I want to share my experience so others know what to expect. When the roofing work started, the lack of professionalism was obvious. There was little to no preparation--no tarps were laid down, and debris was scattered all over my yard. I recently had landscaping done, and it was frustrating to see roofing materials, nails, and trash . Even after the job was "completed," cleanup was incomplete. I'm still finding roofing debris in my backyard, on my grill, and even on my smoker. They also damaged my outdoor lamps and didn't bother to fix or properly replace them. To make matters worse, they left behind leftover materials, including a large box of nails and roofing liner. Oh and because they had little care for prep my dog's water/food bowls had material thrown on them. If I wasn't paying attention they would of ingested that stuff. As someone who grew up around roofing (my father is a roofer), I can say this level of carelessness is not normal--it's sloppy. While the roof itself may look fine at a glance, the overall experience and lack of respect for my property were disappointing. I would strongly encourage others to be cautious and ask detailed questions upfront before hiring this company.

And I'm so glad I did, for 2 key reasons: 1.) IT WORKS: From a purely functional perspective, the treatment definitely helps keep pests at bay. For the first few weeks after we moved into the house, spiders, ants, and palmetto bugs were nearly everyday occurrences (as they tend to be in Florida). After Royal Palm treated, it felt like we had our house back. We pay for quarterly treatments, and while they offer free interim treatments if we notice an uptick in pests in the home, we've never had to avail ourselves of that offer. If we ever see an insect in the house, it's rare, and they've usually given up the ghost by the time we find them. 2.) CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SPECTACULAR: They always call US to schedule our quarterly treatments, which is a nice perk because I'd never remember. They're always friendly and professional. And our technician (Craig) is a super nice guy. Very efficient, always on time, AND he wears booties over his shoes when he comes into the house, which is such a nice touch. We like to maintain a "shoe-free" home to keep the floors clean, but we don't typically ask guests to remove their shoes because we don't want to make folks feel uncomfortable. So the fact that he wears paper booties over his shoes as a matter of course is just an incredibly thoughtful thing to do. Again, highly recommended!

The large majority of older homes deal with it in some capacity. Our last two visits have just been quick spot treatments because of the protection and treatment we got the first time. We only ever have 1 or 2 small sites of activity a year (no more swarmst though), which is a huge improvement from the last company we used. That request has gone unanswered. -- FULL STORY: We came to French Drain Guys with a specific problem: water pooling on the side of our house near our AC units during heavy rain. Before committing to anything, we asked directly whether gutters would be a better solution. We were told no -- that a French drain was the right call for our situation. A call was even arranged between my wife and a company rep to confirm this. We moved forward based on that recommendation. After installation, the first heavy rain showed the exact same pooling in the exact same spot. We have photos from multiple rain events showing the water level looks identical to before any work was done. To their credit, every installer who came out was friendly and professional. But every single one of them said the same thing: a French drain was not the right solution for our situation. That's their own team telling us this. What followed was being passed between sales reps and installation crews with no resolution. The most recent response from a supervisor was a new proposal -- recommending gutters and a sump pump. The exact solution we asked about before ever paying for the French drain, and were told wouldn't work. One thing worth noting: immediately after installation, before we had experienced a single rain event, the installer aggressively pushed us to leave a review and wanted confirmation on the spot that we had posted one. We now understand why. We left a positive review based on the install itself -- before we had any idea the solution wasn't going to work. All we have asked for is to speak with someone in management who has the authority to sit down with us, hear us out, and work toward a fair solution that takes into account what we have already paid. That simple request has gone unanswered. We are not looking for a free service. We are looking for accountability and a fair path forward. If you are considering French Drain Guys, get everything in writing -- specifically what outcome you can expect, not just what product they plan to install. Sod replacement was haphazardly done and our yards were left with construction debris, bottle caps, and cigarette butts scattered about. When a supervisor arrived the day after "completion," he agreed that the lots were left in a condition he described as "unacceptable and shoddy." The guys at Integrity Home Inspection are the best. I've used their services twice in the last two years. The first was a serious fix-er-upper, and they spend hours looking, poking and prodding to find the many small and several BIG issues. They checked all the electric, even looking at the copper behind the fuse boxes. They found everything that was wrong including doors that wouldn't close and windows that wouldn't latch and electric boxes in the attic that didn't seem to go to anything. They do a great job of reviewing everything after the inspection. More importantly, they stepped through the implications of, for example, and old appliance. Here's how long you can expect it to last, and you can expect to replace it within, say, 3-5 years. They especially spend time on the big items like the roof and air conditioners. In the end, we had a complete list of repairs for the plumber and electrician. These guys are the BEST!
