The part arrived within the window he quoted (2-3 hours), was installed without fuss, and the final bill was reasonable. What stood out as much as the technical work: he flagged a slow coolant leak and a minor oil leak -- this is an older car, so neither was a shock -- but there was no pressure to pile on services. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be. The waiting area is a genuine plus: free wifi, a table big enough to work at, and a small fridge with complimentary drinks, large TV. My one suggestion would be to add a coffee in the AM. Also, the door to the reception currently reads "B". Might want to avoid any confusion with better signage. But if anything is questioned she quickly becomes unprofessional. My car has been safety inspected there (and passed) for years and years. Now it will not pass because of the window tint. Nothing changed-same window tint during all these years. When I questioned the inconsistency she basically told me to shut up by saying "we're not having this conversation". A few minutes later when she spoke to me I returned the favor and told her the same thing. You could have just said "Yes, you did not change and your car did not change. We changed and now we are stricter. Sorry about that". I will never go to Pete Smith Lube and Tire again as long as Cheryl is there.
