We had a Home Warranty issue with our heat pump air conditioning, which resulted in us having no cooling in our condo in the middle of June!!! ...and the vendor who the Home Warranty company had assigned to the job did not have the resources to address our issue in a timely manner, and it had been going on for over 2 weeks. We requested a new vendor. Atlas HVAC. I spoke with Ray that afternoon and Joe, the technician, was at our condo by 9am the next morning. He was very patient and meticulous with his work...and we had a cool condo by noon!!!! A few days later, we had a tiny follow up issue with the AC and Joe was here in just a few hours and fixed our issue immediately. Ray and Joe were excellent with respect to professionalism, responsiveness, and expertise. Atlas HVAC will be our only choice for HVAC issues moving forward. Thanks, Joe and Ray. MUCH appreciated!!!

We've used Quick Water Heater & Filtration Company twice now and have been very happy both times…read more Our first install was back in 2019 with Gregg and Jacob, and everything went smoothly. This time around, our Rheem water heater failed before reaching even 7 years, despite having a 12‑year warranty. Even though Quick is closed on weekends, Brandon texted me and set us up first thing Monday morning. Ben (sales) was extremely helpful, walked me through all the options, and made a genuine effort to get Rheem to honor the warranty. Unfortunately, Rheem couldn't provide a replacement and instead offered fair market compensation (still TBD). Not thrilled with Rheem, but Ben handled the situation professionally and kept me informed throughout. We ultimately went with a Bradford White, and Sammy installed it the same day. His work was excellent--professional, efficient, and spotless cleanup. The Bradford White + installation was very reasonable and very surprisingly comparable to my prior installation. Very impressed with Quick's responsiveness, professionalism, and ability to turn everything around in a single day. Highly recommend them.

Really dislike giving low star reviews. This is an established company. We enjoyed working with…read morethem in the past. Higher in pricing, but we used to praise their customer service. We are loyal to our vendors/contractors as great workmanship is not always easy to come by. In the past Jacob, Erik, and others on the team were always professional, prompt, down to earth-- and all experts. They installed our 3 water heaters from them and a whole house filtration system. We have recommended them to our neighbors as well. Had the most uncomfortable conversation with owner Brandon who we've never interacted with in the past. Shockingly rude. I even said, "sounds like I caught you at a bad time" - yikes. A top contender for most negative and weird vibes from a sales/client interaction. This call happened after a slightly frustrating visit with Ben who admitted he only has 1 year of experience and was trying to keep up as best as he could. He was actively trying to learn on the spot. He was honest which I commend. Ben left saying he needs an actual technician present along with the owner's help to develop a more solid option and plan to move forward. Not a problem at all. It must be frustrating being an expert in your field having to speak about the same products and concepts with home owners who are relearning different/new systems on the fly. But if customer service is not your forte, stick to delegating and take hospitality courses so your loyal customers don't feel like they have to be apologetic for having questions on a $11k quote. Sadly, a "could have been better" 2/5 star experience, wish we could stick with them. Pro tip, maybe ask to exclusively interface with the seasoned members of their crew with 5+ years of experience so you avoid any negativity and can actually get the work you need done.

Two guys came from Paul's Plumbing to give me bid to install a Moen Flo leak detection device on my…read morewater supply pipe. Leak detection is a requirement by my insurance company Safeco because they want to leave California and they're coming up with all these obstacles to make me jump through in order for them not to renew me. They were already non-renewing me because I didn't have the Moen Flo installed. I would be providing the Moen Flo device which cost about $600 when I take it off another house where I'm not using it. Paws Plumbing noted that pressure regulator valve that I installed maybe 5 years ago was not working. So if I purchase the parts Paws Plumbing would install it for $800. The Moen Flo requires pipe modifications to be done at my house, because of the picture below, and extra parts. It is not a simple installation. I feel like the price is fair because another plumber, arrived at the same time as pause and he quoted $2,500 even if I provide the part and that is only for the installation of the Moen Flo alone not for the pressure regulator. The $2500 plumber waas the Owner of Core Plumbing in case you want to avoid paying more than you need to. The other plumbers didn't test the pressure regulator. Otherwise it could have made more money because it wasn't working right. And another plumber quoted $950 just for the labor alone to install the Moen Flo alone. So I'm giving Paws Plumbing five stars although I am not at the point to hire them for installation because I might get around it by changing my insurance. A solid 5 star plumber called Open Line, bid $350 to install the Moen Flo, if I provide the part, and later, I ALSO found that Moen has "bundle deal" with my insurance company (Safeco/Liberty Mutual) for $1000 including tax and the Moen Flo, which cost about $600, which means the installatio is aboaut $400. I learned, however, on my pipe configuration pictured below, modifications have to be made that would cost more.

Paws Plumbing Review Very disappointing experience with Paws…read morePlumbing I hired Paws Plumbing to diagnose two shower issues at my clients' home. On Wednesday, Jonathan came out and spent approximately 2.5 hours diagnosing the problems. I was charged $250 for the diagnostic visit. From Wednesday through Monday, I called Paws Plumbing at least 10 times trying to get a basic line-item breakdown of the diagnosis, the parts needed, and an explanation of the $700 estimate. Despite repeated calls on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Monday, I had an incredibly difficult time getting a straight answer or even the part number. Separately, during this process, I received a sales call from David, the supervisor, who was trying to sell me on a whole-house water system. Meanwhile, I was being told that the temperature-regulating cartridge itself cost approximately $200 and that the technician would need to drive to East County to pick it up--apparently as justification for the nearly $1,000 cost to replace it. I finally received the actual part number on Monday. Once I had it, I was able to find the exact part at Home Depot for approximately $99, and online for around $50. That made the proposed pricing feel grossly excessive and completely lacking in transparency. There was also a basic professionalism and safety issue. While going in and out of the home, the technician left the doors open multiple times. My clients have a new rescue dog, making this particularly concerning and careless. The entire experience was extremely disappointing. Between the difficulty getting information, having to make at least 10 calls just to obtain a part number, the significant apparent markup on the part and repair, the separate sales solicitation, and the lack of care with leaving doors open, the experience felt inefficient, overpriced, and frankly pretty slimy. I would strongly recommend getting the exact part number and independently checking the cost before agreeing to repairs through this company.
