This is a huge store in the Riverside mall. On the first floor they have the dining and living space goods. The second floor is much larger. They have beddings, quilts, towels, home furnishings, kitchenware, couches, and so much more. There's a sale section on the second floor as well. The store is so nicely organized, bright and clean. There are checkout counters on both floors. Multiple associates are available around the store helping out customers with questions and trying out products. This was my first time visiting the store. I was looking for a particular comforter in the store but it wasn't available. Checking around the whole space, I felt the store had smaller collection than the website. Horrible customer service and horrible furniture quality. I attempted to leave a review on the bed I bought on the PB website only to realize they don't even have reviews anymore probably because they know their products would get poor reviews!!!! I ordered the Carmel Upholstered Bed, Tall Headboard, King in stores. With the White Glove delivery fee and tax it ended up costing just over $2200. I received it poorly built with corners misaligned and so much empty space and no wood on the base. When my tempur-pedic mattress went on top of it there were horrible gaps on rach side of the frame full of exposed wood and air space. The holes in the corners were large enough to sit my hand and foot in. I went back in stores to request a return and refund. First off customer service is horrible because they just try to gaslight you by attempting to blame it on the mattress probably being the wrong dimensions. A case was opened up and over the next few weeks I was on the phone with PB. I also was told to send in pictures and videos with dimensions. I'm almost 39 weeks pregnant. But my husband and I hunkered down and took all the requested photos and videos and I emailed them in via google drive. I wouldn't go through all these measures unless I was extremely dissatisfied with the product. I wanted the bed picked up on top of a refund because it is a sight for sore eyes. The build/quality is worse than if I had bought a bed frame off of Amazon or Ikea and built it myself. It definitely was not a $2200 bed frame. It is a regret purchase and even if I was offered it for 50% off I wouldn't take it. After wasting all my time, PB emailed back initially stating they would request refund, THEN emailed back a week later denying my refund and suggesting I call the San Francisco office. Kathryn who I was corresponding with didn't even bother to provide it in the email, and instead said I could search it up online, AKA google it. All this to say the customer service is HORRIBLE. They don't care about customer satisfaction and they were rude about it, simply gaslighting you trying to tell you "this is how it is". I am attaching photos of everything and warning people to not spend your precious money on horribly built furniture from here. You are taking a risk and if you end up hating it you will have wasted money and will end up stuck with the furniture. I am now stuck with the ugliest and lowest quality bed that I wasted $2200 on AND I wasted weeks of my time! What is truly the point of a customer service department if not to resolve customer concerns? read more

Came in here for a wedding registry. The store was clean, the staff was super helpful even with many customers to assist. The decor and products in general are very nice but quite expensive. I'm personally more of a West Elm kind of guy but it was a nice experience overall and if i was rich I'd probably decorate my home here. It was interesting to see they had designers that worked there and people were decorating rooms completely from scratch and searched through books of fabric colors and types to get exactly what they want. Ordered a custom upholstered bed in the Hackensack store on 9/5 and Pottery Barn promised delivery between 10/29-11/5 on my order invoice. It's now 12/17 and bed still hasn't arrived at their warehouse. If I'm lucky I'll have this bed by January 2021. After dozens of emails to their customer service group, the only response is that they'll email the vendor, and that I need to wait 10 days for vendor to respond. Pottery Barn expects customers to spend thousands of dollars, but can't hold a vendor accountable to answer a question in a timely manner. I have worked in Supply Chain for some of the nation's largest retailers, and know it doesn't take 10 days to track a purchase order. Steer clear of Pottery Barn unless you want to devote significant time and effort to chasing down answers, and are willing to accept infinite delays. read more

We ordered an in-stock rug on September 26 only to find out a week later that there was going to be a slight delay. Weeks later we were informed that the carpet would not be delivered until February. We could not wait that long . We have tried to cancel the order 3 times but keep getting the run around. They have charged my credit card for the full amount and have tried to get them refunded the money but have not gotten any confirmation or refund to our credit card. Although we didn't wind up purchasing anything, I have never actually been inside a Pottery Barn so I decided to browse around. The prices are a little on. the high side especially when I judge the quality to price ratio. I feel like this is just an expensive Home Goods. For example, I saw a flameless candle for $50 which looked exactly like one you could purchase online for less than $15. If you have the money and urge to splurge, you do come across items that are unique if you are doing any interior decorating. read more

