I called Precision Door Service at 9:35 am on Memorial Day, and was on hold for approximately 20 seconds before a live operator answered. She gathered my relevant information with single questions, not repeating a single question. She gave me an appointment window and told me that Mario, a service technician, would call me on the way to my home. Mario called me 8 minutes later, and arrived at my home at 10:12 am. Mario was fully masked and kept more than 6 feet away from me at all times. Mario inspected my garage door thoroughly, commenting on the rails, the chain, the cables, the spring and the safety sensors. He asked me about the age of my existing setup and frequency of usage. He inspected my garage setup thoroughly so he could give me an INFORMED recommendation (i.e. a recommendation tailored to me, and not merely his pricing guide). He explained the different products, and their associated costs and benefits. We disused options and he gave me an EXACT fee quote. He respectfully allowed me to move my personal possessions to clear his workspace - I appreciate that he did not root around my possessions. He then proceeded with the job. He disassembled and removed our old unit (taking it with him). He installed the new unit (which of course he had several units of in his truck - they come prepared!) He was not the least bit rushed in performing the installation - I monitored his progress from inside my house. He was cautious and deliberate. I saw him surveying each step before he executed. He gathered all of the garbage and packing materials and loaded them onto his truck - even though my garbage barrels were in plain sight three feet away from him! When he was finished, he called me out and gave me a thorough inspection of his work. He commented on each of his findings while doing the job - again, these were all specific to my garage. He gave me maintenance tips. He demonstrated every feature of the unit, pausing to allow me to ask questions at each step. He programmed my remote - while it was still in the sealed plastic bag. He even transferred the light bulb from my old unit to the new unit. Payment via credit card was simple and contactless. Mario has clearly done this many times and approaches his jobs from the vantage point of the homeowner and user of the products he installs. I am thoroughly impressed. I have suffered through hundreds of contractors and vendors in the course of building and remodeling homes - they should all take note of Mario's professional approach to exemplary customer service. I'm a first-time customer and I am so pleased and impressed by the service I received today from Cory Wikstrom. I woke up to a broken door this morning and he was a genius, a wizard, and my hero today! Here's the story. I had my Genie Pro installed by another outfit about 15 years ago and have been loyal to them ever since. They are really, really wonderful people, but they are not open on weekends. So, today, early on a Sunday morning, I went to my garage to find that the door opened fine but then would not close. After trying the things I knew how to do to try and fix it, I found Precision online. I had no idea there was even such a thing as 24/7 garage door repair. I think I called at about 9:15 and a very nice and professional young lady told me that someone could be out to my house from 11-1. And, she said, the technician would call me 15 minutes before his arrival. Cory did call and arrived a few minutes before 11:00. He was so cheerful and nice, and got to work right away. In about 7 minutes, he diagnosed the problem as a loose wire inside the unit, and lickity-split, he had the thing fixed and working beautifully. I couldn't believe it. I was so happy, that is all I can say. Really, really, really fantastic. He was just so GOOD at finding the problem and then easily fixing it, 1-2-3. WONDERFUL. My garage door opener was having a hard time lifting my tilt-style wooden garage door after a night of rain (I assume the wood absorbed the humidity and made it heavier than usual). I was able to schedule an appointment quickly and they arrived on time. They charge $50 to come put to see what the problem is, but if you use them, they reduce that charge to $25. I would have expected that they would routinely wave the charge altogether if you have them to the work, but they're entitled to have any policy they want, and were upfront about the fees. The technician recommended replacing all 4 springs, which he did very quickly. A quick spray of WD-40 and the garage is working as good as new. I was a little taken aback by the price though, but am not dinging the company for that. He was up front about it and I said, "yes," so that's on me. But $783 (incl. tax) for 4 springs that took 20 mins. to hang is pricey. And paying someone $50 each to get estimates is going to run up your bill in a hurry anyway, so they kind of have you in a tough spot. On last thing, the springs are only warranted for a year, and the labor only 3 months. That was a little surprising too. For such a high price, I'd like to have the piece of mind that it won't break again any time soon. Happy with the service and outcome though, nothing bad about doing business with this company at all. I'll probably do a little more comparison shopping with the time comes to replace my garage door though. read more

