I contracted with Precise Air Systems through Costco. They promptly called to set up an appointment and provided multiple options, all with very competitive pricing. Oscar was very helpful walking through all the options for system replacement. On the install side, Jeff came in advance to take measurements and was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. The install went without any issues. The crew arrived promptly every day, cleaned up well at the end of each day, and even took care of modifying some existing ductwork/returns which weren't properly sized. They were very conscientious about wearing masks. They finished the work on-time and the system is working great. My wife and I have been using Precise Air for years and have been happy with their service. Just last week they sent Jeff to replace a part of our air conditioning/heating system. (The part is an ERV which allows our windows to remain closed - keeping out dust and pollen - while delivering filtered fresh air indoors.) Before he came I had assumed the new ERV would be connected into the system the same way as the old one. However, Jeff was unhappy with the old connections. Using diagrams, Jeff explained why he preferred connecting the new one differently. As an engineer, I could then see that Jeff's way - though more work on his part - would be more efficient and effective resulting in better ventilation and a lower electric bill. Friendly but did not do anything other than charge me. A very friendly technician came and spent an hour with my broken AC system unable to figure out what was wrong. He left promising to send diagnosis by email that evening but never did. I was charged the "diagnosis fee" twice, one was reimbursed after calling them. But a "diagnosis" was never provided nor was any other actual service. After calling and emailing them multiple times, I am now disputing the charges on my CC. For a company that claims to be a "Lennox specialist" this is pretty lame - especially since a different company, given the same information was able to repair the system the next day in 45 minutes by (warranty) replacing exactly the components I told them I suspected to be faulty - charging the same as this company did for literally nothing. read more

Zero stars. They charged me $6k for a Mitsubishi mini split that goes for $700 on amazon. Not only does it hardly work but the company has not cared or helped figure out why the unit doesn't work at optimal performance. Charging someone that much is a straight scam and should literally feel like terrible even charging someone that much. I requested replacing unit since it was within one yr warranty and they don't wanna do it I guess. Unprofessional install and a joke. Best company we've worked with in two decades!! So glad we chose Precise Air. Precise Air was our third and best estimate. Andrew Karapanian did not try to over sale us or hike up the cost. We chose Lennox from Costco and replaced a 7/8 year old furnace that he was okay with us keeping. Jeff was knowledgeable and cared about the work being completed correctly. The installers (Sebo and team), the electrician & drywallers were very meticulous, neat & communicated with us and Andrew/Jeff to ensure the work was executed to our liking with the best functionality. Precise has the best customer service. Andrew was patient and accommodating. He answered all of our (4 of us) questions - on various occasions, responded to all calls and emails and even came out with Jeff to address last minute concerns we had about moving the unit to the attic. In addition, Jeff came back, days after Andrew, to check the final work and make much appreciated adjustments to the airflow. Thanks Andrew & Jeff for renewing our belief that there are good companies with knowledgeable, good & honest employees. My mom is happy and more comfortable with central air and heat that has been installed well. I have never filed a complaint or written a review but Precise Air left such a bad taste in my mouth that here I am. We were going to do a complete HVAC redo for our home for $24,000 (already priced on the high side but recommended by Costco). The weekend we were going to sign the contract with Joshua Torrez from Precise Air - my wife's sister was put into the ICU (she is dying from cancer) and given 48-72 hours to survive. This was Joshua's response: Hi, I'm sorry to hear that. I am still waiting for the DocuSign back from your wife. I needed it last week in order to qualify for the 15% rebate promotion. Please let her know I need her to sign the DocuSign today or the rebate will go back down to 10%. I have been trying to get her to sign for weeks now and Costco will not allow me to qualify her for the 15% promo unless I get the paperwork turned in today or tomorrow. When our AC went out the landlord recommended Precise as he uses them for his other properties. When I called and gave the address they already had it on file under my landlord, great, I thought. Then I was given a 4 hour window two days later. There was no we call you on the way, nothing given. The day comes and I sit here for 3 hours. Around 1:00 I call and they have no record but I insist. Finally after about ten minutes they find another address. They had used some other address and phone number and visited there at 10 that morning then left when no one came. The person working at Precise was implying this entire time it was my fault. Then, I'm told I have to call back when the person who screwed up the appointment information gets back from lunch. I offer to drive down to their office she gets an attitude that that would not be helpful. I get put on hold and about two minutes later Evelyn confirms the address I'm hot and currently sitting in that they were supposed to visit. But, now I need to wait until tomorrow. I say I can't I, took work off today but oh that doesn't matter, it's tomorrow. So, do you want someone you can trust to put in the right address or man, even just the right phone number for your visit? Do you trust them to actually show up two days later while you wait inside a house with no AC? I'd literally trust any other company I've had come for work here before over them. Because when they no show I'm a heat wave because they made a mistake good luck finding someone else that can make it within the next few days. Precise should learn some customer service and check into how their dispatch works. At the least, probably learn to not accuse costumers of giving them an address they've literally never even heard of before. read more