This review pertains to the Hackensack NJ store: The salespersons are rather unpleasant and in need of customer service training. When you ask questions, they act like you're bothering them... and the answers are short and rude. I want to start with I am not one to leave bad reviews but being in customer service I felt the need to this time, my wife and I came into the store on Dec 9th at around 11am looking for a bed. We had our hearts set on a specific bed, when we came in we were greeted by a rep in which told us the beds were upstairs. I figured since its upstairs someone else would help us. We started to look around and found the bed we were looking for. As we stood there at least 4 reps walked past us without a hello or can I help you. One gentlemen looked at us, I know he looked at us because I saw him staring at us but even so did not ask us if we needed help, not even a Hello. I did notice he did proceed to help another customer that came in after us, he was super friendly to them. We had to walk downstairs after about 15-20 mins of no one bothering to ask us anything, there were reps talking to each other by the cash register and yes they saw us too. A different rep on the first floor did come up to us and she was amazing her name I think is Delilah ( I am so sorry If I have her name wrong but she was amazing) Super patient and helpful. I hate to say this but, maybe we don't fit the requirements of what people might think a Pottery Barn customer looks like but we have been and it's really unfortunate that its clear that was the issue since after standing there waiting for someone to ask us if we needed help I observed other customers come in and get helped right away by the same staff that clearly saw we needed help but didn't bother. A word of advice from a manager in customer service, everyone should be treated the same exact way. The only reason I give 2 stars is because the 2 ladies on the first floor that were very friendly. read more

Very limited selection and questionable quality. I was looking for a shower curtain and there was only one in stock (white) at Short Hills. and they didn't even have a sample book to view designs. The quality has gone down too. The majority bedding is linen or linen blend vs 100% cotton and there is a very limited selection. I used to love going into this store. read more

I will say the pottery barn things are very nice but do your self a BIG FAVOR and do NOT get a Pottery Barn Credit Card. They tell you that it's great but the service for the card itself is not good at all. There is no way to handle autopay and they are not helpful. If you want to shop there just go in and use your regular bank accounts where you can manage. They tell you to charge on it for the points and then the store and the actual bank the card is with don't understand the same terms. The sales clerks there were all very friendly - but they made a lot of mistakes in every one of my interactions with them . We tended to buy large items (e.g a few 9x12 rugs and furniture) there and they all took forever at the register. The sales person over-charged us both times with the rugs! It turned out that the store price and the internet price (their own website) were different. Be very careful! This weekend, we went to buy a bar stool - and pointed out to the sales person the exact one on the floor. Guess what? They gave us the wrong color! When we tried to get it exchanged but they tried to push a broken one on us because they don't have another one in the inventory. Their stool was damaged on 2 corners and we refused to accept it as it does not have a box (I think it was a previous return). They then use a magic marker painted the exposed wood on the damaged parts and tried to make us accepted it again saying that it was fixed. Very shabby! Now, this was the bad business practice - they processed my return, and order another one to ship to the store for me (it would take 3 weeks according to them). On the same day, I saw the charge on my credit card account - TWICE - and I never saw any refund nor the product I purchased! With online retailer, they don't charge you until they ship... Here in Pottery Barn, they charge you twice - IMMEDIATELY - before you even get the stuff in the mail. What a scam! read more

