At least as sellers we didn't have to pay for his inspection. I'd never hire this inspector.

At the conclusion, Mark sat down with both listing agent, my realtor as well as the sellers and myself to review their findings. I found this highly unusual, as I was paying $395 for the inspection and the results were mine...not something I wanted to share with the freekin neighborhood! Anyway, about 6 weeks after the fact, we were demolishing the kitchen and discovered about an inch (no kidding) of BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE wrapped around the sink drain! AND a nasty old wash rag wrapped around the water supply valve! Further, the "repair" the previous owner botched was COMPLETELY MISSED BY PRO VUE INSPECTION. The base cabinet was heavily damaged from water. When I called Mark at Pro Vue and he said " call me when your plumber gets there and we'll take care of it..." Well, I called, and with my plumber standing there I got Marks voicemail...6 days later he has yet to return my call. Pro Vue it isn't!

Watt seemed to answer those questions thoroughly! Fast forward to 2020, my roof was leaking, which stunk. When I called a roofer out to look he stated that there was extensive water damage throughout the entire roof and provided me with images. After Watt's inspection, where he stated anyplace he could see potential water damage was exclusively on the edges of the roof, Watt informed me that I should have 6 years before that becomes a problem. I relayed this to the roofer who said "Sounds like you got the wool pulled over your eyes on this one." Had Watt either done a more thorough inspection or told me the full extent of the damage, I would not have bought the house. I would NOT recommend the use of this company for your inspection.

HomeTech Home Inspections told me in no uncertain terms that I am connected to city sewer. One month into owning my home, I find out I actually have a septic tank and that there is physically and literally NO possible way I could be connected to city sewer. How did I find out? The septic tank was completely full and the drain field failing. I have paid almost $1000 in repairs at this point, and need to pay an additional $8000 to get the drain field repaired. How could they get something so wrong? Great question. Turns out, the sellers home listing is enough for HomeTech Home Inspections to validate that you have city sewer. That is the method they used to tell me that I am connected to city sewer. That's right. I hired a company to validate the things the seller told me about the condition of the home, and they used the seller's word to validate it. Super cool. In the face of $9000 in repairs, I sought a refund from Home Tech Home inspections. Of the $1400 I paid HomeTech Home Inspections during my home buying process, they offered me only a $200 refund. Greg, the owner of HomeTech, told me that I should have known I had a specific tank going into buying the house. Thanks Greg! I agree! That's why I hired a home inspector. A lot of good that did me. To get something so fundamental wrong when your whole business is to tell people about their houses is crazy. I'm interested to see what else is going to come up while living here. Many people failed me in this experience but this one really just stands out.
