Got the Turkey and Swiss and avocado with extra cheese and extra lettuce on wheat bread. The smaller 8" size. Line was long during midday midweek. But it was a well-oiled machine getting people through it. Someone took the order on an iPad while you waited in line and then when you got to the counter you said your additional items to add. Pretty awesome sandwich. Bread was warm and perfect crustiness. Insides per my preferences. Would have liked more water (vita water!) and chip choices (cheese potato chips!). Could be my go-to airport sandwich!

This Potbelly is located along a main artery of foot traffic in Concourse D, which is good for business, but also poses potential problems for efficient management of food orders. And it is in this area that this establishment shines. Their operation is very well run with different people taking, making, and receiving payment for orders such that the line moves smoothly in sync with food preparation, resulting in minimal frustration (and, of course, nicely toasted sandwiches). As for those sandwiches, they are what you would expect from any Potbelly (which is to say that they were good). I got a Mediterranean (minus peppers and cucumbers, plus avocado) and my gf got an Italian (we maintained regional consistency). Both were delish (and the Mediterranean has a nice little kick that I quite liked).

Bag of cookies from the airport Potbelly Sandwich Shop still eating them the day after coming home.

Wow, these employees work hard and are stellar in the rush of the busiest time of the year, the food was great especially the eggnog milkshake, they rocked the speed and customer service under pressure, hats off! And thank you.

Great food as always. The service is good and as always the potbelly ambiance is A+. Great place to go before a flight

Mediterranean Flat. Nice option for breakfast

3 1/2 stars For the price, Potbelly is not a bad option for airport food. There are three 2-seat tables and a long bar. We had some time so 14 year old and I perused the breakfast menus at some of the more upscale places in terminal D. Both Bar Symon and and Bistro Atelier had table service and bigger breakfast menus, but both had terrible reviews and I really did not feel like spending a lot for breakfast. Potbelly was right next door to both and did the trick. No eggs needed for these early morning travelers! I ordered a Mediterranean Wrap Flat with hummus, feta, cucumbers, artichokes, and roasted red peppers. 14 year old ordered an Uotown Salad with chicken breast, grapes, apples, cranberries, candied walnuts, romaine, iceberg, and spinach. Both the salad and flat were freshly made and tasty. The staff was courteous and accommodating. Would recommend for a quick bite in Dulles.

Very good sandwich shop even for being in the airport they still maintain the freshness at such a high volume output. I had the chicken sub add bacon and hot peppers.

I was waiting for my connecting flight to Sacramento and spied Potbellys. The line was short and the sandwhiches looked absolutely fantastic. Prices were more than fair for the Airport! I did the Gyro Flat as a meal deal. I had it exactly the way it is normally prepared. It was ready in what felt like 30 seconds. I was asked if I wanted any additional condiments on it or if I was okay with the normal way that it comes and the woman listed the ingridients. There are no tables to sit down at but there was a little stand up bar that I ate at. Having a nearly 6 hour flight ahead of me sent me back in the line for more. I ordered a Chicken Salad Salad and 2 Cookies. The salad was also spectacular and very filling! THANK YOU GUYS for making my dinner before my flight home! I recommend this place for anyone looking for a quick and delicious bite to eat!!!

First time trying Potbellys and it was pretty solid. The menu is like your typical sub shop when you pick the sandwich and then add toppings of your choosing. I ordered the BLTA and it was definitely satisfying as they did not get stingy with the bacon (which I loved!). Their oatmeal chocolate chip cookies were also pretty tasty! This Potbellys is located in a pretty busy area of the terminal but the employees moved very quickly with the orders.

Good option to grab sandwiches & coffee before flight. It has good seating space . Although, vegetarian options are just two but it's good and much better than what's available around. We ordered Mediterranean Sandwich and Breakfast Sandwich (removed meat) and coffee.

We wanted some breakfast & lunch for the next hours because we had two 5 hr flights with no time between them. Shake: Banana It was good plus came with a cookie. (Cute!) Tasted like vanilla banana ice cream. Mmm! Breakfast Sandwiches: White bread, eggs, bacon & cheddar. Whole wheat bread, mushrooms, ham & swiss. (This was my choice and I loved it! Very tasty.) Lunch: Turkey Club with salad & mayo on white bread. The taste and price are fair for being at the airport and they were fast. Great service! Mahalo!

