept was nice to see. Excellent service, very nice selection of wine and high end bourbons (Weller12, Blantons, EHT SiB). They food was cooked to perfection. I wish I would have asked what creole ratatouille was before ordering the chicken as it wasn't to my palate. Despite that, I can't recommend this place enough! This is the best place to eat in Hendersonville - and that is saying something. If you live in Kenmure, then you are already familiar with the chef's skills. If you are not, then get over to Postero and get familiar. We covered almost the whole menu. My side had the Cobia, and it was almost better than my dish. Dad had the steak, and he gave me the last two bites. I cut them with the side of my fork they were so tender. Mom had the lamb, and made me take a bite. Who knew I like lamb?? I think I have tried it twice and did not enjoy it either time. This was amazing. The Aromatic Demi-Glace had a hint of pepper and had just a little bite to it that brought the whole thing home. I had the Pan Seared Scallops, Corn, Potato and Summer Squash Chowder, Crispy Pancetta, Scallions and it was among the best I have ever had. It was so good I asked for bread to clean my plate, and they brought amazing plate of pieces of brioche with a miso butter. The bread is made fresh just down the street. If you like Old fashions then try the one here. Templeton Rye, Simple Syrup, Cherry Juice, Bitters. It started out a little on the "too sweet" side but it comes with one of those giant ice cubes. We came with a group of 6, which can be challenging for a server. The restaurant has a wonderful rustic atmosphere, with subdued lighting. The staff were professional and very ķnowledgable about the menu items. Libations were plentiful and varied. We were in the "neighborhood" after hiking trails of the Blue Ridge Parkway... we spent several nights and had a number of good meals in Asheville but decided to head to Hendersonville on a whim. Loved this place - just had apps and drinks... but a complete thumbs up great experience. There was an hour wait for a table but we snagged a bar table right away. We really enjoyed the charcuterie board, but thought the goat cheese & beet tartine was really the standout. We had their featured Old Fashioneds for cocktails. They were good. Make a reservation for this place, no really it's soo good you want to make sure you can get in! I visited this restaurant while traveling in Asheville. We had decided to stay a little outside of the city and this cute town was just the spot. We came to Posteto after a long day of viewing the Biltmore Estate, and we were famished. When I sat down with my group we all looked at each other and said do we want to go hard at this restaurant and order everything that we could possibly want? And the answer was a quick yes. We were seated upstairs which allowed us to see into the kitchen, which was a neat view. Our waiter was wonderful and got us started with some amazing drinks. I had the Free Bird, which had rosemary in it and was so refreshing you could not taste the alcohol. Other's in my group sampled their multitude of beers. We ordered the pork belly macaroni and cheese for our starter, eating it was a holy experience. We each had a different main which allowed to try half of the menu, not one person said their food was anything less than amazing. Finally we had the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, it literally changed our lives. Please go eat here and have your lives changed as well. read more

I had a lovely vacation visiting a long time friend which was capped off with dinner at Postero. Had a lovely experience here. The food was top notch, our server was helpful and efficient, the overall ambiance was chill and relaxed. Please be careful when ordering cocktails as they are well balanced and quite easy to drink. We ordered Bad Moon Rising (me) and Ginger Ninja (my friend). Both were delish. The crispy Brussels sprouts were a great start to our meal - perfectly cooked, the brown sugar mustard glaze was flavorful with the right notes of sweet & sour. We both ordered the steak. My friend had been here previously and highly recommended it. She was spot on in her recommendation. One point I will note, I asked for medium rare and it was done to medium. Small quibble as the steak was delicious and still tender. I didn't want the bok choy that was the accompaniment that evening and was able to substitute the griddled brioche and whoa was that bread utterly delicious. The soy butter added just the right touch of something special and I ate all of it. The potato terrine was also quite good, but needed a touch more seasoning for my taste. As with all of this, taste is such a personal thing and my comment on this is meant in no to way to diminish how wonderful this meal experience was. We were both so full that dessert wasn't an option, but that's the bargain one makes when ordering - it's often either an appetizer or dessert choice that must be made because both is too much. We also noticed a few little surprises along a theme sprinkled throughout the restaurant decor, which I will not name, that we found delightful. My wife and I ate at Postero in Hendersonville, last week. As we frequently do, we sat at the bar and the bar tender was great. Bethany had a whiskey sour and it was gooood! I had a glass of Pinot Grigio...also good. We had the brussel sprouts as an appetizer....if you like brussel sprouts, this is a good place to start. I didn't lick the bowl when we were through but I thought about it. For entrees, we had the redfish and the shrimp cacio y pepe. The redfish had two nice filets in a bowl with root vegetables, mushrooms, lemongrass and green cabbage. There wasn't much left! The shrimp came with pasta that had fresh parmesan and black pepper. I was in heaven. Awesome recipe. This was a rare occasion where we truly did not have room for dessert. However, the dessert menu has several, interesting options that we'll consider on our next visit. If you're planning to visit Hendersonville, NC, we both suggest you plan a visit to Postero restaurant...but make sure you have a reservation...or don't mind sitting at the bar...and that is a good option! read more