Amario just fixed our garage door!! I am so thankful this was such an easy process. It actually looks better than before I broke the door. I called just a few days ago to ask how I can get a quote and what the heck do I do?? I wasn't sure where to start to be honest. They answered the phone immediately, set up an apt and explained everything and listened to my problem. I bent the garage door, top panel was torn and I ripped the screws out as well as the motor arm out of the door. I left a wagon under it and the sensors didn't detect it. Big oops!! I thought it would be at least $1,000- it wasn't. The price was so fair- thank you for that. I ended up needing to reschedule the initial Monday appointment and sent an email bc I wanted them to know ASAP but planned to call as I wasn't sure they would read the email. They did!! They responded and rescheduled right then. Amario came with gloves and a mask took time to look at listen to what I did to break the door. He then explained the issues and how he thought it should be fixed. He was able to fix it right then. In 20 or 30 mins and in 91 degree weather Amario had the door fixed and made our door stronger and more durable for future use. He reinforced the existing hardware and made it all blend in. I was afraid it would look like a giant metal bandaid but it just looks better and safer than it did before I broke it. read more

Excellent service!! One evening we found our garage door would not close or open when we pushed the control. We called several 24-hour garage door repair companies but only one answered, Precision Door. Being it was close to midnight and we were able to secure the door for the night ourselves, we were happy when the operator scheduled us an appointment between 8 am -12 pm. Around 8 in the morning, our installer Mario M., let us know he was 30 min. away and arrived promptly at the time he stated. He checked our system setup and identified what the problem was (the teeth in the carriage were worn out so it couldn't catch on to the screw to lift or lower the door). He recommended what we could do in order to get the door operational again as well as providing us with maintenance tips and several estimates for future work. In the end, we settled on replacing the old screwdrive garage door opener with a wifi-enabled belt controlled one. Surprisingly, Mario had the opener and all the parts on his truck. He estimated it would take him 1.5 hrs. to install and he delivered. The new opener install looks good and the system we choose was lot quieter than we expected. Would like to thank technician Jerry Parker. He is a shining star at Precision Door. The previous technician did mentioned the lift master could not be replace and I would have to wait 5-7 days to replace the mother board on a new garage door which was just installed back in December 2018. I placed another call and spoke with Tina and she mentioned not to worry she would send over Jerry Parker to take care of everything. He came out to my home did an awesome job, he replaced the broken lift master and took time to explain to me how my new lift master works, and how to maintain this device. Six years ago, we remodeled our house and iage stalled a beautiful opaque glass and steel frame garage door. Unfortunately, the overhead coil door springs installed have snapped twice, once again last week, leaving our two cars captive in the garage. I contacted Precision Door Service because of their excellent Yelp rating. Fortunately, Precision sent Mike R. to my home to investigate and eventually solve the ongoing problem. Mike weighed the door, with company's the newly purchased industrial scales, and discovered that the two original springs were way too small to carry the 500lb weight of the door. Then, Mike made several calculations and measurements of the door to ensure that the replacement springs would be adequate to lift the heavy weight, While keeping us informed of the status of the repair, Mike learned that not two, but four heavy-duty overhead coil springs were needed to correctly operate the door. Mike also suggested a few operating enhancements and replaced screws that had been sheered because of the inadequate coil springs. I was contacted on the morning that I wanted to have the repair done after e-mailing the company the day before. The customer service person said that the repair man will arrive within a 3 hour window to fix the broken springs and call me 30 minutes before coming. Sure enough the service repair man called and arrived. Gabriel arrived and introduced himself. He was nice and friendly and listened to what the problem was. He quoted me a couple of prices and broke down what each price entailed. After choosing my option, he proceeded with the repair and found some problems which he pointed out to me and I agreed that that would be the proper course of action. The repairs took less than an hour. New spring and bearings installed, screws tightened and other maintenance issues taken care of for proper operation. Gabriel informed me of the warranty and also of new law for garage openers. He also informed me that the spring be good for 12 years. So the spring is rated for a high number of turns compared to what the previous installer had put into ours. Gabriel cleaned everything up before he left. Overall, I was happy with the service and with Gabriel who seems proud of his work and is a good representative of the company. read more

Garage door spring broke with a loud BANG, and with that I knew I have a problem. A friend recommended Precision Door. So Precision I called and got an appointment within 2 hours. I was over the moon, happy to get same day service. Cory W. called 30 minutes before he showed up and he sounded very friendly over the phone so it's not surprising to see him in person very friendly and smiling. He had me push on my remote while he lift the door up to open. He took one look at the spring and yep, he just smile and recommended several types of springs for me to choose. Since he didn't have the one I wanted, he gave me a free upgrade to a better quality spring with 5 years warranty without extra charge and since I also needed to changes this roller flat pieces thing located by the cable wire, he gave me a very good discount. He went to work right away, very efficient and professional about it. Cory W. even fixed the squeaky sound and he also switches the light sensor for no extra charges... He was awesome.. Our