These people were the worst. I ended up sitting in a hot house, over 90 degrees for 14 days and ended up in the emergency room. I requested service and they said that they were "busy". I took them to court and the judge sided with them. I have not enjoyed my Lennox system. The rooms in my house, some are cooler than others. I think these people did a really bad job in installing my system and it was not cheap...Nearly 9K dollars. I have repeatedly asked Costco to remove them from their list of vendors to no avail. read more

The first several companies I called rejected the work out of hand, the first to show created more of a problem and the second was only interested in a massive up sell. By the time I talked to our account manager Ron at Precise, I was pretty sure that the job would either never get done, or reveal itself to be cost prohibitive. Instead, Ron and his team showed up, did the job with straightforward professionalism and evident pride at what I consider a very reasonable price. WARM & SNUG Last November, it was apparent that the 25-rear old gas furnace serving our central heating system had finally given up the ghost. For the past couple of years, it had been dodgy - it took the striker multiple, agonizing attempts to get things fired up. And cold weather was imminent. It was to Costco that we went shopping for a complete replacement of our heating and A/C. They offer Lennox systems, and it was a local distributor of that brand, Precise Air Systems, Inc., that ultimately contacted us and sent over an estimator, Vigan Kachikian, who is related to the owner. Vigan knows his stuff. He provided a surprisingly reasonable estimate after a quick survey of our 1940-vintage house. The job required installation of the new furnace, new A/C condenser, new ductwork under the floor and in the attic, new ceiling vents, and a wall-mounted systems controller. His estimate was several thousand less than what I'd expected, but I'm pessimistic by nature when it comes to such major home refurbishments; I have reason to be. After we accepted the terms of the job, Vigan returned with his tape measure and sketch book to diagram each room's measurements and the placement of ceiling vents. Have I said that Vigan is REALLY good at what he does? The job took three days. Considering the scope of the task, the 2-3 man installation team was impressively quick and competent. And they cleaned up completely afterwards. Of all the work crews that have improved or repaired our residence over the years - painters, pavers, kitchen remodelers, roofers, window and door installers, awning installers, flooring installers, landscapers, water and sewage line installers - the Precise Air guys rank among the very best in our experience. (Hmm. I didn't realize until now how much we've had done. No wonder I'm not in a financial position to retire just yet. And there's more yet to do!) And wouldn't you know? Two days after the completion of the job in mid-December, the winter's cold arrived. But we're warm and snug. Best of all, the wife is supremely happy. Thank you Vigan and Precise Air! Oh, and did I mention that, as part of the contract, we got a kickback from Costco in the form of a Costco Cash Card for roughly 10% of the installation cost? Sweet! read more

