Unfortunately I have to update my review as I can no longer recommend this mechanic. I called as I usually do and left a message. I took two days to get a response... OK not unusual. I dropped off the vehicle on a Friday. Let him know that I wasn't in any rush to get the vehicle back. He told me he'd take a look at the vehicle on Monday. No problem. Tuesday rolls around nothing... I think maybe he's just been busy. Wednesday afternoon rolls around still haven't heard anything... So I call. He calls me and lets me know. He's diagnosed the issue with my vehicle and explained to me how difficult he felt it was. And sent me the cost of his suggested repairs. I reviewed one of the parts that was the main issue that needed to be replaced. It involve disconnecting one cable and two screws at the top of the back of the engine bay. The part was $70 retail... His cost for the repair $400. I let them know that I'd come and pick up the vehicle... I come and pick it up and he advises me that there's a $240 diagnosis fee because of all the "time" that he spent diagnosing the issue. I called out to him that at no point had we discussed this or what his hourly rate was to diagnose the issue nor had we signed any sort of estimate for the amount of time that he was initially going to take to diagnose the issue. I didn't expect him to diagnose the issue for free however $240 for diagnosing an issue with a vehicle when he had not communicated at any point that he needed any additional time to diagnose is where I felt he was less than transparent. It was obvious that he was upset that I wasn't gonna pay $400 to replace a $70 part (I'm being very generous there)... That I purchased (genuine OEM ) for NAPA for $45 and replaced in literally less than five minutes... I called out to Luis that not only have I've been a prior customer. I've sent my mother-in-law her boyfriend as well as my father there and for him to now treat me in this way and to throw a $240 diagnosis fee on me completely uncommunicated when there is no agreement on how much time was to be spent or initially invested in diagnosing. The issue was unfair. Additionally, the part that ended up needing to be replaced was easily identified with the free OBD port reader from AutoZone. So you tell me, is that worth $240? Should a mechanic let a customer know in advance what the estimate estimated diagnosis time should be and what the cost per hour is? If additional time is needed to diagnose your issue, would you expect the mechanic to call and let you know? On top of that, the communication has never been good. I have to call. I have to follow up. I have to leave messages. You'll get a response 24 to 48 hours later. As a customer, I just expect better. The poor communication paired with uncommunicated pricing is not something I'm going to support with my hard earned money. If you like delays and your wallet likes surprise charges, maybe this is the mechanic for you. read more

I usually go to another mechanic for all my vehicles but since he was already working on 2 of my vehicles he told me for the third to wait or find someone else because thats too much work for him. I was recommended louie from precision motor werks from a friend and i wish i wouldve never gone. 1st week i took my truck (monday) they said they were going to conduct tests to see whats wrong and they'll give me a call. I never got a call or a update for a whole week. Called friday and they told me the same thing they told me on monday. 2nd week nothing was done and they still didnt conduct tests. So i decided to just buy a new motor since they "couldnt find the problem" 3rd week i went to check on truck and still nothing was done they said they wanted to save some parts from old engine which i didnt understand since i bought a whole new engine and was a different motor ahaha which makes no sense. 4th week i went and they finally had everything in the truck but didnt have the radiator cleaned and he wanted to keep truck longer he said tuesday truck will be ready 5th week i went on the day they told me truck will be ready and they still told me they needed more time i got fed up and had to pull project out of shop. And after all that my motor missing parts and not functioning correctly. If i can give this shop zero stars i would!! i wouldn't even give this shop my vehicles for a oil change!!!! My wife and I were looking to have a 78 Winnebago that our son had picked up from a tow yard be made operable again if possible. But we discovered no one really wanted to take on a project like this. Eventually I was referred to Precision Motor Werx by an RV Repair Shop in Newbury Park. That person said that Luee, the owner, was the only person he could recommend for a project like this. We dropped into Precision Motor Werx and Luee graciously stopped what he was doing to talk to us. He is incredibly personable and took as long as we needed so he could explain how he would approach the project. He would conduct an initial diagnostic to see what he could. There was an initial cost for this, which we agreed to, but he wouldn't take any steps without first fully explaining what needed to be done (or what things could be done, but were optional), what the costs would be, and obtaining our authorization. He never varied from this, and we truly appreciated that, and the fact that Luee is a man of his word. The project was not an easy one. Because of the age of the vehicle, many parts were not readily available...Luee had to source some parts online, had to have a carburetor refurbished, had to find some parts at a local dismantler (he sourced the parts on his own time and didn't charge for the time - who does that?), had to find 16.5" tires which the local tire shop said they didn't carry (but they actually could order them even though they didn't realize it!). There were a number of other hiccups as well that I suspect would cause many, if not most other mechanics to "throw in the towel". But not Luee. He even had to repair a part in his shop that couldn't be sourced. And he did. The last step was getting the vehicle to pass smog. We would have been unable to register the vehicle without this. Luee has to go to a couple of shops to get someone who would even test the vehicle. He ensured the vehicle was adjusted so it would pass smog, which it did. The Winnebago runs fine, it is registered, and we are thrilled. We can't recommend Luee and Precision Motor Werx highly enough. If you are looking for a very good, honest mechanic who will go the extra mile, then Luee is your man. read more

