Cute bar with great beer options and a decent wine and cider selection. They have lots of local options on tap -- I enjoyed some beers from Seattle (Fremont - Dark Star) and Bellingham (Boundary Bay Brewery - Cabin Fever). The Dark Star is sweet and almost syrupy. High alcohol content so beware! The Cabin Fever is a nice winter ale. There's also local cider from Finnriver. My husband enjoyed both ciders and they were both sweet but tart too. They have light bar snacks -- also from the local area. But you're encouraged to bring food and order take out from one of surrounding restaurants. The place itself is large with couches and a great outdoor area. If you fancy beer to take home there's bottles for purchase. I like this place -- would return if I'm back in the area! read more

What a fun spot! We rode our bikes here on the Larry Scott Trail. The bar is pretty spacious and they have a large outside seating area with picnic tables, chairs, and space to play outside games. The location can't be beat being right on the beach with a great view. They have a nice beer selection of local beers. 12 taps and several bottles, too. According to their website they carry 200 bottles. I thought they might have more than 12 taps but the selection was good and we were all happy. I had a dark ale. I can't remember the name of it. It was quite hoppy. You can order in 5 oz, 10 oz. or 16 oz. glasses. Prices were fine, not cheap but not too bad. About $5-6 for a pint but for a good beer that's reasonable. The people working were nice. You can bring food in since they don't serve food. We saw people eating Thai, pizza, and BBQ. There are several restaurants close by so if you wanted to bring food in you would have several choices. I can't wait to come back when I'm in town again! read more

I have never been verbally assaulted by a business owner until today. We came to Port Townsend for a VERY small wedding (15 people). We visited this establishment, obeyed their COVID rules even though they went beyond local law. Ownership was not comfortable with us interacting with each other. Instead of politely asking us to refrain the female owner approach us all and went on an expletive rant and loudly told us to leave. What was supposed to be a beautiful evening was nearly ruined. Furthermore when I went to close my tab and collect my credit card the male owner approached me, I told him I was only getting my credit card and leaving. He said I was a f*ucking as*hole and how dare I show up with these people. I told him politely that I respect his rights as a business owner and I simply wanted to collect my credit card. The male owner continued to escalate and told me I was an mother f*ucker. I collected my card and left. I completely understand that all business owners are under heavy pressure but what happened tonight was wrong and unforgivable. I have never felt so unwelcome and disrespected in my life. Good beer list ... Nicely colored walls and a plethora of windows make for a bright atmosphere. Great prices on everything, so those travelling from Seattle will dig it. Being able to drink out in their 'beer garden' is the best ... as the view is the best for a bar in the state. read more

My only reason for giving this business a 1/5 is because a 0/5 isn't an option. The couple that owns this bar are inept to run a business in the service industry and lack basic human decency towards their customers. I brought my small wedding party here for a welcome drink and was verbally assaulted by the woman owner. She ran up to our group as we were sitting down and screamed "YOU SHOULDN'T EVEN BE HAVING A WEDDING!" and "YOU COME IN HERE FROM OUT OF TOWN AND KNOW NOTHING!". When in fact, my fiance and other members of our wedding were from Port Townsend. This brewery's other owner called my friend a f**king a**hole when he tried to get his credit card back. I can't comment on the beer and wine selection because she kicked us out before we were able to try it. As we were leaving, the male owner called another customer a "cracker" and sent him storming out of the brewery too. If you aren't one of their regulars, you're not welcome here. This couple's ability to operate a business is undermined by their childish behavior and is a piss poor representation of the people of Port Townsend and should be ashamed. read more

Me, my husband, and my dog thought we died and gone to doggie Nirvana. Dog lovers, BOOKMARK this place. We go everywhere with our smarter-than-99% of humans-I-know dog, and can never find a place to kick back, have a beer and relax with our best bud. The reply I got when asked if my dog could just sit there was " uhh, yah, we have all kinds of dogs in here...." The atmosphere was so great, beer and really nice wine and a very eclectic crowd who were friendly and totally non-judgmental about pretty much everything. The 20's washboard band they had there were quirky and excellent and we went there repeatedly during our stay. You can order food from surrounding restaurants who deliver - just an awesome experience. I am recommending this place to all my doggie travel contacts! Good service, great beers, and cares about the pandemic. Went in yesterday afternoon after a short hike. Service was prompt, plenty of IPA's on tap, also at least one sour and sasion. Good selection of others in bottles/cans. Ordered take out for a late lunch.This place really cares about limiting the pandemic. They have lots of signs, sanitizer, and space between tables (all outside). So don't bother stopping in if you're one of those who doesn't give a sh*t about people dying from COVID-19. read more

This place was great! If you want a cool bar by the water where you can just sit out at some brightly colored picnic tables and enjoy life, this is your place!! We came in here for a quick drink and were surprised by the great variety of beers on tap and by the colorful atmosphere. They had a band playing out back in the afternoon with a dance floor so you can get down. In addition, they also had a Ping pong table outside. My husband and I were in town over St. Patrick's day weekend, and our (nasty ass) hotel was within walking distance of the Pourhouse. Since we'd come straight from Seattle on a Friday after work, with a long ferry wait, it was rather late by the time we'd checked in and we were ready for a drink. Most of the bars in town were closing soon, or had live music, and we just wanted something quiet and low-key. Even though their hours on Yelp indicated that they should be closed, the open sign was still on at the Pourhouse. They have an excellent selection of beer on tap, small but eclectic wine list, not to mention the assortment of booze free drinks. The prices are crazy cheap compared to what we're used to shelling out in the Seattle area. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and they clearly love what they do. When it's time to go, the party doesn't have to stop: they also have a good selection of bottles to go! Not only did they have a great variety, but they had some spring Ninkasi and Elysian that I hadn't seen at our local beer shop yet!! read more

So glad Port Townsend finally has a great place to drink rare/hard-to-find beer. The first time I went there they had an amazing sour beer on tap and I nearly died from excitement. They have a great variety of beer on tap and a few standing coolers with beer & ciders that you can buy and then drink right there as well. Outside is tons of seating with great views of the water. There's also ping pong and bocce ball which is fun too. I will be making this place a staple of my future trips to Port Townsend. read more

Best place for happy hour in the summer in Port Townsend. A favorite spot with the locals and boaters, Pourhouse sits right on the waterfront, with plenty of outdoor seating and the best view in tow. A good selection of microbrews on tap, as well as wine and some excellent, local, non-alcoholic drinks, too. In the summer, there is frequently/usually live music by one of the local musicians or groups. There are also outdoor games such as Bocce Ball. Dogs are even welcome outside. No food is served, but you're welcome to bring a picnic or order food to be delivered by one of the local restaurants, such as Waterfront Pizza or Thai. The best part of this experience is definitely the location perched right on the beach with tables and chairs almost close enough to dip your toes in. Make no mistake, this is NOT a brewery; no home brewed beer here, but plenty of local brews. It's a great tap room and I couldn't think of a better place to spend a sunny Saturday. The only thing I would change is having a few heating lamps outside for these crisp fall nights.