I've hit this Potbelly a number of times for quick eats before boarding a flight. This location is right next door to a "Bar Symon." I've had both the Wreck on Wheat (regular) and the Turkey on Wheat (regular) - add hot peppers to both. Sandwiches have been uniformly tasty! Even though they get pretty busy - they've always cranked through the line fairly quickly! #Potbelly

You gotta be kidding me with these kids menu PBJs. You made them on flaky hoagie rolls with so much jelly it squeezes from side creating a complete mess. 2 PBJs, 3 small sandwiches, and 1 drink for the bargain price of $42. Thanks Potbelly!

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat between arriving from Montreal and heading home to San Diego. It was the best option for the time we had. Plus, I wasn't trying to eat a heavy meal right before boarding a 5-hour flight. There was only one family of four in front of us, but it seemed to take forever for them to move on. I'm sure that was due to the indecisiveness of the family and not the girl prepping the sandwiches, but I felt the clock ticking as we stood there, trapped behind them. There were a handful of people working behind the counter at that time; I couldn't help wondering why one of them didn't break off from standing around to help tame the line that was quickly growing behind us. When we finally got to the front, I ordered the Chicken Salad on wheat, and my husband ordered the Mediterranean on wheat. The girl who started the sandwiches was pleasant and efficient, but once those slabs of bread left her station, it all went to pot. The girl on the other side of the toasting machine was horrible. She mumbled, she was soft-spoken, and she was in charge of asking us questions. Every single person she interacted with responded to every single sentence she uttered with a variation of, "HUH?!" We were no exception. I *think* she asked me what I wanted to dress my sandwich. I rattled off my list of ingredients, anyway, figuring that's how all sandwich shops work. She mumbled something back at me, and my only response (having already used the indicated "HUH?!") was to blink back at her. My poor husband had it even worse. He has trouble hearing on the best of days - all those rock concerts without hearing protection as a child have caught up to him - and in this situation, he was sunk. I kept rooting for him to just nod his head and smile, but he *really* wanted his sandwich to be the way he wanted it to be, so he kept asking her to repeat herself. And she kept mumbling right back at him. Finally, some agreement was reached - I'm not sure who came out victorious - and we were passed down the line to the cashier...who seemed to think we were holding things up on purpose. She certainly wasn't trying to be friendly or helpful. So, anyway - three stars for girl number one and the sandwiches themselves - which were quite tasty, thanks. I actually really enjoyed the chicken salad - it wasn't as heavy with mayo as I had expected it to be, and my husband had no problems polishing off his Mediterranean sandwich. It was pricey, but given we were in an airport, it wasn't terrible. They had some seating available on the other side of the order area, but it was full up of people, and we both wanted to get closer to our gate, just in case. I think I would try an actual Potbelly shop if we ever visit the DC area. The sandwiches were good, and they can't all employ the mumblers and disgruntled folk of the city, right?

Great staff. It's hard to be cheerful about whatever life throws at you in an airport, and they are.

Well done Airport Potbelly team!!!…read more This place was beyond busy and pretty much non-stop during our 1.5 layover. We saw a constant line - close to our gate...however the line was moving...no person really stood in place for very long. Their system is pretty slick...they keep people moving and every staff member at their station was focused and attentive and helping to keep customers focused and paying attention. It's a bit of a cattle call line, however, everything was neat, organized, accessible and signage was viewable and readable from whereever you were standing in line. My sandwich was exactly how I requested. Well prepared, great amount of toppings and for a $13 sandwich it was a very generous portion. Easy to take on the plane. I would definitely recommend this location for a more "fresh" food option.

Not a huge fan of Potbelly traditionally but wanted to try a wrap instead of a sandwich, to see if…read moreI liked it better. And I did like it quite a bit! Felt like a better balance of flavors without so much bread. Order was: Chicken salad wrap, provolone, lettuce, cucumbers, Italian seasoning. Portion size was generous, everything tasted fresh and flavorful. In the mid-afternoon, this area is a good place to take a break in the airport. A few of the gates right around Potbelly were almost empty. I collapsed on a row of seats near the window and leisurely consumed my wrap while watching planes go by. It was quite pleasant. Marking off a star because I ordered ahead on their app while I was walking across the airport and they didn't make it until I got there, even though I had allowed 20 minutes for them to prepare it. No signage explaining where to go for pre-orders, so I had to flag someone down at the registers and she found the slip for the order. Then she sort of begrudgingly made it and handed it to me without any commentary. So yeah, seems to be a common theme here. No one was particularly friendly and they didn't actually make my order until I asked, but the food was good and at least somewhat healthy.
