    Mmmmm.....pizza. Me love pizza of all types. A group of us from our running club gathered here to devour some deep dish pizza after running the Chicago marathon. What better way to refuel after 26.2 grueling miles than with a cheesy deep dish filled pizza? Sure, it was tasty and filling, but I'm still not really about eating pizza with a knife and fork, as this is more of a pizza-souffle to me. I wanted to take a nap after eating a few large pie slices. I did my best to eat as much as I could stuff my face with. I ain't no quitter! Service did as well as possible considering how crowded it was, and they took care of us best they could. A few cold beers bided our time until our pizzas arrived. As this Chicago pizza chain goes it does the job representing deep dish style.

    This was our departing meal heading back home to MIA. Service was very friendly & attentive. Even though there was enough personnel on hand there were tables that were not turned over for a long period of time. Our personal pizza came out fresh but my husband's sandwich was delivered first so he had to start while we waited. He enjoyed the Italian. Overall this is a solid establishment to grab a decent deep dish.

    We just stumbled on this great pizza place and had the most amazing pizza. It was made to order so it was fresh, hot, and delicious. The pie was so thick with great cheese, toppings, and sauce. We had so much that we ate on it several days.

    Where's the cheese?

    "I've been a Giordano's fan for over 30 years, enjoying their pizza at many locations, but the South Loop location is by far the worst. I ordered a tavern-style pizza, and it had almost no cheese--absolutely disappointing. I also had a bad experience with the GM, who did nothing when I reached out. I ordered through DoorDash, and even then, no resolution. I will never be back to this location

    This is a cute spot to go w friends or your partner for some yummy pizza and good vibes. There are TVs w sports playing and a nice size bar. The pizza was made freshly to order so you do have to wait a little bit, but that gooey cheese pull is worth it! (;

    What's Chicago without deep dish pizza? Giordano's made a solid effort on a busy Friday night. Seated right away, server took our order, all good. Salads were good, so was pizza. The place was a bit noisy but it was busy for sure. Good job.

    Came here on a Saturday and it was busy, as expected. It was a 15-20 minute wait, which wasn't too bad. Got seated and ordered one tavern style, one deep dish, and one Italian beef sandwich. The deep dish and sandwich were off of the lunch menu. The pizzas came out first, they're probably pumping those out constantly. But the non-pizza items took so long to get out of the kitchen and it was just fries, salad, and the sandwich. Everything was really delicious tho. The cheese on the sandwich was an extra $1. Loved the crust on the deep dish, but it's too tomatoey for me. The tavern style was just a regular thin crust pizza to me. The sandwich was great. The cesar salad was fresh with great flavor and the parmesan garlic fries were great as well.

    Had try Chicago's famous deep dish pizza. Found this place near the hotel we stayed so walked over for a bite. Ordered the vegetarian small to share as the slices were literally three inches thick and both of us were on a carb restricted diet. Surprisingly not as much dough as we were expecting (plus). Fair amount of stuffed veggies and cheese on top. Honestly wish they added much more cheese to the pizza which would have hit it out of the park for me. Personally, I'm more of a New York pizza fan.

    The kids loved the lightly-fried calamari, the generously-topped thin-crust "super veggie", and the classic deep dish!

    Great Chicago deep-dish! We got takeout for a little party, and everyone had so much, we followed with a delivery! Their calamari appetizer was light, tender, and crispy, with a little lemon and bite-y (but avoidable) banana peppers. Tasty marinara to dip in. The grilled Chicken Caprese Melt sandwich had tasty basil pesto, with a reasonable amount of lots of mozzarella, lightly-marinated tomatoes, fresh greens, and a splash of lemony vinaigrette, all on toasted ciabatta. The real star was the pizza! Our takeout thin crust was the "super veggie", with black olives over the mozzarella, hiding a generous layer of mushrooms, green peppers, onions, broccoli, and spinach. Even the kids liked it! We loved the (mid-September '24) 50-yr-celebration special Calabrian Sweet and Spicy Chicken-Sausage deep dish, designed by a Michelin-starred guest-chef. Tender well-seasoned sausage with a generous cover of a medium-spiced giardiniera, drizzled lightly with not-too-hot chili honey. And it benefited The Lurie Children's Hospital! We added delivery of a classic deep-dish pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers & onion, always a favorite. Giordano's has never disappointed us, and this was a delicious feast!