garage door had not been operating, and we needed someone trained to work with our new Liftmaster to resolve the issue. Paul Brinkmann was the service representative that came to our home. He was careful to notice a number of things that could be causing our garage door to operate poorly. He explored a number of different issues and focused on resetting our remote controls and found that one was faulty and provided a new one. He also adjusted the system's "eye sensors". We also found out that interference might be coming from systems in the neighborhood and that these might be causing the garage door to pick up other signals. Paul gave us other ideas to explore and we learned a lot about the complexity of garage door systems and how sensitive they are. Paul was patient and a good listener and teacher. Paul was honest about not knowing if the issue was completely resolved but did give us more information to explore should the garage door malfunction again. At this time, it appears to be operating smoothly. Most importantly, Paul was respectful and made an effort to take time to answer all of our questions. We had an issue in which our garage door wouldn't close part of the way and then reopen. For years we lived with the issue, constantly pushing the button until it closed. Precision sent us Dale Young. As a stay at home dad I had my hands full with my one year-old but Dale was very understanding and did his own thing. He Informed me that some of the parts on my door were unable to carry the weight after so many years of use. He gave me three options for fixing the door. The first option required changing one part. The second option was to change multiple parts. The third option was a complete overhaul. Dale was very understanding about our budget limitations and was diligent about finding the root of the problem to avoid a costly repair. We decided to do a complete overhaul for the sake of the door's longevity. Dale found every kink in the door and replaced every piece. He installed a new door opener after realizing ours was completely fried. He was meticulous and quick, getting the job done in a couple of hours. A steel angle bracket in our circa 1960 manual garage door opener snapped in two. We were worried that no parts would be available and nobody would know how to fix it, forcing us to replace the system. We found Precision Door online, with favorable reviews. We called on a Sunday, and reached a real person, who was able to immediately schedule a visit for the next day. The repair technician (James) was very nice, very familiar with these old opening systems, and very technically skilled (decades of construction work plus years of garage repairs). He indicated that he could weld the broken part to be as good as new or better. He removed the spring assembly, took it to his shop, fixed the broken bracket and also spot-welded another potentially weak point, and re-installed two days later. He also installed simple cable safety devices in each spring to prevent dangerous flying spring parts in the event of breakage, adjusted the other garage door for better balance, and re-aligned a mounting bracket to fix an old door-frame rub. All-in-all, we were extremely pleased with the service from Precision and from James specifically. read more

We hired precision to come out and look at our garage door which had numerous issues and was no longer rolling up or down, which is no fun. I was able to get a same day appointment and was surprised at how pleasant and easy the scheduling was on such short notice. Alex was sent out within a matter of a couple of hours, and immediately went to work to see what was going on. Not only was Alex incredibly kind and extremely informative on what he was seeing, his quality of work is amazing. No one plans for their garage door to break down during the holidays, but If they do, this is the place to call! (ask for Alex!) One of the springs on our ancient garage door broke yesterday (noted last night), so we called Precision Overhead Garage Door Service to replace both springs (as the other one is also over 25 years old). James came to day, and provided SUPERB service! Entirely professional and courteous/friendly, with no "up-selling". He replaced both springs, reattached the door, and even upgraded our sensors with sensors he had replaced at another house (which despite being used, were newer than ours), and when the door did not work he swapped out the switch to see if that was the culprit before simply "rebooting" the motor by unplugging and plugging. The end result is a perfectly functional door, fully lubricated, with somewhat upgraded components (and brand new springs) all for the cost of just the new springs! James is a gem, and Precision is definitely our "go to" company for any future garage door needs. My roll-up garage door broke a counter-balance torsion spring during the worst of the coronavirus shutdown on a Friday afternoon, trapping two cars inside. I put in a call to the company who had fixed it before but never got a call back and I was worried garage door companies weren't considered essential. The next day, Saturday, I saw Precision Door Service's full-page ad in the Mercury and gave them a call. They were not only still working, but they sent out a technician in less than two hours. Jerry was quick to size up not only the spring replacement, but also several issues with the 20-year old door that really did need fixing. In less than an hour, he had the entire door brought up to probably better-than-new condition (such as a metal bearing instead of a plastic one). He also talked me through what he had done, and how to maintain the door parts in the future. Jerry was great to work with, being both very knowledgeable and professional. I don't think I'll have any future door issues as a result of the work, but if I did I would certainly give Precision a call again. read more
