Power will start off by having some poor soul go door to do and come to your house to offer a consultation on a new roof. This was actually the most pleasant part of this entire experience. My wife and I were actually in the market for a new roof as ours was getting up there in age so I thought why not (big mistake). After you a schedule a consultation, a guy pretending to know a lot about roofs but is really just a salesman will show up to your house and act like everything is terrible and about to fall apart. He will say you need an immediate roof replacement and try to tack on a bunch of add-ons like gutter replacements. You will find out later the add-ons are unnecessary and the guy seriously embellished the severity of your roofing problems once you speak to actual roofing experts. But nonetheless, at this point you don't know that and he will upcharge you by tens of thousands of dollars (I believe he started at around 40K with all the add-ons then brought it down to a still insane amount of 25K) The guy will then discourage you from reaching out to other roofing companies and give you this "first day signing" interest rate of 9.99% saying that if you do not sign that day it will be double (and obviously no one is going to be paying close to 20% interest on a roof replacement) . Little did we know at the time that 9.99% rate is actually just the standard roofing interest rate that most companies will give you if you finance through the most popular roof financing companies (I.e green sky, service finance) but I digress. The guy was at our house for about a total of 6 hours basically taking up our whole evening walking back to his car and back into our house with some clear salesman tactic motive behind this (the more exhausted they get the more likely they are to say yes?). To top it all of, he had this cheesy "I'm a human being" speech which is clearly scripted as I've read this in other reviews as well. We eventually agreed to conditionally sign the contract for $25K since he had to notify us of a law which states we can null a contract within 3 days. We did more of our own research just to find out we were essentially being scammed and immediately sent a letter, email and phone call to Power to cancel this roofing service within the time window. You'd think this would be the end of it ? Think again. Instead of just cancelling it and leaving us alone they cancelled the first contact (because by law they have to) but sent an even bigger schmuck by the name of Rocko out to essentially tell us that the other guy is a moron who didn't know how to measure or do anything and the price is now actually 15K. It was again, an obvious salesmen tactic of "Oh sorry the last guy was terrible I agree he's terrible but I know what I'm talking about and I'm on your side". There was one point where he also said "Just like he tells his wife that he does not need her, Power doesn't need your business". Ok then why are you sitting in my house now? Is this something you tell all your customers? Also what a poor woman. He also attempted to guilt trip me because "he had to drive all the way from NY" Ok man, I didn't tell you to come nor do I want you here. We basically told him we'll take the reduced contract (because it was an actual semi-decent roofing price for the size of our project) but we notified him that we'd look at other contractors and have some coming. Immediately the next day we canceled that second contract after we got some other quotes and thankfully they've never contacted us again. Power's second quote was comparable to the others but because of their behavior there was no chance we'd ever go with them. We got our roof done by a local company who was friendly, easy to deal with and didn't use these terrible salesmen practices. Moral of the story: If someone comes to your door mentioning Power Remodeling, always decline. read more

It's been 2 years since my house was worked on. I still check in on reviews to see if they have gotten better. Seems like they've gotten worse. I know they've gotten worse because I called and asked them for help today and that was too much trouble. They basically told me to just leave it as is. To be honest etter for both of us. Saves me the headache of dealing with them and saves them from actually having to do decent work which they cannot do. They certainly let did not help right away but they did offer to come out to spend 5 minutes to squirt an ounce of caulk for $250. They wouldn't tell me where I can get the color match caulk from but I didn't expect any help. Do yourself a favor. When they knock don't answer. Be just as rude to them as they are to you. They want your money but they don't want to treat you with the respect you deserve to get your money. So happy I chose another company to replace my roof. There are great products in the market and great installers that will beat and match Power in every aspect. The joy I get when I hear the name Power Home Remodeling comes from me telling friends to stay away and to give your hard earned money to caring companies. Notice other companies don't have some long "Customer Bill of Rights" to share. It's because they let their work speak for themselves. They don't need to lie about how they are going to treat