DO NOT USE PRECISE AIR!! Now that that is out there, let me explain the many ways they have proven their gross incompetence over the time I, along with my neighbors, have had to deal with them. I, along with my 5 neighbors, bought new build houses in a 6 unit small lot development in February of 2018. Precise Air was contracted for the HVAC installation. Over the past 5 years our units have had multiple issues with their HVAC systems. I'm honestly not sure that there has ever been a point where all six houses had functioning HVAC units at the same time. Speaking for my home, I would estimate that my heating and air conditioning has only been functional for approximately 2.5 years of the 5 years I've owned it. Numerous service visits from other HVAC companies used through a home warranty company proved unsuccessful with those companies having legitimate concerns over the quality and correctness of the install. The other reason I used other HVAC service providers is that I had lost all confidence in Precise Air's ability to resolve any issue and not deflect it toward someone or something else. In fact, upon speaking to an actual Precise Air employee at one point, I was told by one of their own people that the Precise Air installer is no longer with the company as there were "issues" with the person/persons who did our development's installs. Another Precise Air employee denied knowing this and tried to deflect during this conversation. On top of this one of Precise Air's employees insisted that they didn't even do our development's HVAC installs which they clearly did!!! The most recent interaction has taken over 3 months to get anything that even slightly resembles any type of resolution. I had Precise Air come to the house in NOVEMBER because the HVAC unit was making a loud noise. The tech was unsure what it was and was on the phone with Fujitsu's (the brand of the HVAC unit) service line who told the tech to replace a part. That part took a few weeks to come. The tech then replaced said part and then tried to restart the unit which resulted in him, per his words, "frying the entire circuit board and a few other parts." They said they would get back to me when the parts came in. I never heard from them for over a month, and I had to initiate reaching out to them multiple times for status updates which evidently turned into being reminders to check on those parts status. After not having heat for 3 months in one of LA's coldest winters I reached out again, and they said they were waiting on one part which conveniently came in a few days after my prodding them. They came to the house, installed the parts.... and the system still didn't work. The HVAC wasn't functional until mid FEBRUARY, over 3 months later!! Worse, I have zero confidence that this the permanent fix. Further, the only way I actually knew it was fixed was that my wife and I had multiple voicemails and emails from their office that day demanding payment because we were out of town. That was the first I knew it was actually supposedly fixed. Yet another example of their poor communication with customers. The bottom line is this: 6 new homeowners have collectively had many many ongoing issues with our brand new homes' new HVAC units (multiple freon leaks, faulty handlers, blown circuit boards, bad choke coils, etc. etc. etc.) for 5 years... it has gotten to a point where the group is collectively discussing possible litigation against Precise Air for their negligence, gross incompetence and the collective ongoing issues with the systems they installed. It's a shame that 6 new homeowners have had such a bad experience with this company's work. Please heed this warning and seek any HVAC services you may need elsewhere. read more

We've been doing a lot of renovations to our 1937 home in Glendale and adding heating and air was a big job and big expense. We did our research and got three estimates from companies with good references. All of them came in around the same price but Precise Air Systems had much better customer service and attention to detail. So we chose them to do this big job. They were fast, clean and took the time to make sure we were happy with where the vents were placed and wanted to make sure any noise from the heater or AC would be minimal and away from sleep areas. They put a vent in our bathroom floor that the other companies did not want to do or would charge extra because of the thick tile floor. Everything came out great. read more

They were very professional and courteous. They entered our house with disposal shoe covers. I was very impressed. They gave us a quote to replace the unit with a brand new energy efficient one and recommended some additional upgrades to our old, outdated duct work, at a great price. They were very clean and efficient. We followed their recommendation and a year later, we couldn't be happier. Our electric bill has gone down by at least 20%, the house gets cooler alot faster in the summer and warmer alot faster in the winter, therefore the unit doesn't run as long, saving us cash! I had a new A/C system installed back in 2013. It was supposed to be something that we could use until we pass since we were just entering retirement. We started having issues the very next year where they determined the system was low on refrigerant. After review, they stated they could not find any leak and simply added refrigerant. This lasted about 1.5 yrs and I had to call it in again. But this time I called someone else. They also could not identify the problem and added leak detection while they recharged the system. Bottom line, this system has been problematic from the beginning. I just payed another company to correct a lot of the problems from the initial install. Not drip pan and sensor caused damage to my ceiling. Poor ducting work resulting in poor air flow and replacement of the evaporative coil which has been leaking from day one it seems. No one from Precise ever informed me there was a class action against Lennox for this part. I found out from a totally different AC company. This not only cost me significant money, but the real issue was that this system always seemed to fail during peak heat, leaving us without AC. In addition, the original installers caused damage to my wood floor which they simply gave me a free maintenance. Cost me $175 to repair. So no, I would not recommend this company. They are lucky I gave them two stars. read more

