Well I must say, the experience was fantastic, Laura, the owner is extremely talented in her field, and knows pretty much everything about your skin, having worked for a dermatologist. I was so pleased with the results of the two groupon sessions, I have gone back every two weeks for a 6week skin rejuvenation. I will continue to go afterwards. I am 58 plus yrs old and my skin has never looked better. Now after 5 visits, i am seeing fine wrinkles disappear also. The salon itself is very nice and the owner is really sweet which is why it's not getting only one star, however if you don't do due diligence on your employees, how reputable can you be? This review is for the lash application by Semeka…read more I haven't got my eye lashes done in a while and saw a Groupon for Crème de La Lash (located at Salon Heaven & Spa). I booked my appointment about a month out and appreciated receiving a confirmation text. Sometimes I get worried when I book things so far an advance, but Semeka even sent me a reminder day of and was able to move my appointment time up. The salon itself is beautiful and pretty spacious. Very convenience location from the red line transportation. Having got my eye lashes done before I was sort of dreading laying there for an hour, but she played such good music I was almost able to fall asleep. I like that she did one eye at a time versus having both eyes taped and going back and forth between lash applications. Somehow that made a big difference in my comfort. (I'm a contact wearer) I love the results! Not too long that they look fake, but they do make a huge difference. I have very large eyes and you have to use a longer length in order to make them really stand out. As a side note something I will probably need to take up with Groupon, but she said that the deal where you get one full set of mink lashes and a follow up 4 week appointment is not correct. The follow up appointment is more so a filler appointment, but after four weeks you'll probably only have two lashes left and require a new set (which she is willing to charge a discount on). A little bit of sneaky advertising, but she said that Groupon would not fix it, so she opted to remove her groupon completely. We worked out something, but for others just a heads up! :)

I discovered Zizi's purely by chance. My FIL is a retired dentist and he still gets a crap load of…read moremagazines to his house that use to go to his office for his clients. Most of them are sent to my house to read since he doesn't read them. In the Chicago's Best issue of Chicago Magazine this year, there was an article about Zizi's in there being a place to check for getting your brows done. On the strength of that, I thought I would give it a try. I had my brows done several months ago out of desperation at a place I should not have gone to and it was a disaster. I had to basically let mine grow out to repair the damage. I made an appointment online for a Saturday at 8:30 am. Like other reviews stated, she was late but by 3-5 minutes, which was not a deal breaker for me. Once she showed up, she was very apologetic and quite lovely. Zizi was quite adorable and very personable. She talked me through the process of what she was doing, made recommendations and showed me how to apply brow make-up to enhance my brows. She also offered to tint my brows to make my hair. While I know a lot of women do the make-up and tinting, this is not something I would do...too much work for me. But Zizi did an amazing job on shaping my brows. It was relatively painless and she was pleasant to chat with while it was being done. She even them up and brought back my arch. The space itself is lovely...clean and calm. There's plenty of metered street parking. Even with being late, the entire process was less than 30 mins, which is what I put on the meter. By the time I got to the counter to pay, there was a steady stream of clients coming in. Zizi's not only does brows, but hair, facials and nails. Glad I got in when I did because it looked like it was going to be a busy day. I have already scheduled my appointment for next month with her.