Basically when you buy any thing from pottery barn expect to toss after one year when the warranty is up because they won't help you replace it or get it fixed . The women who work at Pottery Barn Kids in Hackensack, NJ are very unpleasant. First of all I'd like to note that they were joking about kicking someone in the face, this way you know why this email is so long... so when I walked in they didn't greet me or anyone else for that matter. They only gave customers half their attention when they were asked for help, and if they did have to leave their club by the register, it was in a huff and then they came right back to each other. I was in there for maybe 30 minutes and the three of them just chose to stand together at the register talking about customers and just random people they all knew in between being burdened by patrons who had questions. They were all a bit older. The shorter one with the dirty blonde shoulder length hair is the one that said she wanted to kick this one lady in the face... this is not a joke. She said, 'I just want to kick her in the face whenever I see her...' the taller one with long dark brown hair and glasses laughed and stood there with her arms crossed leaning over the register, and the lady with the almost pixi cut dark brown hair didn't even look at me while she began ringing me up. They really thought it would be hilarious to watch this customer get kicked in the face by one of them. Seriously, what is this?? That's appalling! The ringer just laughed with them and proceeded to tell me what I owed. At this point I just want to buy my daughters doll and get out of there.. but I pointed out that the extra 20% off that was advertised didn't come off and the taller one with long hair and glasses chose this moment to speak to me, and she said very rudely, 'if you ACTUALLY read it, it says select.' So I asked her why there were three signs on the shelves with the dolls that had 20% off all over them, and then she rolled her eyes, went to the doll corner and proceeded to rip them all off. Yes, she ripped them all off and came walking back swinging her hips and holding the signs with her finger tips then kind of tossed them on the counter. The one ringing me up told me not to worry about the 20% and honored it anyway. I will admit that out of the three she wasn't the worst of them, I mean, she seemed to really get a kick out of everyone's adorable children, but she was partaking with the others which makes her just as bad. Then the long haired lady and the bob lady immediately started talking about another customer who had called all day about a box spring and was planning on visiting them later that day. All three of them were really annoyed that she was planning on stopping by, and all three of them disliked her. I know this because this is what they were talking about while I was charging my credit card. I'm really turned off. No body wants to hear you complaining about customers and listen to you squawking about people you hate outside of work. Customers don't appreciate eye rolls or all that attitude either. You made a mistake. You carelessly signed all the toys 20% off and then want to tell me that all toys are excluded, but you'll do me a favor and give it to me anyway? And then let's revisit their choice of words regarding Pottery Barn customers... that is unacceptable. They either need more to do at work, or if they're too cool to help people on the job, maybe Pottery Barn isn't for them. For how old they are, they seemed incapable of conducting themselves like adults, let alone like professionals who represent a brand where real adults shop for their children. My daughter will be three soon and she was with me. I'm glad she isn't old enough to understand what they were saying, otherwise she might think that joking about assaulting people is okay. I walked careful touring around the store with my baby in her stroller and to my surprise not even one of the ladies had greeted me. I felt so not welcomed that I had continued my round and immediately out the store. let me start by saying that in a 2 month period I had ordered $10K worth of furniture and lighting from Pottery Barn. The sales clerk that handled the initial sale was friendly and seemed to handle our order well. Our problems started after the order was made and PB had our money. Our items came in several different deliveries and every delivery had at least one item broken / damaged. I understand things go wrong from time to time, but EVERY DELIVERY! Ok...so we called the store and customer service to address these broken items for each issue and things just got worse. Customer service at Pottery Barn is appalling. They are rude, not helpful and refuse to let you speak with their superior. After hanging up and calling back...I finally made some progress for the replacement of my items. The progress, however, was limited. I was given another person to call at the Hackensack store. This was our first interaction with Ruth. Ruth was also not friendly, fairly rude and only helpful after arguing with her for 15 minutes. Since the initial call with Ruth I had the joy of speaking with her a few more times. Each conversation was worse than the first. I am hopefully receiving the last of my replacement pieces from PB today and then I will officially be done with this company. Buyer Beware- if you are compelled to buy from PB in Hackensack be sure to check your items carefully and do not even let the driver leave before calling the store about any issues. read more

This review is for Pottery Barn generally, internet sales particularly, and not an individual store. My real estate agent suggested a kitchen facelift for my on the market house, and suggested their products. I bought cabinet knobs, drawer pulls, and a bell-shaped pendant lamp in a polished nickel finish. Also looked at lovely Roman window shades but did not buy. All these really spruced up my tired, dated kitchen. Not dirt cheap, but the quality and style are high. When there was a UPS delivery problem, PBS straightened them out in a hurry. read more

Went in today to return a cheap looking item I purchased online that I could have easily purchased from a Target, Walmart or even a dollar store, only to be told they cannot take it back bc it was a final sale. Sure, the item didn't cost much to begin with but the old ladies offered no type of "one time courtesy" or perhaps even store credit, NADA, NOTHING. No help whatsoever. So I immediately hop on my cell to call customer service as I'm walking away from the register and what do you know, they arrange a UPS pick up at my home and apologize for the old bags working at this place. This location is crawling with miserable old hags that ring on cash registers and kiss ass to sell engineered wood/ikea type furniture for a living.
