POV is definitely worth the visit. It's not in the middle of town so depending on where you live, it can be a bit of a drive. The atmosphere is by far the best thing they have going for them. The coffee shop is located outside of the Stella Hotel and the property is just beautiful. It overlooks a large pond and has a wonderful area to just stroll around outside. They have both outdoor and indoor seating options. The inside decor has a very modern feel and I love the family style table! Their special drink options are pretty good! My favorites include the Star, Sunset and Snowfall. Around Christmas they has had a lot of good seasonal drinks to try! The pastries are delicious too and I especially like the blueberry scone. Helpful hint, they have savings options on the Safe2Save app, so be sure to check those out! Atmosphere-wise, I don't think another coffee shop in town can beat this one. Pricing and quality-wise I think there are several others in town will win out. No matter, this is definitely a place you should try! read more

I have heard of this place because I live near by & just happened to go yesterday for the first time.... & I am in love!!!!! I loved it so much that I got up early to go study for a couple hours this morning and had the Charlie Brown which was one of the best coffees I've ever had!! I think this place is way too overpriced for the quality of pastries and coffee. I only come here if people want to meet up there to do work or if I have a lot of work to do and don't want to make the drive elsewhere. I've ordered espresso, London fogs and iced coffees here. The London fogs are fine but I paid a ridiculous price for it. Iced coffee was okay (but again not worth it) and the espresso wasn't so great The employees are always nice and accommodating but I am constantly surprised by the high prices. I would be fine paying that if I thought the quality of the coffee was good but unfortunately it's not. read more

Loved this place when it first opened up but I was disappointed coming back this semester and seeing it all changed. They had some of the best espresso I've ever tasted (and I'm a big coffee guy) but they changed their beans sometime over the summer. I believe they used to carry Merit Coffee out of San Antonio and it was incredible. This new vendor leaves a lot to be desired. They also don't have free WiFi anymore, you have to buy something for a code. It gets packed quick but the environment and aesthetic is very nice. read more

Pros: Lovely decor, quite place, has a great view of a lakewalk. Doubly awesome if you're sitting in the patio sipping on your beer or coffee while soaking in a beautiful sunset by the lake Cons: very few choices of coffee, beer or food. The servers always seem new (been here multiple times) and hence don't have much idea on the types of beer they have. Generally OK coffee, nothing great or amazing and a bit Luke warm. Ordered chocolate and elderberry croissants... barista asked if I wanted them warmed and I declined assuming they would be room temperature - however they were FROZEN, so I went back and asked to warm them a little... and was handed a lump of steaming hot pastry that was inedible. Favorite coffeehouse in town! Incredibly modern with great lighting and lots of seating. Unfortunately it didn't take very long for all of a&m to find out about it so it does get very crowded on the weekends and weekday afternoons. Drinks are great and they have a happy hour every Thursday! Some pastry items are half off after 3pm everyday. Highly recommend for studying or meeting up with friends. read more

I think everyone can agree with me that the location of this coffee shop is just perfect. It is one of my most favorite fall/winter coffeeshops. Just grab a hot drink and sit by the lake outside or climb up the tower for a very rewarding view of the lake. I am not much of a coffee drinker, but hot chocolate does the job really well if you want to come here for the experience. For the more adventurous people, you can try the "What's up Doc" which is a mixture of Dr. Pepper and Espresso. It is a little far out from town, but totally worth it on a good weather day! read more

I didn't realize how much I like POV until I found myself arriving in College Station about an hour earlier than I anticipated and found myself headed to POV to while away that hour. Their coffee is very good (Merit out of San Antonio), and they have some very nice pastry options as well. There is a lot of seating options, and it is not hard to find a comfortable place to sit. I wish there were not so many college kids camped out there, but I know that is an unrealistic expectation in a college town. read more

This is definitely more of a college kid hang out spot, so I avoid it for the most part even though it's super close to my house. The coffee is good- it's not overly sweet like Starbucks, which I appreciate. It's more on the bitter side compared to other local coffee shops, though, and I'm not a fan of overly bitter espresso. The staff has been great every time I have visited, and I've never had to wait long despite them being busy. Their hot drinks are less bitter than the cold brew. read more

The reason I gave this place 4 stars though is because the coffee is extremely overpriced. As a college student, no one wants to pay $7 for a tiny drink where half of the cup is filled with ice. I love merit coffee. This shop has quickly risen to prominence in the BCS area. They offer a very high quality bean, though the product is not all that consistent. The baristas are often a little cold and professional, but I am always happy to order an espresso here. Most of the menu is lacking though, as the quality of the coffee is greatly compromised by the lack of offering that isn't a form of flavored beverage. read more

Great coffee shop, love that they open at 6am. One of if not the only non Starbucks coffee shop intown open that early. I hate it when lattes are too sweet, and they nailed it on having flavor but not dripping with sugar at the bottom of your cup like some places. Great variety of food, beautiful view of lake atlas and plenty of dog friendly seating outside which is perfect. Have you ever heard the saying that you get what you pay for? In POV's case, you pay an exorbitant amount for awful quality. For a place with all the ingredients to make something great, I was served the worst cinnamon roll. I paid almost 6$ for the tiniest cinnamon roll, that literally tasted like it was made of whole wheat sandwich bread. It was somehow drier than sandwich bread actually. I can't see myself ever coming back here, and wouldn't recommend anybody to do so. But this was my experience on December 13th, 2018. I hope they step their game up. I feel cheated for paying so much for something that was worse than a canned Pillsbury. read more

Literally my FAVORITE coffee shop in town. Everyone is always so nice. They remember me name. I love to order the Snowfall Latte year round haha. The chocolate croissant is so delicious. The granola bars are on point. The ambiance is wonderful and a nice variety of coffee selections, snacks, salads, sandwiches, and wine. Unfortunately I can't give it more stars as we ordered coffee for here and received it in to-go cups. It's the reason we came...to sip on coffee while eating a snack. The kolaches were good (had blackberry) and served on a plate....but yet coffee was in plastic. One of our coffees was lukewarm/cool, the other was so hot we couldn't drink it for several minutes, and the other was warm. Unfortunately the Americano and Latte drinks were also very weak in coffee taste. The Sunrise coffee drink tasted artificial. Don't order the latte or cappuccino, it tasted like watered down coffee. I watched the girl make my drink, and she made a face like she made a mistake while making it, but I brushed it off. When I was handed the coffee and left, I finally took a sip of my latte and gagged at how it takes like watered down coffee. This is a great coffee joint for students, a quick meet up, or even a date place! It offers outdoor seating as well. They offer coffee and tea. I love their chai latte. Their prices include the tax as well so I thought that was neat. Only thing is that you need to order something to get the wifi password on the receipt or you could just get it from a friend who ordered before. Will be coming back here for study time. read more

Scooted over to the coffee shop to see what I could get. Literally I am on a knee scooter. The ladies were so lovely they made me a to go salad that really wasn't on their menu but they went out of their way to help me. Wasn't to busy but everyone there seemed to be enjoying their drinks and eats. I will definitely go back and tell people about their service. My salad was yummy and I am very pleased. Favorite coffee shop in Cstat! It's kind of an out of the way location but once you find it you realize it's a hidden gem! The coffee is superb (I got an americano first time and was so happy to find they serve great coffee that doesn't taste like burnt water...unlike several places I've tried here haha) and the pastries I've tried are pretty great also. Just wish they had extended hours for late study nights, they close kinda early for a coffee shop in a college town. read more
