**AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Abandoned Job Mid-Move, Damaged Property, Bait and Switch**…read more I wish I could give zero stars. Yankees Movers turned what should have been a simple move into an absolute nightmare. They promised a complete move in 6-8 hours. Three hours in, supervisor Olesia said they could "only move heavy items" because they had another job. Then THEY LITERALLY ABANDONED THE JOB- just left while I was in another room, leaving OVER 70% of belongings behind. No walkthrough, no discussion, just gone. That alone is against the law. They left my old apartment a complete mess with things thrown around and trash left behind. But wait, there's more ... When they arrived at my new apartment, Olesia demanded an extra $150 for "heavy items" - a fee NEVER mentioned in our contract or conversations. Her crew refused to take furniture upstairs claiming it "wouldn't fit" without even measuring anything. The second movers I had to hire got everything upstairs just fine - so THEY LIED. PROPERTY DAMAGE - Scratched my hardwood floors, stained the carpet in the stairwell, dirtied my mattress pad from dragging it. They didn't use floor protection, furniture sliders, or shoe covers despite the flooring being brand new. I had to ask them to use a furniture blanket on the floor to avoid scratching anything else. THE WORST PART - Instead of honoring their commitment to help, they took advantage of my vulnerability. When I called Olesia out, she admitted she "miscalculated" and said that she's "only human" but said they'd only come back if I PAID THEM AGAIN. Unbelievable. She knew what to expect because I sent her several videos beforehand. They got out of there as quick as they could because they said several times they had another job three hours away. At the end, one of her movers asked for a tip saying they worked six hours straight without a break. Excuse me? I'm not their supervisor nor am I responsible to provide breaks/"something to eat." Another violation of California (labor) laws. I had to scramble to find replacement movers while in excruciating pain and pay twice for the same job. SAVE YOURSELF- This company is dishonest, unprofessional, and discriminatory. They haven't even been in business for one year. Olesia will try to gaslight you into thinking she's doing you a favor and send ChatGPT responses over text messages to avoid conversations. I can guarantee many of their reviews are fake. Complaints have been filed with the CPUC, CA Department of Consumer Affairs and others. Use literally ANY other moving company.
