I finally made it back to Pour and had to update my review to reflect how happy I am to have a place like this in Westchester. This is the perfect place to take out of towners to show them you don't have to make the trek down to the city to have a superb wine bar experience. Top it off with some gelato from Via Vanti down the road, and you've got yourself a great night out in Mt. Kisco. They have plenty of moderately priced bottles of wine available. We ordered a bottle of Riesling, and the waitress suggested an alternate bottle (that was slightly more expensive) as being far superior-- we took her advice, and were very pleased, both with the wine and the fact that she charged us for the less expensive bottle we had originally requested. The small plates and panini are simple and rustic, but delicious, and can provide you with a snack or meal, depending on your fancy. With a cozy interior, friendly staff, and city-style eats in the suburbs, this is a no-brainer. read more

A little off the beaten path, Pour is a fun place to meet for a date or drinks with friends when you actually want to talk to them and not yell over music or other people. The vibe is dark, quiet, and almost sensual with the lighting, old fashioned bar, and velvet seating. This is the kind of place where I imagine you could drink absinthe and no one would bat an eye. Went with my boyfriend and a college friend of his and we all had a good time. Bartender/sommalier (not sure if he's a certified sommalier or not but I'm not the wine police here) recommended some good bottles and the accompanying food was light and enjoyable. I wouldn't come here for a full meal, but rather bites with friends. I absolutely love this place for a number of reasons. It's nestled back from the main drag of a busy street. Its small in footprint, but that adds to the intimacy of the place. The bar is small and approachable. The bartender, James, is extremely friendly and quite knowledgeable about the wine and spirits. The selection of wines is EXCELLENT, especially with regard to non-popular/mainstream/overly-ordered, but very notable, wines from around the world. Likewise with the spirits, especially the whiskeys and bourbons, and such. Even absynth! The owner, Anthony, is always on-site and is a pleasure to speak with. He visits everyone and the inviting ambiance adds to the total experience of comfort. Completely unpretentious, the casual decor is a respite for romantic get-togethers or gathering place for friends and coworkers. Great place for a first date. Not a loud or noisy place, at all. Plenty of soft, dark nooks to enjoy great conversation, with a glass of excellent wine, and very tasty foods. I wish the food menu was more extensive, but I can understand why it cannot be so: the place is not big at all. Think small and cozy. Every time I visit, I simply have Anthony or James make me "anything". I am NEVER disappointed. There is also a quaint wrap-around deck for those balmy star-lit nights. I had my first experience at Pour Cafe and Wine Bar. I loved that it's in an old house, which makes the ambiance quite unique. It turned out a perfect place to unwind and chat with my friend, everything accompanied with a glass of a wine and perfect bites of cheeses and flatbread. I particularly liked the ample selection of wines, mostly by the bottle. It's more limited by the glass. Anyway, they offer types that you cannot find in other places or restaurants, and actually, my expectation was to have something different. The food menu -I'd say- is just about right for a wine bar. We had a cheese sampler (3 different kinds), and a flatbread. It was more than enough for two. All the food was delicious! And how cannot be when is paired with a great glass of wine! My husband and I chose Pour for our wedding rehearsal dinner, and we had a lovely evening there with our guests. I had very much wanted to incorporate wine tasting into our wedding weekend, and Pour was an ideal choice for us - I really liked that it's in a cute house, provided a chic but casual ambience, we could have the whole place to ourselves for the party (the space holds up to 50 people), and that it was convenient for us and our guests relative to our hotels since we were all coming from out of town. Their party package includes three hours of open bar along with a selection of passed hors d'oeuvres and vegetable and fruit plates which can be customized depending on your preferences. Met a friend here for drinks after work. The owner, Anthony, was meeting with vendors and trying some new wines. They all graciously offered us some, so in addition to some interesting whiskies, I had a glass (or was it 2?) of some truly great wine. But the news is that we shared some food. We had the Catalan Flatbread, which is great. Also, they checked something with the chef and offered us a previous nights special, Onion Soup Grilled Cheese. OMG, delish! Imagine. A wine bar with parking! Great selection of wines. Not a big food menu (not an "out for dinner" place), but perfect for nibbling and complementing the wine. Artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, and flatbreads. Bring it on. Comfortable and sort of eccentric feeling. There's a regular bar and then cushy seating with little tables scattered through the rooms of what was formerly a house. Wouldn't mind a cup of coffee or espresso at the end of my tasting, but that's not offered. read more

I felt like I was in the home of a friend with a world class wine, beer and liquor collection. It was very cozy and friendly but classy as well. Each wine had that perfect taste that you hope to find when you buy bottles in the liquor store but never seem to find more than 1 in 20 times. We ate a huge dinner before we showed up. However, we ordered appetizers/tapas one at a time and loved each one so much that we kept ordering until we stuffed our faces with five orders of food. I bring all my guests here as my go to place. Been to Pour twice and the place is really charming. Lovely intimate setting for a date night but large enough to come with a group. Also like that the space has like 4 different areas to set up at. It's pretty dimly lit which makes it a challenge to read the menu but the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful which is great because I find that wine bar staff can often be pretentious which is totally not the case here. Excellent wine selection, bourbons, ryes, single malts, and specialty cocktails. A little bit light on the beer selection but still some rare finds. There is a limited amount of food but what I have had has been phenomenal! The manchego and chorizo flatbread was awesome and the meatballs were small but heavenly with a creamy scoop of ricotta cheese and flatbreads. The cheese platters are a good size and include nice extras like grilled apricots, their house roasted cashews, cornichons, and cherries. Pour is great for a post dinner glass of fine wine and desert. Everything is very close together so you may be mingling with other people. It's an interesting place due to the fact that it looks like you're pulling into someone's house. But when you go in, it's very eloquently decorated, clean and the service is impeccable. Everyone has vast knowledge on wine. The only reason why I gave 3 stars and not 5 is because I hit my head on one of their super low lamps. It was probably my fault but still lol! As part of a belated Valentine's Day celebration, we treated ourselves to an evening on the town in Mount Kisco. Driving around town, you might think it's just another lovely home. However, the sign for Pour indicates otherwise, and you can pull into the driveway and parking lot that sits behind the building. We had a reservation, and the staff was well aware and ready for us, even though we were a little early. The owner regularly checks in on his clientele and the service was stellar. There are a variety of seating options, from comfy corners to high tops to seating at the bar. We had a variety of appetizers, but the fried chickpea bites were the most delicious surprise of them all. We hope to be back soon! read more

