So here is my dog's issues, or according to Anthony, my problem as a handler, simply put, my dog had me trained instead of the other way around. Dallas is a 2 1/2 yr old Doberman that liked to pull on leash, counter surf, had dog aggression especially towards male dogs his size, and dogs that have high energy level. Anthony showed me how to handle my dog according to his own unique characteristics, temperament. Dallas now heel on my left side when we walk, when he attempts to pull on the leash I know how to correct him, he stays off my counter and table(with e-collar, for now). I am also able to tame his aggression to the point I'm not stressed when other dogs approach him, I'm able to teach him to walk next to another dog until he's more comfortable, and close the distance. He was very easy to reach via call/text when I had questions before and during the training. I also received frequent update calls and videos on Taco's progress. I adopted a new dog from a rescue group a couple months ago. Great dog, really sweet in my house - but a terror to take on walks. He would go crazy whenever he saw other dogs around, lunging, jumping, barking, growling, wanting to take flight and go on the attack. I went with the 3 week training program to help with obedience and socialization. One of the main issues was that it was my first dog and I didn't have much of a clue how to properly train him. It's kind of like working out at the gym, you need a good foundation and reading 15 different techniques doesn't really help. I feel like after the training my dog is a lot more calm and with the proper technique he is on his way to success. I have had him back for about a week so I will see how it goes but so far he is a lot better than he was before. I do appreciate Anthony reaching out to voluntarily train longer just to get him to the right level, but that was not needed in the end. This review is for the Powerhouse K9 3-week bootcamp. Let me tell you, it really works. The training works. But you MUST trust the system and follow what Anthony tells you to do. Otherwise, what's the point of sending your dog to go through bootcamp? My dog was a high anxiety shepherd that could never sit still and never listen on walks. Think of all those crazy/scared dogs you see on Cesar Millan. That's like my girl. We had her do some training to learn basic commands, but it didn't help her when she was around new people, new places, or other dogs. My husband and I brought him our 9-1/2month puppy who had really bad anxiety around people and would bark and lunge at them. Picked up Kona after his 3 week training session today and boy was I impressed. Anthony got Kona out his kennel and right off the rip Kona was walking right on Anthony's hip and listened to his commands. Anthony would tell Kona to "place", which meant to sit on top of a platform, and he would actually do it! Kona would be told to stay and he would still be on the platform until we were on to the next part of training. Anthony is the real deal! I rescued Timber, my dog, from the SPCA. He was there for quite a while because of his size and lack of obedience(mostly nipping and jumping). Timber stayed with Anthony for 2 weeks. Before the training, it was difficult to take my dog anywhere. He is a large dog at about 100lbs so it was difficult to control him if he got riled up. He isn't aggressive but people tend to get nervous when they see such a large dog with a deep bark with the owner struggling to hold him back. It was very frustrating and became a chore to take Timber anywhere. I'd be exhausted by the time I got home with him, even on the shortest venture. Anthony was very straight forward and explained what to expect after his training. You have to be realistic in your expectations after the training. 2-3 weeks wont give you the perfectly trained dog you can walk off leash anywhere that will listen every single time. That's just not possible. If you think that off the bat, you're setting yourself up to be disappointed. The 2-3 weeks will however get your pup on track and lay a foundation to continue his training. It's ultimately up to the owner to build upon Anthony's training to mold how you wish your dog to behave. I must admit, I was originally skeptical because I thought my dog was so disobedient and stubborn that no one could train him. I did some research on a bunch of places in the Bay Area and found PowerhouseK9 and only a couple other place to have a 5 star review. However, Anthony had the fairest prices by far. Not everyone has thousands to spend on training and Anthony hasn't jacked up his prices to reflect his success and 5 star reviews like the other trainers out there have. He's a real down to earth guy. Now, I can walk my dog on leash without him dislocating my arm. I am also able to take him around other dogs, cats, and other distractions without him acting a fool. Timber will still get excited, but he isn't uncontrollable anymore. If he does get riled up, I check him, get him to refocus on me, and make him listen to my commands. He isn't perfect but getting better every single day I spend continuing his training at home. It would not of been possible without Anthony's help. Anthony even dropped Timber off to me and spent a couple hours showing me the do's and don'ts to continue his training. He even called me a week later to see how Timber was doing and if I was keeping up on his training. He's also available to call whenever I have concerns or questions. I plan on continuing his training at home for about a month more till his obedience is on point. Then I will be returning to Anthony for protection/guard dog training.
