We have always had a fantastic experience with Precision Air Inc. We've known Stephen the service manager for years. He maintains all of our HVAC equipment for our 100,000 sqft bio research laboratory. He is always on-time, very polite and always professional. We rely on him and his services to keep our laboratory and all of its equipment up and running at all times. Our laboratory operates 7 days a week/365 days a year and we have to maintain 100% equipment uptime to maintain regulatory compliance. Stephen has always been available day or night for emergency repairs and standard preventive maintenance. Just this past spring we called him because we were having a party at our house with 50 guests and our home AC stopped working on a Saturday and our party was scheduled for Sunday. Stephen came out and found our home system was almost 20 years old. He made a emergency repair to get our house cool for the party and then he returned the next weekend and installed an entire new system so we can go another 20 years with reliable AC. For just a little extra $ he connected our thermostat to our home WiFi and we now turn our AC on/off from our smart phone. My wife and I rely on Stephen to keep our house comfortable and we rely on Stephen to keep the 300 people we employ comfortable in our business. We highly recommend Precision Air Inc. Well, within 20 minutes of my initial post below, I received a phone call from Steve, the owner of Precision Air. He explained that Precision Air is a small company, that he was at the hospital this morning and not available when David made his initial call about the charge for the work at my home, and that the call dispatcher had given the instructions to charge $210, not understanding the situation. Then Steve said my check would be returned (which it has been). So I'd say this review is now a shout-out for both Yelp and Precision Air. Thanks ------------------------------------------------ My AC unit would not turn on & I had replaced the fuse, but still the outside compressor & fan would not turn on. Called Precision Air and today their service tech David arrived (on time!). As I showed him the problem, guess what, the unit turned on and started cooling the room, within 5 minutes of David's arrival. All good, I thought I'd be paying $89, as Precision Air says is the minimum. David hung around, checked the capacitor (fine) and air filter (fine), and replaced 1 foot of worn insulation. Took an hour. The charge: $210. Was I taken advantage of? Absolutely. David said his manager told him to charge $210. Must be company policy. Don't trust them. One star for the company, one extra for David showing up on time. read more

We chose Precision Air Inc. to install 6 minisplits in our home and we are very happy that we did. We invited 6 HVAC companies (Precision Air, Lucky Air, Airmaxx, West Coast Heating, My Guy Heating & Baker Home Energy) to give their opinion and estimates on the difficult job. The old central furnace was broken, the ducts under the house were damaged and we wanted to heat and cool the house and ADU separately. Michael (Senior Field Supervisor at Precision Air) came with the best system proposal and competitive estimate. He was very knowledgeable, professional, had great suggestions and was always prepared to answer our many questions. The job took a whole week and the installation crew (Julio, Buddy, Miguel and lead installer José) did an amazing job of installing a modern system while respecting the mid-century setting. José and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They triple checked everything and always asked our opinion when it came to aesthetics, placement and finishes. They worked incredibly fast, clean and went out of their way to deliver a great HVAC system. Our house has now 6 climate zones that can both be individually heated or cooled with an energy efficient heat pump. We are very happy with their service and product and definitely recommend them to anyone who's interested in the best of the best. read more

Nothing but good things to say about the Precision Air Team. This is my second time using Precision for a mini-split install. The owner, Stephen, came out to give me an estimate, and they were able to start the installation the next week! The team of Marco G, Lorenzo N, and Jorge A were on time everyday and extremely respectful to me and to the property. You can tell they really care about getting it right, and getting it installed as the customer is expecting. They also removed the old furnace and condenser unit from the central air system. During the demo they found the furnace vent line was allowing some water to get into the attic. They made sure to block that and seal up where the leak was happening. Going above and beyond. Every day they would clean up everything they worked on, and left the property better than they found it. When you call their office to deal with payments, warranty, or maintenance programs you will talk to Ira. She was extremely helpful and friendly and just completed the total package from Precision. My first install 2 years ago was done by Jose, who has now moved up to a supervisor position within the company, which tells you the culture within this company. It took a bit to get an appointment (busy season) and was told the job would take two days to replace my HVAC system in a small closet located inside of a kitchen cabinet. I was told before the job that they may have to cut through a wall to create enough space to remove the old air handler and install a new one. On the day of scheduling Jose (the supervisor) showed up early within the time window provided. Jose was and his crew (Marco and Javier) were knowledgeable and professional. They worked quietly, efficiently and didn't damage the cabinet(it was a concern). They even got the job done in one day as opposed the two days scheduled and put the cabinet back together when the project was complete(they didn't have to). Precision Air's scheduling assistant(Ira) was very friendly and helpful while also keeping me in the loop throughout the process. Very happy with the work, the final outcome and nice cold AC. The only issue I have is the ecobee3 lite thermostat I purchased from Costco is having issues staying connected to wifi but an inconvenience that will probably be fixed with a wifi extender as it's not getting a very good signal. read more

