This restaurant came highly recommended, however if I could receive a refund, I'd gladly take it. First off, the person at the door acted as if she couldn't care less whether customers came in or not. This was a very poor first impression. Why did t I leave then? Shame on me!!! She barely even directed me to a seat....no people skills...AT ALL!!! I will say my server was phenomenal! She was extremely attentive, kind and professional. I couldn't have been more pleased with her service. The food...well, another story. Just about everything I chose was not hot...in fact, it was barely warm. Are you serious? Maybe the burners were worn out...I don't know, but it was awful. I wonder if the food was hot if it would've made a difference....it was just that bad and several selections were flavorless... One thing's for sure...I don't plan on returning. I'm an Asian food connoisseur and I've had a thousand times better. It's a wrap!

This is the first buffet with Chinese that I've been too in a very very long time. But this one is probably one of the best I've ever been to. Very clean, excellent service and the food is topped off regularly with fresh hot varieties. My favorite was the General Tsaos Chicken very flavorsome, slight crunch with spicy sweet sauce. Delish! The Egg rolls, and the soups were very good, sushi was very good too and very fresh tasting except for the artificial crab on the one. But it still tasted great. Wasn't a fan at all of the beef n broccoli and the spring rolls had an odd taste to it. Husband got the Mongolian bar to make his dish and the one pictured was his second trip. He loved it. The bar was missing a non fried version of Chinese like Moo Gai Pan or garlic chicken, fresh shrimp or chicken spring rolls would be ideal for me personally and so that was a bit of a disappointment but maybe today wasn't the day for that. The dessert bar was large and had fruit, puddings, cakes, those lil yummy sugar donut thingys. Anyway, we will come back here and it's just down the street from us basically.

I love salt & pepper shrimp! I can only find it the at chinese buffets. So while scrolling thru yelp..I come across this place. I called and the gentleman that answered was very friendly. I inquired about the price of the buffet.. Etc. So fast forward..Once I walked into the buffet...a friendly man greeted me. I informed him that I was not from the area and asked if I could view the food items. He said yes...and low and behold...I spotted the shrimp on the buffet. The shrimp were seasoned soooo good. I honestly have to admit these are THE best salt & pepper shrimp to ever pass thru these lips. The ribs were tender and seasoned just right. I also had a few other items on the buffet that were so good. The buffet was clean, fresh food was constantly being bought out. The atmosphere was family oriented and the staff was very friendly. They also wore masks My only suggestion to management is to have a box of those inexpensive gloves by the buffet so that folks like me who like to lick their fingers after eating those good shrimps dont have to keep washing our hands before touching the serving spoons!!

Dirtiest restaurant I've ever been to and it smelled like sewage. I wish we had walked out. We will never go back.

The buffet has a reasonable selection. The price has increased significantly though. Thus, this option is much less a value choice.

Is it customary to tip buffets?

Yes, for the waitstaff who clear your table. Many buffets you pay in advance so I leave a cash tip from 10% to 20% depending on level of service delivered.

It felt cozy and welcoming rather than loud and hectic. Even though the space is small, there was a good mix of people -- quite a few larger groups dining together as well as some couples on dates. I started with the House Salad with ginger dressing, and also tried the Squid Salad. Unfortunately, the Squid Salad wasn't for me; it had a bit of an odd taste and didn't seem as fresh as the other items. However, the sushi more than made up for it! I ordered the OMG Roll, plus another roll that I can't quite remember the name of -- it was served on top of foil and was delicious. Both sushi rolls were absolutely amazing, fresh, and flavorful! My friend went with the Chicken Teriyaki Entree; the chicken tasted okay, though the sushi was definitely the star of the show. What really stood out was the service. The staff members were incredibly kind and patient. My friend's child was acting up and whining quite a bit, but the servers were very understanding and made us feel comfortable despite the fuss. If you're looking for a quiet spot with great sushi and a family-friendly staff, this is a great choice!

First, the vibe is so intimate and cozy. Getting in without reservations is tough unless you go at an odd hour. And if they do let you in, don't test them on the your time limit. Be extra grateful and make it easy so they can seat the actual pre-reserved folks. The place is small enough and the service is nearly 2:1, so they'll definitely remember you. With that said, we tried it best to be on good behavior but that Sake flight had us feeling spicy! Which I'll speak to next, the sake flight delightfully surprised me, and gave me a few things I liked enough to order again. Did not expect that. But I shouldn't be surprised, they're obviously going to have something wildly well-curated, given the successful history of Anjin's creator. I know I'm supposed to talk about the food. But it almost feels pointless. It was obviously amazing. It's a small curated menu. They're famous for their sandwich, whatever rotation they're serving will be sure to please you. They didn't have a lot of vegan options on the menu so my friend got the cabbage dish and it was absolutely wonderful as well. That might be my only watch out if somebody is a vegan, check out the latest menu before going. With such a curated, small menu it may or may not be in a vegan's favor depending on the season. And if it's not, just drink more sake! Can't wait to return, especially with those visiting from out of town to give them an authentic, locally-owned experience.

I rarely see omakase restaurants or izakayas open for lunch or on a Monday, so this was pretty exciting for me. I wandered in without a resy (I hear it is needed for dinner) and was seated at the bar. All three chefs were helpful and talkative. I ordered the chirashi lunch, and while I was assured it was enough to eat, I left myself open to future nigiri. I ordered an iced green tea to start, and it was served in a beautiful glass (see photo). It tasted like hojicha as it was roasty. First, I was served gomaae, blanched spinach in sesame dressing, which was very nice. Next was miso soup. The soup was lukewarm so not my favorite, but the presentation was nice. Then came my chirashi don: a small bowl with rice mixed with diced takuan on the bottom, an assortment of fish: masu (ocean trout), tai (sea bream), hamachi (yellowtail), akami (lean tuna), suzuki (sea bass), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), and o-toro (fatty tuna), accompanied with cucumber, shiso leaf, and thinly shredded daikon. While this was satisfying, the freshness and quality led me to try four additional nigiri: kinmedai (golden eye snapper) with lemon zest and charcoal salt, seared gindara (black cod) with yuzu miso, in-house cured saba (not on menu but glad it came up in conversation!), and for dessert, Hokkaido uni (also not on menu, but happened to be in and fresh)! Everything was fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. The service was wonderful too. I would love to return for dinner and enjoy the omakase experience (though it is available at lunch).