their customers, they actually show you. Power sucks you in with that crap and then once they are paid they throw that crap out. The company sends young people around neighborhoods to try and drum up business. Fine. They sold my wife on a free estimate as our roof is about 20 years old and in need of replacing. Great! The company called to confirm our 11:00 am estimate meeting and when I said my wife won't be there, they asked when she would be there. I replied that my wife's schedule is very busy and left me to take care of the details. The gentleman cancelled our meeting then and there and offered that we call back to reschedule when we can both be there. Really bad! I see by other Yelp reviews that this is their standard operating procedure and not an isolated incident. So if this is their business model and works for them, God bless. But in doing so, they are leaving a trail of highly dissatisfied folks around the country. I ended up calling a roofing company recommended by a friend around the corner and our new re-shingled roof was up in three days, just in time for the winter ... and at a wonderful rate. Be very careful with Power. Had a salesman come by the day before yesterday, very friendly and personable, and he was a young guy probably working on commission, so I figured what the heck, I'll sign up for a free consultation and price quote on getting siding done on my house. Scheduled to have someone come over one o'clock the next day. The next day, one o'clock comes and goes, nobody shows up. Then at one-thirty I hear someone shouting in my front yard, "Hello! Hello!" I'm like, doesn't anyone knock? I open the door, and I say to him, "Are you the person coming to give me the quote on siding?" And his response is, "I don't know, you tell me!" Not exaggerating. This was his response. Most people would have slammed the door in his face, but I figured this would be interesting, a kid maybe 23 years old giving a 41 year-old potential customer attitude before we even get the ball rolling on a deal. So I tell him I'm the one who made that request, and he introduces himself and tells me he's going to take some measurements and then sit down with me. This process turns into quite an unnecessary production. Another guy shows up, and I really don't know why, because he said and did next to nothing. This was a one-man job, Power didn't need to pay two. They both come in before taking any measurements, sit down, talk to me for a minute, and then tell me they have to get something and both step out. When they're outside and on the street about fifteen feet away in front of my house, I hear the rude one tell the quiet guy, "This guy can't afford us, he's not biting on anything, I can already tell." Now I'm angry, but I figure I'll let this play out so I can leave a review. They come in and discuss some siding examples with me, then step out again to do measurements. A minute later they call me outside and tell me they need to show me something. They bring me to my backyard and show me a hairline crack in my foundation with a few ants scurrying up the corner, and tell me this is a problem. But they don't offer a solution, because there is none: they're essentially showing me that there are bugs outdoors, and the bugs have the temerity to climb on my house. What threw these guys off was the fact that I didn't really react at all to what they were showing me. What do you even say to that, anyway? Then they take me around the corner and ask me about my kitchen window, which is the only one original to the house (it was built in 1953). I tell them yeah, that window is a pain the rear, and they laugh and tell me they don't do replacement jobs for just one window, and my other windows are fine. Again, why exactly did we have that conversation? I wanted the last five minutes of my life back. We go through a few more of these completely pointless discussions, and they come in. At this point I just want a price, with measurements taken and everything accounted for on the exterior of my home. The guy then shows me what he says are the "industry average prices" for service - $25K for 10 new windows is near the top of the list. This is clearly a bizarre price. The average single window replacement shouldn't be any more than $700, $1200 for larger windows, and even if you had ten done at $1400 each, the job shouldn't be more than $14K. Where are they getting these insane prices? So to test if these guys knew these numbers were stupid, I look at the window prices and say, "Well, that's not bad, $25K for ten windows. Five thousand per window." And the guy says, "What, no! These are terrible prices!" Which left the obvious question: Why are you showing me fictional prices for contract work? The answer is so that Power can bundle up a bunch of products into a contract job and make their insanely inflated price seem reasonable to the gullible consumer. The guy then tells me that he can get my siding done with full window frame replacement and gutter replacement for, wait for it . . . $39K. That's right, my 1000 square-foot house in Waterbury, CT will cost $39K, half the value of the house when I bought it in 2014. Then it gets better. I don't react to his price. I thank him for taking the time to look at everything