I am thrilled that there is finally a place worthy of calling itself a wine bar in northern Westchester. Pour is cozy, cool, and is a great place for a girls' night out or date night. I went with a couple of friends around opening time and we sat at the bar. The selection of wines was quirky and the bartender made suggestions based on our likes/dislikes. He offered tastes before we committed to an entire glass and poured each glass with panache. Though we didn't order cocktails, he was quite adept at making those of the old-fashioned, eclectic variety. If I could intern there as an apprentice bartender, I would do so in a minute. I suppose what I appreciated most was that this could easily be a snooty, overpriced place, but it wasn't--the quality of the product stands on its own without any need for posturing. Great place for drinks and small plates. The cocktails we ordered were excellent and the food was good. Loved the decor and the environment. The bar (this is more a bar/lounge than a restaurant) is in an old Victorian house which gives it an old-timey look and feel. It feels like you're in a speakeasy in the 20's. Its really different then any place I'v been to before. Very unusual but nice. I had a glass of there merlot and thought it was so so. Im use to my own homemade merlot. It wasn't worth 15.00 a glass but the place was nice. I'll go back and try there food next time. read more

Pour, how I love thee...let me count the ways: 1) Let's start with the foundation, shall we? Pour's proprietor Anthony is nothing short of a gastro-vino guru -- he has found a niche that desperately needed to be filled in Westchester and he's filled it, seamlessly. Among other things, he knows wines, he knows scotches, and man, does he know small plates. 2) About those small plates..they're brilliant. On my last visit I tried the fontina cheese, caramelized onion, and white truffle oil panini, and I nearly ordered a second (hubby stopped me, thankfully). Holy delicious...this thing was grilled to absolute perfection -- not a minute too long. Bread that is the perfect balance of crunchy and soft. Ah-maze-ing. I also have nothing but kudos for this guy's artisinal know-how. His meat and cheese plates are perfectly proportioned, and if you don't try the 4-yr aged Gouda, you're making a HUGE mistake. Who knew Gouda could taste this good? 3) The wines. A lot of these varietals might seem mysterious to some -- they certainly were to me. That's where Pour's staff come in again... everyone working behind the bar knows exactly what they're talking about. So if you're looking for a pinot grigio (which they don't have), they'll help navigate you toward something even more amazing that you never knew existed. Check, check. 4) Scotches...I'm not a big scotch drinker, but I am a BIG bottle snob. I love labels, and am guilty of buying products purely on bottle aesthetics. Pour carries the most beautiful bottles of liquor I've ever seen. I enjoy sitting at the bar just so I can ask to look at some of the bottles more closely. I know, just stamp my forehead with a big L. 5) Gotta bring it full circle. This is the kind of place I look forward to sharing with my friends when they come up from the city to the "farmland", as they call it (as in, 'yes, we have wine bars ALL the way up here in Mt Kisco'). The kind of place that oozes sophistication and panache without being obnoxious or unfriendly...the kind of place most city wine bars could learn a thing or two from, actually. I'm sorry for not providing feedback sooner. To be honest I wanted to keep this diamond in the rough all to myself. It seems however that the secret is out, as I am finding this oasis in Mt. Kisco busier and busier upon each return. This cozy gem offers something for everyone. Don't expect generic beers, wines and spirits. Pour is known for it's carefully selected eclectic fluids and small bites. I learned on New Years Eve that Pour will be expanding its menu in 2013, along with expanding it's hours to Sundays possibly. One can only hope. I've grown to think of Pour as home, where friends are served by their friends in the comfort of their own home. This place is simple and straightforward - Great wines, Amazing food, and nice ambiance. The menu is mostly Italian, the charcuterie is the best I've had in westchester and better than most spots in manhattan as well. It is not overpriced, the staff is friendly, and the food is AMAZING - consistant, delicious, and pairs with ANY wine. Seriously, I don't know why its not packed to capacity every night - with this kind of consistant quality its quickly established itself as a reliable place worth checking out. I have noticed that my servers from local restaurants are often dining here after they get out of work - always a good sign that a place is quality. Perfect place for a get together large or small when you want to just relax and talk with friends. Nice quiet atmosphere, so you don't have to contend with the average loudness of a bar. Very good selection of spirits and wines and our waitress/bartender was very helpful and friendly. We went from Village Social for dinner next door (I mean RIGHT next door, lol) to Pour and it was a perfect way to end the evening (Village is pretty loud). Visited last night with old friends. Setting is comfortable and the atmosphere is not loud which allowed us to enjoy each other's conversation. Laid back quality. The food is a tapas menu. The Ambience is great! The most character of any restaurant I've been to in the area. Extensive wine and cocktail list, the Italian waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly.
