Crab rangoons, egg roll, fries, and chicken wings. Lackluster plate, I know, but this is only food picture I have of this place
Clark E.

A few things to say. First off, the food; the make or break of any restaurant. Great. The crayfish are delectable, and lo mein is nice too. Some grievances however, the fries are a bit undercooked, and having the ice cream just out like that isn't the most sanitary. I haven't seen much wrong with the service, the lady (or guy) at the front sits us down, and we get refills every once in a while. Then they hand us the bill, and that's really it. I like the string lights in the place, it adds to the ambiance. I always look forward to coming here. Will come agian.

Vegetable lo mein, beef broccoli, general Tso's chicken

This restaurant came highly recommended, however if I could receive a refund, I'd gladly take it. First off, the person at the door acted as if she couldn't care less whether customers came in or not. This was a very poor first impression. Why did t I leave then? Shame on me!!! She barely even directed me to a seat....no people skills...AT ALL!!! I will say my server was phenomenal! She was extremely attentive, kind and professional. I couldn't have been more pleased with her service. The food...well, another story. Just about everything I chose was not hot...in fact, it was barely warm. Are you serious? Maybe the burners were worn out...I don't know, but it was awful. I wonder if the food was hot if it would've made a difference....it was just that bad and several selections were flavorless... One thing's for sure...I don't plan on returning. I'm an Asian food connoisseur and I've had a thousand times better. It's a wrap!

This is the first buffet with Chinese that I've been too in a very very long time. But this one is probably one of the best I've ever been to. Very clean, excellent service and the food is topped off regularly with fresh hot varieties. My favorite was the General Tsaos Chicken very flavorsome, slight crunch with spicy sweet sauce. Delish! The Egg rolls, and the soups were very good, sushi was very good too and very fresh tasting except for the artificial crab on the one. But it still tasted great. Wasn't a fan at all of the beef n broccoli and the spring rolls had an odd taste to it. Husband got the Mongolian bar to make his dish and the one pictured was his second trip. He loved it. The bar was missing a non fried version of Chinese like Moo Gai Pan or garlic chicken, fresh shrimp or chicken spring rolls would be ideal for me personally and so that was a bit of a disappointment but maybe today wasn't the day for that. The dessert bar was large and had fruit, puddings, cakes, those lil yummy sugar donut thingys. Anyway, we will come back here and it's just down the street from us basically.

Always good! Friendly helpful employees. Tables kept cleared which is a must for me at a buffet. Sushi is always fresh.

Dirtiest restaurant I've ever been to and it smelled like sewage. I wish we had walked out. We will never go back.

The buffet has a reasonable selection. The price has increased significantly though. Thus, this option is much less a value choice.

The food is consistently good! Love the Jalapeño Chicken! I wish they would make the fried noodles for the soup! I go at least once a month!

Not that great of a selection. Crawdads were raw a couple time I went. Sushi selection isn't that big either.

Ask the Community - Asian Buffet

Is it customary to tip buffets?

Yes, for the waitstaff who clear your table. Many buffets you pay in advance so I leave a cash tip from 10% to 20% depending on level of service delivered.

The place was warm and perfect for a cold winter day. Space was decorate all over and seeing a handful of customers and staff was reassuring too. The server was so nice and seated us right away. Looking over the menu we order a ramen bowl, sushi, and a bubble tea. Everything came out fresh, hot, and delicious. It was great and we can't wait to visit again. Perfect little gem that's not packed and great for date nights.

We no longer felt like we were old friends and they were happy to see us, but just customers. Service was slow and sporadic. The menu is kind of the same, bit the food was completely different. I have never had salty such rolls before. Could barely eat the Alaskan roll for the salt and that was without soy sauce. Had to ask for Wasabi for our rolls. Teriyaki chicken had a nice flavor, so kudos on that part of the meal. Previously, Omo's was our go to restaurant when we got to KC. I have just been given an excuse to try other restaurants. Ambiane looks the same, but music was way too loud and even the chopsticks are nice, but not as nice as they were. But, at least they aren't disposable. We miss the old chef and waiter.

My husband and I visited Noka for our anniversary, and from the moment we sat down, it felt like an…read moreexperience rather than just dinner. First, the aesthetics are an easy 11/10. Every detail feels intentional, from the plating and presentation to the atmosphere itself. As someone who appreciates design, Noka absolutely delivers. Food-wise, there were two undeniable stars of the night: * Wagyu Nigiri (100/10) - One of the best bites I've ever had. Rich, buttery, perfectly balanced, and worth ordering every single time. * Crab Campanelli (11/10) - Absolutely incredible. Comfort food elevated to fine dining quality. If I came back tomorrow, I'd order this again without hesitation. Other highlights: * Filet (10/10) - Beautifully cooked, incredibly flavorful, and paired with perfectly prepared bok choy. Everything on the plate felt intentional. * Night Market Wings (8.5/10) - The quality was excellent. The sweet heat profile just wasn't exactly my personal preference, but that's purely subjective. If you enjoy spicy food with a lingering, slightly numbing heat, you'll probably love these. * Shrimp Tempura Roll (8/10) - Very good and executed well. * Tuna Roll (7/10) - Good, but it was the least memorable item compared to some of the standout dishes we ordered. Noka excels at creating a complete dining experience. Beautiful atmosphere, thoughtful presentation, excellent service, and several dishes that genuinely surprised us. For a special occasion, date night, or anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in Kansas City, it's absolutely worth a visit.

The entrance is hidden like a speakeasy, which immediately makes it feel exclusive and like you found something special. Inside, the build out is dialed in. It has that perfect mix of rustic and modern, with a warm and elevated feel that makes you want to stay and enjoy the whole experience. The service stood out just as much as the food. The servers were on point, gave great recommendations, and even suggested places for us to check out after dinner. That kind of attention and hospitality goes a long way. The food was unreal. The scallops and the wagyu nigiri was next level. We ended up ordering multiple rounds of both because it was that good. NOKA is not just a place to eat, it is an experience. Definitely a spot I would go back to and recommend to anyone in Kansas City.
