And according to Michael, it looks like someone at the other shop I went to sabotaged my axels in some way He said he could see puncture marks that look intentional on both sides causing the oil to leak out or something He does highly recommend I get the bushing replaced in my steering wheel as soon as possible but that he'd only charge me around $200 to do it instead of $1600 so I'll have to get that done soon......... These type are shops that make women weary of even getting our cars worked on. She did find a shop that took care of her for a quarter of what this shop wanted to charge. Went to go get my brakes fixed because they were squeaking and it took them 4 visits to finally fix it for $200. After they "fixed it" for the fourth time the buttons on the drivers door were broken and when I pressed on them they went down inside the door. Had new drive shafts put in and one of them was faulty. I thought the mechanic was great as they replaced them for no charge and they worked fine. Went back in a month or so later and they replaced the exhaust manifold. The manifold cracked within 30 days and they charged me 100.00 in labor to replace. I thought that it was odd since they didn't charge me for the first crappy part they put in. I told them on the spot that I wouldn't come back and the front desk then said they would submit a claim and refund me any returns. Well I never heard back until I called and they "magically" had a refund of 54.00 - just enough for me not to sue for the remaining. Please join me in putting this poor quality, poor parts mechanic out of business for good. read more

Poor communication and lack of customer service. Had to re-tow my vehicle the morning after pickup due to continued overheating issues that should have been properly diagnosed the first time I towed in my vehicle. If you can go elsewhere I would advise that you do that. read more

Recently moved to Powhatan from Ohio. Had several people recommend this place unsolicited and I understand why. Friendly front staff. Mechanics are also very friendly. I went to another shop who couldn't figure out the problem (that they caused), but Powhatan tire found it in just a few minutes and fixed it. They don't try to upsell you, but do let you know if something else needs done (I had neglected a belt, they saw it was old and cracking, I had forgotten about it, so it was a helpful suggestion). That's the only time they've offered something I didn't ask for and I've been there several times. They are significantly less expensive than another place I went to. The sole reason I give them four stars instead of five are their hours. This seems to be a family run place, which I respect, but they have no evening or weekend hours. I think they close at 5:30 during the week. They were, however, open promptly at 7:30am when I took my car there this morning (oil change, tire rotation, tire repair and had me out by 8:00 am). read more

I've been dealing with these folks since I moved to Powhatan 8 years ago and have ALWAYS had extremely great treatment and service at very fair prices. They seem to keep "good people" working there which I think has to do with the fact that the management is excellent but also that they work a 5 day week and are closed on weekends. Most people out here enjoy hunting and fishing and family time.....so there are very few places a mechanic can work and have a schedule like these people do....it keeps them happy and motivated and that translates to great service. I recommend them to everyone! I have a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe that I have never once taken back to the dealer...I have these guys do all the required maintenance, oil changes etc. at less than "car dealer prices"...and I also have a 2000 Honda Accord that they keep in good shape for me as well. Prices on tires are fair and they do not try to "upsell" you on things you don't need yet. I appreciate this business very much and have a great comfort about their honesty and integrity. read more