We got an estimate from Precise Air back in March. Gregg C came out and measured the space, looked in our attic and gave us recommendations for a ducted mini split system from Mitsubishi. We got quotes for a ducted system upstairs and a ductless floor-mounted one for the downstairs office. He said that it was the only option for the downstairs. I hated the look of the ductless but agreed since the unit would be hidden behind a sofa. He sent us an estimate and it took about 8 days for him to return my emails because their office server was down. After some back and forth we agreed on a price of $16,500. The other estimates we got fell in between 14-18,000 so Precise Air was right in the middle. The crew was prompt every morning. Gregg arrived the first day to direct the crew. After he left we encountered the first issue with the foreman whose English was not fluent. The floor-mounted unit is supposed to sit on the floor but because of where the floor on the other side of the wall was, he wanted to mount it 14" off the ground-right in the middle of the wall and he wanted me to know this. I asked him if there was another way and he said " You don't have a choice." First of all, I didn't want to see the machine right when I walk into the office and secondly the floor-mounted unit is more expensive than a wall/ceiling mount. So I texted Gregg and he called the general manager Greg. Greg came over quite promptly in about 45 minutes and I explained the situation. I also showed him the crawl space behind the wall and he proposed that we put the unit in that space. Well that was a great solution that the original salesman hadn't thought of. The next day we had another problem. The foreman told me that the return vent for the unit downstairs would be 12"x30". That is huge for such a small space. I asked why it had to be so large. He said that it would have to be that big because the hole that he had to cut to get the unit behind the wall would have to be that big. I asked why he couldn't just patch the hole and put in a more appropriately sized return. He said "I'm not a handyman." I asked him to put in a smaller vent and just patch the hole. He told me to call the office if I wanted their handyman to come out. So again we called Gregg and then the other Greg came out to the job site and he said that they would take care of it. Other small things happened the following days that I had to call Greg for. Basically the crew tries to do things in the easiest way possible without trying to think of better solutions. Their English is poor so it's hard trying to communicate with them so Greg had to come down everyday. Me as a consumer couldn't relax. I didn't feel like I was in good hands. I felt like I had to be on the watch constantly so the crew wouldn't install or leave an eyesore. So finally the job was done and we were able to test it. It sucked. It could not handle days hotter than 84 degrees. On average on a 90 degree day, it would stay at 76 degrees in the house even though he had it set to 70. Gregg said a technician would come by and he didn't tell us much. A few days later another technician came by and told us that the outside air compressor was not sufficient. So a few days later they replace it with a higher powered one. Great I thought...now it should work well. Wrong. It still cannot handle hot days. If I have the unit on all day, it's a little bit cooler in the house and even then on an 87 degree day, it will only be 76 degrees. If I start the unit at 1:00pm, it will just never get cooler than 78 in the house until way past evening. I emailed Greg the GM all the data that I had collected and complained to him. He told me that mini split systems will only cool the house 20 degrees cooler than the outside temperature! I really don't believe that. They install mini splits in the desert where it regularly goes above 100! And even with this standards, that would mean my house should still be 70 degrees on a 90 degree day. Anyways he said that they said that they would install a temperature sensor on the outside of my house and that they would tap into our wireless thermostat to monitor the indoor temperature. They want to see for themselves how terrible their system is. Today they were supposed to do that but Gregg came with the wrong hardware so again we wait. Did I mention that we installed the system in April? I'm waiting to see what happens and in the meantime sitting in an 85 degree house today while they figure out what to do. I will update the review if and when they fix the problem. read more
