We had many good times there until one evening the owner singled my husband out as the sole perpetratior of an event. The owner then came to me and took my drink and yelled at me and threw me out. We wrote a letter and apologized for any misunderstanding that might have occurred and the owners did not respond. They knew they could have handled the situation differently but didn't think that being rude to us would affect their business and didn't ever respond. We have since heard of many offensive altercations the male owner has had with many people. We will never go back there even if he apologized. Why be rude when you can simply be kind and straight forward. Why single out a person of color in a midst of whiteness? read more

This is a really nice bar inside of the Port Townsend area, it does only offer beer, however with the amount and variety that they offer, it allows you to find something for almost anyone even if they aren't normal beer drinkers. They serve bar snacks as well as non alcoholic options, and if you're really hungry they have a menu that has multiple local restaurants nearby that will deliver right to your table. It's a pretty awesome place. Also offers a large outdoor space with plenty of seating and room for games. Also allows dogs! I highly recommend stopping by here if you love craft beer. read more

Went for a Sunday drive and ended up in Beautiful Port Townsend. Stumbled upon the Pourhouse. Looks like an abandoned marine repair shop with a single door and no windows from the street side. I'm going with Noel M's take on the vibe here. It was a beach scene on the water. picnic tables and dogs roaming. We came here with friends who have a terrier. Very laid back and unpretentious. Wear shorts and a t-shirt in the summer. The beer menu was interesting with local and semi local varieties. There was always something else that you wanted to try the next time. They do sell a few bar snacks but you are welcome to have a pizza delivered if you need more food. On a nice day you can't beat this. read more

My experience at the Pourhouse yesterday was nothing to cheers! Costomer service was tepid at best. I felt as if I'd wandered into someone's living room and demanded a beer. I asked for a sample and was given a quarter inch of foam, the loud rap music was curiously out of place and on top of the $7 pint of beer the peanuts are an additional cost. The beer is good the service is not, I'll look elsewhere for my next pint. read more

If you been to a Texas "icehouse" and loved it, this place is a MUST. Just like an icehouse of the south, they have great regional beers on tap and in bottle. They have a binder with menus from local restaurants so you can order food and enjoy it there. We didn't have any food but loved the binder idea! Very dog friendly as there were about 4 dogs on the patio when we were there. Staff was great! Small little beach in front for the kids to play while the adults grab a beer! Was being a wanderer in Port Townsend this past weekend and stumbled upon the Pourhouse. It's a little off the beaten path (not downtown), but don't let that deter you. It's worth the extra 10 minute walk because there you will find the best beer selection in the area with a super friendly and welcoming staff. Watched the Sounders win the MLS cup, heard a cool band, and drank great beer. Good time. If I'm ever back in the area, it will be my first stop. read more

Or just bring your 12 sided RPG dice and take a roll. The owners are fantastic and I loved the dog vibe. This place really has it all - tons of outdoor seating, live music, dog-friendly atmosphere, and a great tap selection. What more do you need? Sitting outside in the beer garden is like being at the beach - laid back picnic tables are scattered around with umbrellas and you have a great view of the water while you drink. No food (well, unless you count peanuts), but they have binders of the neighborhood take-out menus so you can order in or bring in your own food. If you like Beer and a casual environment to hang-out, this is your place. This was stop #1 for my wife and I on a hot Sunday afternoon. The walk from the downtown are was not bad. Helped build our thirst. The beer selection was very well rounded. The bar-keep we're very helpful in providing samples, so we were both able to find one we liked. The only thing missing is a kitchen, but they did offer food via local delivery from neighboring food joints. This didn't fit our needs, so it was off to another place. I will go back! read more

If I manage to get an admission ticket to heaven when I die, it will be exactly like the Pourhouse. We all stopped by pretty often at the end of the work day when I was doing boat work at the Haven. Pluses: It's right inside a working port. It's beyond casual. It caters to locals in a tourist town. Prices are reasonable. It's got a great beer selection, including a cold case filled with a creative selection of bottles, along with a dozen rotating beers on tap. Local bands. Some nice snacks, but there's a binder of takeout menus on the bar, and the staff encourages people to bring in food. Your best options: 1-2-3 Thai or SeaJ's for fish and chips. Games, bocci and ping pong. Great views of PT Bay. A friendly staff. Very high odds of running in to someone you know. read more

I've been three or four times when visiting PT, it's got interesting beer on tap, I usually have a non-alcohol that is better than average. You can bring food and eat it in the courtyard, which is great on a summer evening.