    First timers in Chicago so my husband and I had to stop into a Giordano's to try a deep dish pizza while in town. We came in on a weeknight for dinner and they were busy. Service was friendly but a little slow, understandable as they were catering to the influx of diners during the dinner rush. The food was great and the pizza lived up to the hype for us, especially for my husband. Our order consisted of: - Giordano's Sampler (for an appetizer) - a small deep dish Chicago Classic - a personal size deep dish with pepperoni and pineapple Everything from the appetizer to both pizzas was delicious. We especially enjoyed the bruschetta and mozzarella triangles from the appetizer. Both pizzas were also cooked to perfection. Everything tasted fresh and of good quality. We had no complaints and we were thrilled to have leftovers to bring back to the hotel with us. We tried a few other deep dish pizza spots during our stay and Giordano's was, by far, our favorite. We will definitely be back again the next time we're in town again.

    We went while I was there for the Chicago Marathon. Long wait but that was expected considering the amount of people in town for the race. We decided to wait and it was worth it. Deep dish was absolutely amazing. Also had the Greek salad. Very good! Service was fabulous. Highly recommend!

    Beware of the waiter Steven, who very rudely took our order (he ignored me twice, putting his elbows on our table and fiddling with the order pad, and then asked me to repeat my order each time while ignoring me). He finally said that the Internet wasn't working and had me repeat our order a third time before disappearing - never coming to check on us or give us water. We couldn't even flag him down because he went off to the kitchen and wouldn't even look our way the entire hour we were there. He came by at some point to drop off our starter but didn't even make eye contact or say anything to us like it was a drive-by, so we didn't even have a chance to ask for water or napkins or anything we needed. One of the other servers ended up helping us out the rest of the night, and Steven didn't come back to us at all the whole night until it was time to collect the check and tip. He suddenly was trying to be super nice telling us he "appreciated our patience" and stood over us to watch as we paid to try to pressure us into tipping for service that we didn't even receive. Our food was good otherwise though! Got the Chicago Classic deep dish and the sampler which were both delicious. I'd probably just order takeout next time.

    I ordered a Gio Sampler and a personal deep dish cheese pizza. I received a pizza with sausage and was denied a refund since I had eaten my other items like my drink and Gio Sampler. But the over quality of the pizza was also disappointing to start. The box was dripping grease out of the side when I pulled it from their to go bag.

    Slice of meat and more meat deep dish.

Normally I hate those kinds of large group dinners, but this was the perfect spot for it. The service was absolutely wonderful. I don't know how our server stayed so cool and calm with a group that size. We got a variety of things. EVERYTHING was amazing. If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. We had visited Florence last year, and one of the numerous wonderful moments of our trip to Italy was seeing "Il Porcellino" - the lucky bronze boar fountain that draws tourists from around the world. A copy of the boar stands proudly near the entrance of the restaurant, and though it is not as old as the original 1634 sculpture, it was a charming reminder of our amazing Italian holiday. Did I mention that the weekday Happy Hour (4-6PM) specials are quite good? The specials are served only at the bar area, so you might have to wait a few minutes for available seating. We started with some drinks, including two kinds of Negroni. The wild mushroom arancini (5 little balls for $6) were the smallest I've tried, but they were creamy and melt-in-your mouth delicious. The whipped ricotta and jam beautifully served on a strip of toasty focaccia was a unique taste sensation. Prime beef meatballs and short rib sliders on toasted ciabatta bread also hit the spot. Even though we were merely dining at the bar, we enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant. There are lots of photos on the walls, interesting lighting from the ceiling, nice serving dishes, and servers who seem to know who their regular diners are. We look forward to returning to Il Porcellino, to bask in that indescribable feeling of being in Italy again.

It's one of those places that you find yourself talking about long after the meal is over. The garlic bread alone is worth the visit. They pour what feels like a gallon of garlic butter over it, and somehow it's still never enough. It's rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. We order it every single time and would probably be disappointed if we didn't. The real star of the show, though, is the lasagna. Between the two of us, we've had lasagna at countless restaurants, and nothing has come close to this one. It's hands down the best lasagna we've ever had. Perfect layers, incredible flavor, and the kind of comfort food that makes you want to savor every bite. Their Grey Goose espresso martini is also unmatched. We've tried espresso martinis all over Chicago, and this one is still our favorite. It's smooth, perfectly balanced, and the ideal way to start or end the meal. The atmosphere is another reason we love coming here. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, with a dark, moody vibe that makes it feel special without being stuffy. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining so I went ahead and booked a table for Friday night. I felt like I won the dinner lottery. Service was wonderful and I didn't mind sitting outside at all next to the road with cars. I actually never stepped foot in the restaurant so cannot comment on what it's like inside. But do not give up that patio dining reservation if it's available. All of our dishes were delicious. I was really impressed by the meatball appetizers, chicken vesuvio (the potatoes are a must get as a side if you skip this dish), and branzino. The meats and sauces were wonderfully balanced and tender. Nothing tasted overly salted. Ironically, the pasta felt less of a star compared to the other dishes.
