Postino (wine bar) is a regional chain that started in the Phoenix area. Locations have expanded to Denver and Houston. In Denver, there two open locations - one in LoHi (17th and Tejon) and one in the former gay bar "The Compound" off of 1st and Broadway. Another location is opening at 8th and Colorado Blvd. near Trader Joes. I have not been able to dine at any of these locations; however, I recently was able to partake in a bulk delivery drop for residents at the apartments where I work. A discounted menu had been created for this bulk delivery. The menu offers appetizers and smaller plates. The menu is broken down into categories called "Snacky Things and Boards", "Salads", and "Paninis". They also have several bottles of wine to choose from for $15. We tried the "skewers" which consisted of two meat skewers, one was petite filet and the other chicken. They came with Sicilian garlic yogurt and olive oil. They were "OK", but the textures were a little off. ($12.75) For a salad we chose the "Raspberry Chicken" which was an organic chicken salad with pecans, apples, gorgonzola and mayo with mixed greens and raspberry vinaigrette on the side. It was fresh and creamy! ($11.75) This would be perfect inside of a croissant. =) The best thing we had was the bruschetta. Remember to pronounce this "broo-skeh-tuh", which is rarely done correctly. You are asked to choose four different types of bruschetta for one order. We tried the "Sweet and Spicy Pepper Jam with Goat Cheese", "Burrata, Bacon, Arugula and Tomato", "Warm Artichoke Spread", and "Roasted Peppers with Goat Cheese". The two goat cheese options were our personal favorites. Other choices available include: "Brie and Apples with Fig Spread", "Prosciutto with Figs and Mascarpone", "Ricotta with Dates and Pistachios", "Salami with Pesto", "Almond Hummus & Chopped Tomato", "Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil", and "Smoke Salmon & Pesto". This along with one of their bottles of wine is only $25. I think it would be fun to dine-in for a light meal or before a night-out once the world opens up again, even to give homage to the late "Compound"...if those walls could talk! read more

Really busy and really loud, service was slow to middling. Came in 10 minutes before the end of happy hour, stated that I wanted to order something for happy hour, and then was ghosted by my waiter until about 15 minutes after happy hour concluded. But oh, that bruschetta. It stole my heart! I will put up with a lot to eat toast like that. Really fantastic boards as well with a nice variety, some of which are a little outside of the norm. Not being from this area, we asked several people on the street where to go for dinner and all replied Postino's. Our server, Marissa, was the epitome of what quality service is all about. We talked about the neighborhood, food choices, and wine selection with her and she maintained such a pleasant professional demeanor. She even comped our dessert for us as it was such a pleasant experience. The food was fabulous. We decided on the bruschetta plate with salmon and pesto; marscapone and mushroom; Burrata, bacon and tomato; and the apple, fig jam, Brie combo. All were suggested by Marissa as either personal favorites or popular orders. We accompanied our bruschetta with a bowl of potato leek soup which also did not disappoint. Loved the cubed potato pieces! Not wanting to miss out, we ordered the ice cream and chocolate dessert that was so decadent! Marissa also was helpful in pairing a wine with our meal. This was my first time visiting this location of Postino. They did an incredible job with the location and I thought they had ample seating especially since this Friday night it was BUSY. some girlfriends and I did the happy hour from 3-5 and it was awesome. Great drink deals highly recommend! The only strange factor was that all of the servers changed up every five minutes so we never really knew who to call on for service. It was fine because service was relatively quick but it still was weird not having one person. My one star review however is for the fact that we were pushed out of our booth by a waitress. One of the girls I was sitting with...we stayed an additional hour to chat and ordered another beer each for that hour. Everything up until this moment was fine but then a random waitress came over to tell us our particular table had a reservation on it within ten minutes so we had no choice but to leave. Let me add that my friend and I have common sense and know when a server is trying to get ppl to leave a table because they want more guests aka more tip and that at some point it is only right to leave the table if you're no longer paying for food or drinks. But when you don't have ONE server for a table to collect tip this method goes out the window and there's no chance that OUR table was reserved. Not once did any of the 20 servers give us the little runaround of trying to kick us out But instead we get told our table is reserved and the new guests are arriving in ten minutes. This is such a cute location with fun seating. The staff is very friendly. My waiter recommended the Moscato and he was right, it was unlike any I had tried before. So yummy with hints of pineapple!