First off- GET A RESERVATION! They have a very small menu which is why I deducted a star. There isn't much to choose from but what they do- they do well! At out table of 6- FIVE got the Shrimp Scampi.DELISH! The 6th got a salmon option and said it was "Good" but not great. Second time I went table of 3- TWO got the scampi. The third got a steak option and loved it. Verdict- if you are in the mood for a killer shrimp scampi- this is your JAM! But again- get a reservation! read more

Postero is one of our two favorite restaurants in Hendersonville. We went there for my wife's birthday last week, and as usual, they knocked it out of the park. The food is always amazing, as is the service. They went out of their way to make my wife's birthday special. We started with the squash fritters, and they were sinfully good. We also tried their homemade chips because we hadn't yet tried them. While we don't typically like BBQ-flavored chips, these were very good. However, the accompanying whipped blue cheese "dip" is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It is slightly tangy, pillowy, and divine. You could put that on a turd, and I would likely eat it. For our entrees, my wife had the salmon, and she loved it. I had the Shrimp "Scampi"-Cacio e Pepe. It has become my go-to dish. The shrimp are perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice, and the pasta is so creamy. The sauce is incredible. I have had many amazing dishes at Postero, but it is difficult not to choose this particular dish. Their desserts are also excellent. The food is priced a little on the high side, and there is an added service charge to every bill, which can catch the unknowing customer off guard. Although, it is clearly spelled out on their menu. This fee is used to pay their team a livable wage. It shows in the level of service that they provide. Watching their kitchen staff operate is like watching a well-choreographed dance production. There is little turnover of staff, and the entire staff seems happy to be there, unlike many other area restaurants. I, for one, am happy to pay the fee and feel like the overall experience is well worth the cost. We will continue to be loyal customers. In a world that seems devoid of anything resembling customer service, Postero has it in spades! PS- The bartender makes a mean old fashion as well! read more

I can't believe I didn't review this excellent place on my first visit. We returned yesterday and liked it so much we went back for lunch before leaving Hendersonville. Also can't believe I didn't take any food pics, either meal. We had such excellent food and beverages. Loved the ribs appetizer-- the sides with the ribs were so tasty and all went together so well. We had our full meal consisting of sides and apps-- the tuna tartare, ribs, pear salad (we added a steak to that), and sweet potato bisque.....all so tasty. Topped with some excellent cocktails and finished with the superb chocolate pot with sea salt and caramel. Went back to eat and get another pot of that heavenly chocolate. Prefaced it with a great chicken sandwich. Partner had the big burger-- I didn't taste it but it sure was BIG and she said it was scrumptious. Oh my GOODNESS! The quality of the food we got was amazing. We came here for a celebration and we noticed first off that the place was dolled up so beautifully for the holidays. We are upstairs and it felt a little quieter up there which we were happy about. Our server had a Mario/Luigi 'stache (sorry I can't remember your name) and he was very informative and had good recommendations to go with everything. We honestly came here because Omni was super packed, but we were blown away by trying this place out. Only complaint I had was the food took a little while to get to us, but good company helped the time go by :) read more

We ventured out of Asheville and boy, we are glad we did. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and had great recommendations in the menu. We started with the pork belly Mac and cheese which was very flavorful. I had the shrimp scampi and the flavor was bold and amazing on the pasta, but the shrimp itself was a little bland.
