I would recommend eating here even if you aren't a guest at the Waldorf. Amazing service (shout outs to Patrick, Kenny, John & more!) and delish food. I've already tried three stellar b-fast dishes: the mountain breakfast (standard eggs+meat+toast) chilaquiles (if you want a kick- spicy eggs+tortillas+beans) and the spinach and avocado eggs Benedict. We also had lunch here (!!) so I can also recommend the tortilla soup and Wagyu beef burger. Bottomless coffee and sides of sriracha make this an easy 5 star experience. read more

Since we were guests of the hotel, we decided to have dinner here one night rather than venture into Park City. I was expecting a meal and experience equally as nice as the hotel but was disappointed. We walked in about an hour before close and the host seemed not so thrilled to see another party coming in. We were seated on the patio toward the front on the patio. Service started out great but dropped off. It took about 20 minutes after menus were delivered for the server to return to take our order. In the meantime a table that arrived some minutes after us received their appetizers. Once ordered, our apps came out pretty quickly. I had the Utah creamed corn which tasted fresh, creamy, crunchy and excellently seasoned. Entrees took at least another 30 minutes to arrive. We were also then asked if we wanted bread to start our meal (uh, that would have been great 45 minutes ago). The bread was great but wish we had it at the start of the meal when other diners apparently did. I had the shirt ribs and some sort of polenta. Overall it was just okay. I wondered if the reason it took so long was because it was near closing time. We had the beignets for dessert. They didn't knock my socks off. Great restaurant just a short gondola ride from the orange bubble at the canyons resort in park city. Great cocktails using local spirits. They have some great appetizers surprisingly well done for a ski resort. The executive chef is from Austria and does a great tasting menu matching the meals with select wines and champagne made for a wonderful experience. This one is a tough call. The food quality and pricing was phenomenal. But the hygiene and concern for hygiene was abyssal. They were pulling up the carpet right next room and the only protection was a curtain. So it easily got dusty and we switched to a table farther away. Other than that I had no complaints and since I didn't get sick or feel bad at all I guess it wasn't too bad in terms of hygiene apart from that dusty cloud one day. They had the best fries I had ever eaten. One of the best burgers I had eaten. And THE best wild salmon that I had ever tasted, now I only want to eat wild salmon to see whether it was Powder's deliciousness or whether it was wild salmon in general that made it so perfect. The service and the food were both bad. Mind boggling the prices they charge for what you get. I live in the New York City area and have dined at many fine restaurants. This is not a nice restaurant at all. The wine came to the table after the bread and appetizer were served. The white wine was warm and they put it on ice and claimed that would chill it. The wine had actually gone bad. First time ever that I have been served a bad wine. It was vinegar. The manager finally tasted it and agreed and gave us another bottle. It was better, but I felt it was still slightly off. My fish was over cooked and my sons short ribs were dried out. They had to bring us new dishes. My fish was still over done but I ate it anyway. They give you a sauce to put on it, and I guess that's because they serve it dried out. My son said the difference between the first short rib and the second given was like night and day. A good restaurant would not try to serve bad food and get away with it. They gave us a free desert for our troubles. Big deal! The only thing that was good at the restaurant was the homemade bread and then bread pudding desert. Wow! I'm still in shock at how bad it was. I just went to Sistina in NYC yesterday and the contrast in experiences was so stark. Those Park City people need to go to New York to find out about good food and service. My advice is don't even bother with the "fine" restaurants in Park City. They are all bad and not worth it. read more