and for being thorough (I mean, after all, pointing out that there are ants in my yard is thorough), and signal that now that I have his price in writing, it's a good time to wind this down. By this point these guys are in my house for over an hour. That's when our conversation goes into talking about what I'd be willing to pay up front in cash. Mind you, Power told me they don't charge a penny to its customers until the job is finished. So that was directly contradicted right there. Then, amazingly, he tells me that if I were to put down $20K in cash up front, he could give me the very same job that he just quoted for $29K at a 9% rate. Then they get up and walk out for no apparent reason, leaving their stuff. I brought their stuff out to them and told them we were done. Be careful: I think Power is a scam. read more

A Power corporation representative paid me a visit and informed me that in his professional opinion, my existing siding shingles were in ill repair and that I should consider installing brand new vinyl siding over them. He provided pictures of what my siding would look like if I were to entrust the job to Power Corporation. He further suggested that this vinyl siding was an optimal choice as they are unbreakable and durable. The work was supposed to take 3 days. So of course I was surprised when the job had been completed within 8 hours. Returning from work, I examined the completed job and was disgusted by the shoddy, inferior hastily completed work. This was not the work that I was promised and it was certainly not the job that I would ever willingly pay 21000$ for. I want to pay for the quality work I was promised and I expected not for the appalling job you provided which included workers who: 1. Urinated in the driveway of my home where neighbors and my daughter could clearly see him. 2. Broke my garage door keypad 3. Broke the top of my tree and hid it behind the bushes. 4. Left dozens of nails and litter all over the driveway 5. Dangerously replaced my flagpole using the wrong sized screws. The flagpole fell nearly hitting my husband. 6. Left open seams that I was promised would not be visible. 7. Left glue dripping by the light switches and sockets. 8. Left cracked and ripped (indestructible) panels around the light switches and sockets. If they had shown me a picture of the garbage job done to my home, I would have never entered into an agreement with this corporation. As a result, I no longer trust them or any promises they make. If the poor work can be so clearly observed by a lay person as myself, how poor must the quality of the work be beneath the surface? What kind of issues and hazards will that create for me and my family in the future? The work is shoddy, the 'unbreakable panels' are cracked and broken and some appear to be ripped instead of cut. These need to come down and new panels need to be installed properly. The issues they confront as a result of their shoddy work, is not my concern. My concern is their attempt to rob me of 21000$ for a job they did not provide. I want them to take down the siding so that I can hire a reputable company to do the job correctly. read more

Found out who they were from fair, had the representative come out, great guy, could not tell me how each panel would be, but gave me a grand total. Raise company has the WORST consultation process, fill out a form, then the representative call a service desk and have me repeat the form, then when they call to set up app, they asked for same info, and the during the actual visit, had repeated the form, HORRIBLE experience. Should of known to say no. The company ensured the representative to push for sale, which deterred me, but since the repair is something on list, they gave a hefty discount, but still expensive. I wanted to cancel due to buyers remorse, but the company wanted me to pay the same amount to cancel due to status of order being prepared (which I undertake). Day of install, they changed the date and did not compensate for the inconvenience, which they should have, since I couldn't back out of contract as it was. DO NOT USE THEM. read more

I finally feel like my house has a proper roof. This company did a wonderful job stripping off three layers of shingles and a cedar strip in one day. I also had new gutters put on. All of this will add to the energy efficiency of the air flow of my home as well keeping it dry and safe from mold growth with a 50 year warranty. It may have been a bit more expensive than some local companies but the product is far superior. Their personnel are very efficient and professional. The work site was left in great shape. We have two homes. This review is about our home in Coram, NY. This company has a great sales pitch. They tell you that they only use professionals and their work is superior to other companies offering the same services but that is not true. What is true is they charge a lot more and use cheap labor. At least that is our experience. We signed a contract to have our attic insulated for $15,000.00. When the date came, the "professionals" showed up but they had no light to illuminate the attic. Since the company had already been in our attic and knew there was no light so these people should have known this. My husband gave