First time visiting Chicago and saw Potbelly Sandwiches basically everywhere we went. Decided to try it out when we had some free time. Honestly a disappointing experience. We ordered an original sized Avo Turkey that's suppose to come with hand-sliced turkey breast, swiss, fresh-sliced avocado, and cucumbers. We also requested all the normal free toppings with the sandwich too. So far so good. Head out to the park, open the bag, and look at our sandwich. I don't know how much "oil" they put on the sandwich but it was soaked. Started eating the sandwich and then noticed it was missing the avocado, cucumber, and swiss cheese. How do you not put in the main ingredients listed of the sandwich? Sandwich was the equivalent of ordering from Subway. Something else I remembered was that the employee making our sandwich had her mask under her nose and then literally took off her mask, turn around, cough, and then put it back on after. My girlfriend happened to return here last Thursday and pick up some sandwiches for dinner, and some how my sandwich came out super greasy! Literally the bottom of the bag was see thru and nearly dipping with oil. Weird part was I didn't even ask for oil on my sandwich. Somehow I should've known better than to eat that sandwich, as the Big Wreck completely wrecked my stomach. I was tossing and turning all night and making frequent trips to the restroom. Wanted to try something quick on the last day of my Chicago business trip and ended up coming here for lunch. There was a line at first but it went by pretty quick. The good thing I liked about this place is that it's quicker and more convenient to order than being at Subway. Subway you end up waiting in line for a long time. At Potbelly, they had a staff who would ask for your order via a tablet and once I got to the area where they were making the sandwiches, it was already through the heating area ready to get the extras on. I was surprised at how smooth and easy the ordering process was. I ended up getting their Grilled Chicken sandwich and they were quick to make it. It was also tasty! I don't even know if they have a Potbelly or that type of service here in Los Angeles but a place like Subway can definitely learn from this place. Very convenient, clean place and tasty sandwich! This one was open the latest when and since he arrived in Chicago later than I did I surprised him by bringing him to this location. I automatically was pleased with this spot because of it's later hours. Once we arrived, this location was clean, the two gentleman working the counter were respectful and delightful and they made our sandwiches quickly and were well put together. We enjoyed chatting with them and joking with them.