We had an excellent dinner there last weekend. We started with some truffle fries which were awesome. The butternut bisque was nice and the winter fruit salad was really well balanced The roasted venison was the star of the entrees with perfectly cooked meat. We had a lovely dinner. Complimentary panna cotta with pickled radish and jalapeño. It was delicious with a nice heat on the tail end. I had the wagyu bavette steak with carrots and duck fat "adult tator tots" and kale. The chermoula was delicious. My protein was cooked great. It was a fun dish that had diverse flavors that married well together. My husband had the sea bass dish with artichokes and pickled onions. HUGE disappointment I had low expectations since it was New Years Eve but the restaurant and staff managed to even go below my meager expectations We were seated 56 minutes after our scheduled reservations and it was so obvious that the biggest whiny guest would be catered to while the rest of us can be treated like trash. From a Celiac: There's no dedicated gluten free menu, but the majority of the menu is inherently gluten free already or easily modifiable. I had the carrots with Thai yogurt and it was absolutely amazing! Spicy but so wonderful! Roasted cauliflower topped the dish to give it a little crunch. I loved it! Had the Seabass that was on the tasting menu with lobster sauce. It was good. Not the best Seabass I've ever had, but still good. The top was crunchy which was different. Good wine list. The glasses were so crystal clear and our cold Ponzi Pinot Gris tasted incredible in those! A little detail that made such a big difference. I'll definitely return. Cosmopolitan was missing something and their speciality drink was way too tart. The initial chef soup was cold and it was supposed to be warm. 5 stars for Shelby, our server. She was friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. Another 5 stars for the bartender (sorry forgot his name) for truly the best old fashioned I've had to date. He used High West bourbon and rye with house made bitters that made me want a second but I restrained myself so I could eat. As for food, the pork belly app was delish. The French onion soup was very rich and had strong sherry notes so if you prefer more savory less sweet it might not be your style. The dry aged bone in New York was my husbands favorite of the night. We added the duck confit potatoes and the mushrooms for sides. They were a little salty for me so I kinda regret not getting the Brussels sprouts and the special side which was a creamy truffle polenta which were Shelby's recommendation. Note to self: always get what the server recommends. The ambience was lively even though the season just ended. Our reservation was at 7:45 pm. We were finally greeted by our waiter at 8:15-8:20 pm, our drinks and appetizers came 30 minutes later. We finally ordered our main course and that took LITERALLY an hour later! We ordered the wagyu beef burger and the steak and Fritz which should have taken less than 30 minutes to come out to our table but it took over an hour for 2 entrees and also while our wine glasses we EMPTY we did not get a refill until we were half way done with our entrees. The waitress finally came back to asked us if we would like dessert and we didn't even bother because it was now 10:30 pm (2 hours and 45 min after our reservation at 7:45 pm) If you like TERRIBLE service, mediocre food, worst management of a restaurant I've EVER experienced and also very over priced food! The Waldorf Astoria, Powder Restaurant is a complete TRAIN WRECK! It's definitely worth it to go up to Deer Valley area restaurants or Main Street area for dinner. I ordered the special, it was a Moon fish served on top of some kinda of corn and root vegetable. I have never had corn taste so good. It really complimented the fish. This is the second time I have tried powder. The first time I sat at the bar, the second time I went with a large party and we sat in the back wine room. In both cases the waiters were rude and quite slow. You could not get more than 2 drinks during a 2-3 hour meal if you begged for it. It's not a complex multi course meal, they are just very slow. For example it was about 30-40 min after we handed our cards to the waiter to pay before they came back. It always is disappointing when you visit restaurants that are competing at the highest level but perform at levels much lower than chain restaurants. The food was good. We ordered the charcuterie board, fried chicken and the pappardelle. Sides we got the vegetables and the truffle fries. Highly suggest all those items. They were unique and tasty. The food was very good. If you're staying at the Waldorf I would definitely recommend edge steakhouse over powder just 2-3 min up the street. Otherwise head to Main St for tons of other options. I hope you guys improve the service. Nothing worse than bad service and rude staff. Keep up the good work on the food. Tips: sit at bar 2-3x faster, small party's only, fries are a must. read more

Let's start with the service, made a reservation, upon arrival I was told to wait 15 minutes. Upon being seated we waited 10 minutes until a server even approached us asking if we wanted water. After ordering drinks, our server came back again to verify what we ordered, simply a dirty martini. After ordered entrees we were then told our starters had not even been entered. So far, service is a severe disappointment. Started with the ceviche which was sub par at best. The chips were too oily and the flavor was super bland. The majority of my table ordered the burger and ghost frites. I will say the burger did not disappoint. The duck fat aioli is a perfect compliment to the frites and burger. The items we ordered came from the bar menu, which seemed to speak to us better. I wish I could say I'll be back, but my experience was severely tainted by this visit. My family and I have been to the restaurant 3 times. This is the "3 strikes and your out" review. The first time, a year and a half ago, adequate service, one hot entree, 3 luke warm entrees. Second visit was during 2017 Sundance festival. Dropped into the bar for a $19 burger that was served with no lettuce, tomato, etc and no offer for side salad or fries. Again, server seemed annoyed to be bothered by customers. This week we dropped in for "Burger and Brew" Thursday special at bar. Both burgers were overcooked. We provided feedback to the overworked and annoyed waitress and she challenged us with the definition of "Medium rare". Fortunately, the manager did stop by and we provided him feedback on food prep and he comped one of the burgers. Solid move on his part. read more

Service: Ever been to a car lot with a salesman who wasn't going to let you leave without buying? Well, that was Mike, our waiter. I think he was trying to set a personal record on turning tables the night we ate there (which was 2-18-16). Oh, and I wish I could see him again to let him know that today wasn't really National Wine Day, as he told us it was in order to prime us to order more wine. I Googled it later-it's May. If I had a bad product to sell, with little expectation of repeat orders from the customer, then Mike would be my guy! The manager was a very nice guy but that doesn't help having a worthless and pushy waiter. Food: My wife LOVES fried chicken and she sent hers back. I tried it as well and it was super dry. I had the Utah trout and though it was also overcooked and under seasoned, I ate it as I didn't feel like swinging by McDonalds. The sweetbreads I thought were very good though the wife didn't. As for "The Egg" appetizer, have you ever had food that impressed you by how bland perfectly good food could be prepared? A boiled egg would have tasted more savory. The bread & butter were good though! Basically, the food was all bland and overcooked and very disappointing, and came out very quick. That speed by which it was delivered should have been our first clue. Lastly, I think they must have had a short delivery on wine this night as Mike dispensed his pour as if it were the last supper. Ambiance: The restaurant and bar are very nice though there is no view other than the pool area. We decided to go to Powder thinking it was in Deer Valley and would have nice views, however once I mapped it I found out it was in the Canyons. We decided to try it out as we'd not been there before. Next time we plan to spend that kind of $$ and want some higher end ambiance, it wont be at the Canyons. Which is a shame because I've stayed here multiple times and the property is amazing, the service folks very good but this restaurant needs some serious love and attention. Our waiter basically snubbed us when we asked what the veggies were for the night with a reply of "well, there are about 11 ingredients and I'd have to ask". Well.. then ask.