This is the second review I am doing recommending Precision Air. The first mini split heat pump system went in so well and has been working above our expectations. We decide to add another system to a different home. As with the first system we started with Michael and he again worked with us to design the system. We liked the first crew so well we requested that they be our installers again. As usual Jose, Marco, Brandon, Edwardo and Dillion all showed up early (not too early though) and ready to do the work. I want to say the quality and efficiency of the last job was not a fluke. They took just as much care on this install as the last. They all work very well together which helped make the job go smoothly. The install was done in an old adobe house without attic space and the team was able to install the system to be aesthetically pleasing. Important for passing my wife's expectations. We've been getting by for 20+ years on what is now a 34 year old central AC unit, and finally decided to replace it. We called several contractors, and selected Precision based on their responsiveness, expertise and because they seemed to listen and tailored a proposal that completely met our needs. Its just been and installed and we're extremely pleased with the results. The crew - Marco, Eric, Dillan, James, Mike and Eddie, under the expert supervision of Jose - were outstanding. They were very professional, very respectful of working in our house, and very hard working. it was a pleasure having them around and was remarkable how hard they worked, especially given the hot conditions up in the attic. Michael met with me in my 1960 house to discuss replacing my 30 year old gas furnace, add AC, and replace all ducts, vents, and return. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and they offer 0% financing for 18 months for no additional charge. He also referred me to Alliance Environmental for asbestos abatement in the attic and garage around the ducts, and for installing attic insulation afterwards. The whole process went smoothly with everyone doing an awesome job for a reasonable price.(I'm retired and interviewed 10 HVAC companies). The Precision guys: Jose, Brandon, Marco, Christian, and Michael showed up on time and cleaned up daily. Jose was "in charge" and inspected everything as they went. It was raining and Jose detected a drip of water in my electric panel coming in from the wires going into the weatherhead on the roof which SDG&E then repaired. Wow!! How fortunate for me. I wanted to get second small AC at home for master bedroom. I call to several contractors and they all gave me an estimate for the job. From the first moment I liked representative from Precision Air. His name Terrence. He is not a professsional salesmen but whatever he recommended I felt that is exactly what this company will deliver and it will work. Price was reasonable in line with other 5 companies and even a little bit better. I've decided to go with them. They came as they promised at 8:00 am and they finished at 7:30pm. At the middle of the day owner Stephen D. came and checked if everything is OK, do they have nessarary parts, equipment, exc. He promised to me that they will do great job. If I ever will have questions he told to call directly to him. It was vey pleasant experience (we all know how often it's not) I highly recommend if you need Heater, AC repair, install or check out if it works OK, you do not to think twice to call these people. Great company to work with for an excellent job. We had planned a HVAC replacement project with a heat pump system. Steve, the owner, came out personally to give an estimate but also identified several opportunities to improve the overall performance. He was the only one out of several companies to do a complete review of our needs and come up with a design to improve our installation and not just give a quote for system replacement. The installation in a very tight attic space required a lot of patience and skill. We lucked out that they had Eddie, their technician with agility to work through very tight attic space to contort to install some really tricky ducts! He performed really well and the completed job was really clean - ready for city inspection. He alone deserves 5 stars for his commitment to do a thorough job. I used Precision Air after my mom had them come out and fix a heater exhaust fan on her double wide which was a hard to find part and was a real PIA but they didn't quit until the job was done right. I had Precision Air installed our central A/C and heating unit. They moved the unit from the hall closet into the attic which was a big job. Most importantly they sized the ducting and vents to match the CFM air flow to the unit which cut down on the noisy air flow that the old unit produced. In order to accomplish this they added more vents in multiple rooms. Before I felt like I was living in a wind tunnel now I no longer have to turn up the TV when the A/C or heater comes on. Precision Air did a Pro job and kept the job site clean during and after the install. I am very happy and most importantly my wife is happy. We are now cool as a cucumber even on the hottest days, Thank you Precision Air. read more

We solicited for six quotes for our full HVAC replacement (heat pump plus total replacement of duct work). Precision Air was by a good margin the most thorough, precise, and carefully thought out quote (done by Michael who I recommend specifically asking for). Though they were not the cheapest, we decided to go with them to ensure we get an excellent install. Our install took four days and it went extremely well. Our install team was Jose (lead), Christian, Lorenzo, and Santiago. All were professional, competent, and treated our home with respect. Each day our home was spotless from their clean-up. Jose really knows his stuff and is pleasant to talk to and is happy to answer questions. I would strongly recommend Precision Air if you want a high quality HVAC install. Precision installed a two-zone mini-split system in my house. Michael was by far the most knowledgeable sales rep concerning the various air handler styles and mounting options, as well as the trade-offs between the number of units and their locations. The quality of the install - removing existing ducting in the attic & under the house, routing wiring & refrigerant lines through a low-pitch roof in the summer, electric power under the house, demonstrating how the systems work as well as required maintenance - means I am very satisfied with the work. During the initial consultation, Michael was very transparent and thorough in explaining several options at various price points that would fit the requirements I gave him. Not only did they reply but they were extremely competent with answering my questions and giving a rough quote. Their pricing was more competitive than other companies and they were quick to schedule me. As if they weren't already great, they are very advanced with technology and texted me a confirmation and a picture and name of the Tech that was scheduled. Marcus was the technician who serviced my hvac unit and he arrived at exactly the time he said he would be there, was super thorough and did an excellent job. Excellent Service, definitely our HVAC Team for the future. AC went out last weekend (95 on the Coast if anyone recalls) called a few places on SAT got a few VM's, went to Yelp on Sunday found Precision. Went to Website, everything was automated didn't have to talk to a soul. Got emails and texts about service person, arrival time, etc. Showed up on time, turns out we had a blown motor, Steve (owner) discounted the normal assessment to account for major repair. Repair took a few hours (didn't have motor handy), the guys ran back to Escondido to get it....had it installed and running within an hour or so. After days of melting, we're finally chillin.