The best mechanic in Ventura County. Luee is an honest and reliable mechanic. I've been coming to this shop for over 15 years. I hadn't had the need to bring my vehicles to him for service but I bought a used 2009 Honda Odyssey from a military family in great condition with low miles 3 yrs ago and finally I had to do the major 90,000 miles maintenance wherein I could only rely on Luee for the work that needed to be done right. He took the necessary time to throughly explain the needed maintenance on my vehicle as well as offer various options. I am now a happy customer and continue to admire his hard work and dedication to this specialized field. It's no wonder the name of this shop is called Precision Motor because Luee is all about being precise with his work. Louie has over 25 years experience and is the owner of precision Motor Werx. He is genuine, honest, personable, caring, passionate about what he does, along with being very knowledgeable and informative. I needed my horn replaced for my Nissan; I drove to the dealership. They estimated it would cost me about $625. I then went to an auto tech business across the street from Louie's auto repair business; they wanted $160 to diagnose my car. I then went down the street and a bright Green Sign (at the TOP of BOTH -SIDES of the ENTRANCE into his Auto Repair business that said "Batteries" caught the attention of my eyes. I met Louie at Precision Motor Werx. He set up an appointment and replaced my horn and deducted part of the initial diagnoses. Took my Mazda 3 in at the suggestion of a friend. Had just purchased the car from my neighbor. It squeaked from the undercarriage constantly, also went 'bong bong bong' whichever direction I turned the steering wheel while driving. Met Louie, nicest, most cordial mechanic ever. I explained the problems even joking, "It might need an entire can of Crisco underneath." Also commented that people would look when the car 'bonged' so I knew they could hear it too. After evaluation, was given the 'to do' list from most urgent to least. Agreed to most important ones, and stopped at $2100, saying 'Wow, that's a lot of money', to which Louie responded "Parts are very expensive right now." Paid the money, which I worked hard for, got car back. Nothing changed. Still squeaking, still 'bonging.' After a few days, called Louie saying "What needs to be done to stop that bonging? that's why I bought the car in." He explained which parts it would need, cost being $350.00 maybe less if they can find them cheaper. The Mazda drives exactly the same as before I took it in, still squeaking and bonging away like mad. Won't be going back, couldn't afford to if I did. Been quite depressed about it, along with all the other reasons to be in this world. To be honest, I am dumbfounded. Or maybe, just dumb. read more

Absolutely, without a doubt, the best automotive repair experience that I have ever had in my entire life. My husband trusts no one with our vehicles and even he has raved about Precision Auto Werx (PAW). Do not let the name mislead you; they service and repair all denominations of vehicles. I drive a red Expedition delivered brand new one week after it was released. Needless to say, I love my truck, but "Ed" is not without his faults. Ed blew a spark plug leaving Arizona, we did a temp fix to get us home Sunday and took him to the shop Monday. Being new in Ventura County I asked for a referral and was referred to PAW. Luee, the owner is an honest, knowledgeable individual who passed my husband's scrutiny. He thoroughly went through Ed's engine and had him back to that evening. From the personal customer service to repair, Precision Auto Werx is the place to take your vehicle. This was the first time in decades I did not feel cheated or taken advantage of. I'm not a vindictive person but I've encountered an intolerable situation with this business. I brought my older MBZ convertible to Angie's Collision Center for her to fix the back bumper and replace the hood emblem. The convertible top was not operating functionally so she was going to send it over to Precision. I was told that he had fixed it - and charged around $335 in labor (over the quote but, I not a big issue) and I paid this amount over the phone. The car was to be delivered back to Angie's which, eventually, it was. Now I wish I had gone to inspect the vehicle before giving him my credit card information because when I picked the car up from Angie's, the headliner was ripped in more than one place. A part of it was hanging in my face while driving home and I had to tear a small piece off just to drive safely. Now, you would think that this damage would have been pointed out by the owner, who did the work. The cost of replacing the headliner is around $1,000 and because the car is older and I always try to err on the side of fairness, I asked Luee to contribute $200. This was probably MORE than fair but again, I'm not someone who needs money or is looking to fleece someone...I just wanted to try and have it end up as an equitable situation. You would think he would have jumped at the chance but he would barely even admit fault saying that he "thinks" he saw some rips and that the fabric was brittle. To further add insult to injury, he had the nerve to tell me that this situation was akin to a door handle being opened and closed 1,000 times and then, the next time, it breaks. It was relayed in a condescending way as though I should just say, "yeah, that makes sense" and go away. For me, this situation was more like bringing your car in to get new tires and then, when you pick it up, you find out the hubcaps are missing and there is a dent in the door. So, this was my experience and I'm guessing challenging events like this are the reason we have a Small Claims Court. I just really don't want anybody who is in a poorer financial state to get ripped off. read more

I met Luee, aka Luis Esparza, when he worked for Todey Mitsubishi in Oxnard, CA, in 2008 after I bought my 1994 Dodge Stealth RT. It was almost impossible to find a knowledgeable mechanic for this specialized, high performance car, in the Santa Barbara area, and finding Luee was like striking gold. After Todey folded, Luee went full time at his previously part time business venture. Fortunately, I stayed in touch and to this day, he continues amaze with his vehicle knowledge. In addition to the Dodge he also maintains my 1994 Ford RV. He recently dx'd and replaced bad sway bar bushings and U-joints. Also found leaks in an old propane tank and replaced it in a slightly modified position to avoid contact with the vehicle frame and heat shield. His prices are extemely fair and he has good staff in Michael, the office manager, mechanic Joel, and sometimes his mechanic Brother, Javier. Tops in integrity and experience... you can't go wrong here. BTW.. they are all very nice guys. 11/17/2018 update. Again another good experience with Luee and Joel fixing my newly acquired 2001 Honda CVR. Luee is patient, communicates well and is meticulous and conscientious. Joel is highly qualified and has a keen sense of humor, as does Luee. A lot of laughs for the three of us today. read more

Top notch service and skill. I was hesitant at first seeing only GM and Nissan/infinity certifications, BUT Luee was able to preform amazing service to my car. Keep in mind I drive a '06 525i BMW. He was able to identify the issue with my car and figure out what it was (harmonic balancer, and serpentine belt). I checked the prices and if I took it to the dealership it would've cost me ~$550, but he was able to work with me and get my total cost to $358!