them a hanging work light so they could see what they were doing. While talking to them, we found out they were from Maryland. They drove up here just for the day to do this job. They had little previous experience but they assured us they knew what they were doing. Foolishly, we trusted them since Power Home Remodeling told us they only used "professionals". Later, when it was time to blow in the insulation, the hose broke filling my daughter's room with insulation. These "professionals" had no equipment to clean it up. We lent them our shop vac to get the job done. After cleaning up the mess, they completed the project and told my husband he had to sign a completion certificate. At first, he refused because he is unable to get into the attic to check but they refused to leave until he signed it. We were told quality control would be coming in a little while to check the work so he foolishly signed the completion agreement. After the workers left, we received a call from quality control saying they wouldn't be able to come to our house that night as one of the projects ran late but they would call us tomorrow and arrange a time to check the work. My daughter came home to find insulation in her room that the "professionals" missed. She didn't want to sleep in the mess so she finished cleaning it herself. Needless to say, we never heard from Power Home Remodeling again. About a month or so later, two salespeople showed up at our door trying to sell us more services. We told them we were not interested and why we wouldn't deal with this company again. They told us that our experience was unusual and made a call to someone in their company to report our problems. We were assured that someone would be calling and everything would be checked. No one ever called! In October, we noticed mold in our bathroom and bedroom. Also, the bathroom is now very cold. We've lived here 30 years and never had this problem before. We called them explaining that we don't know if they insulated that area properly as no one ever came to our house to check it. We were told we need to wait until April for them to come to our house to check it and to take pictures of the mold. In other words, we need to deal with mold and a cold bathroom for six months before they can come to our house to check it. This is very unethical, considering this should have been done last July when the work was supposedly completed. Power Home Remodeling is no different than any other company that makes promises to get your hard-earned money. They used non-professional workers whose work was questionable; they never had their quality control check the work and, when called to do so, they gave an excessive wait time for something that should have been done when the work was done. We could have hired a local worker for less and the job probably would have been done better and cheaper with more oversight. read more

The most annoying company going - every other month they go door to door to try to get new clients. Every single time I have said "no thank you", all but the ones who came to my door today refuse to take no for an answer. Most push and push and push and won't leave your property unless you either set up and appointment or threaten to call the police. I also happen to have a "no soliciting" sign up which either they don't know the meaning of or they just chose to ignore. I politely asked the guys who came to my door today to please make a note for future salesman from their company to skip my house - he promised to do so, but I guarantee when they come around again in August my bell will be rung again. I should also warn anyone considering this company - DON'T - some people in my community have hired them to do various jobs - and everyone of them said the same thing - Power Home Remodeling takes your money (they demand full payment before they even start), start the job and never complete it. read more

Avoid by all means! One window came with a missing part. Close to 2 months after the installation, they still have not delivered it. Two windows do not lock properly and, again, despite the fact that they promised to fix that before the end of November, beginning of December (worse scenario), they haven't done anything yet (it is Dec 20 as I write this). No phone calls, no messages about the delay---just as if they never existed. This after several discussions with them where they **repeatedly promised** to fix these things after installation! Moreover, the kitchen window they installed is just straight ugly. They never showed us a picture of it before installation. Do not believe any of their promises, especially the supposed lifetime warranty. First, this is not with the manufacturer but with them. When you'll need it, you'll find it is extremely difficult to get them to do anything. If you do manage to speak to a representative, they'll tell you to wait for a few to several months because they have to order the parts, only to find out that NOTHING will happen after waiting for so long, and then they'll ask you to wait more, perhaps indefinitely. Avoid by all means! Their entire service/sales team is oriented toward fraudulent inducement via deliberate lack of information, deliberate misinformation, or straight out lies. read more
