I should have known better. I usually do not go to these "speedy" type places, but it was my lunch break and I was in desperate need of an oil change. Also, this company constantly advertises coupons in the Red Plum, and I am a sucker for coupons. You get what you pay for well....almost. Terrible service and long wait times. I dropped my car of in the middle of the day, with a two hour wait. They "honored" the coupon, but charged me $4 for an extra quart of oil, so by that price, I should have went elsewhere. Oh, Red Plum, you tricked me. They noted an "oil leak" on my 21 point inspection, but they were not able to tell me where the oil was leaking from. I simply asked if they had seen which direction it was coming from, when I was then told to come back and pay $45 so they could tell me where they saw it leaking out of my car. I just wanted a general idea since an oil leak can be somewhat hazardous (sarcasm intended). Their response did not make me want to become a repeat customer. Next time, I will fork out the extra money, and skip this place. read more

I can't select a zero star rating, which is what this location deserves. I went in to have my fiance's vehicle inspected and the oil changed. I corrected all of the problems last year, or so I thought. Unfortunately, my CEL burned out. The service writer who's name unfortunately escapes me, had a tone like I should've known that the light was burned out. He was also extremely rude when telling me that my vehicle had failed. When he told me that there were two fault codes on my computer, he neglected to write down the engine codes for my review. The thing that irritates me the most is the fact that he let me walk out of the shop without offering to repair my vehicles problems. The oil change was successful, but when I left the shop I noticed that the old oil change sticker hadn't been removed. They simply placed their oil change sticker next to the old one. I was told that there is 45 min wait time so I said that's ok, I can probably wait a little to get this done in weekend. I ended up waiting for hour and a half just for a oil change. So while waiting here I ended up checking their reviews on Yelp! Guess what? I should have done that sooner before coming here. Thomas, the manager, verified that they offer free alignment checks. I arrived and told him I thought I needed an alignment based on what the dealership told me at my annual inspection. He took the car and said they would check it. When my keys were returned to me, he handed me this report and stated my charge was $69.22 for the alignment. I asked him to explain as based on the report he provided, it looked like a pretty good alignment to begin with. He said, direct quote "yeah, you didn't need it, but we did adjust some things." The ONLY thing that changed was the right rear toe, which changed by 1/100th of a degree. Long story short, the regional and district managers were involved and I eventually got a refund as they should have stopped when the first alignment scan came back within spec. HOWEVER, they are a dishonest shop. The manager admitted I didn't need an alignment but charged me for one anyway. I won't be back. Yes, NTB charges a few dollars more, but they're honest about what does and does NOT need to be done. Go elsewhere for your car care needs. read more

Precision Auto Care told my sister that her oil plug was stripped and that her oil pan needed to be replaced. I took her car to where I get my oil changed and they changed the oil with no issue. She said that she had spent $700 six months earlier on shocks and struts at Precision. She was told that a flammable liquid was leaking and that her vehicle was in danger of exploding. I seriously doubt that was the case, but who knows. I know that If you need a simple oil change go anywhere else. read more

Oh.. you have to give them a 1? These really need to start with 0 stars. This little group of mechanics thought they saw me coming. I took my car in for a routine oil change and was already planning on paying for their "premium" service. Which should have been 29.95 or something. Plus tax. Turns out not only did I "need" everything flushed, they quoted me $820 +$99 to have my "oil leak" fixed and coolant flushed. "Go ahead and call and set it up with me as soon as possible! It needs to be done". Well, I've always preferred a second opinion so I took it to a mechanic that also happens to be the uncle of a friend of mine. He said whoever told me I had an oil leak (besides the usual drips older cars tend to have) is crazy and was just trying to run a game on me. The coolant did need flushed though so I gladly paid the honest mechanics (NOT AT PRECISION) and went on my way without having to dump $820 into bullsh*t repairs as quoted to me by Precision. Don't do it, don't get duped. Do your research. Had I known anymore about cars than I do I would've smelled the snake sooner. Luckily on my drive home from Precision I had an uneasy feeling about their quote and decided a 2nd opinion was necessary. Jerks. All of em. Condescending, pretentious jerks. read more

First...you should note that one of the other high reviews is "not recommended". All reviews should be shown and counted!! My Jeep Wrangler had the service engine soon light on. Typically that means one of the sensors is bad but I ran the code already and knew what it was and that the thermostat was probably stuck open and should be replaced. I will not take it just anywhere because I am leery. However, they took the time to properly diagnose the problem and determining that there was something causing the thermostat problem. They were absolutely right too. My Jeep's heater runs better and the temperature is exactly where it should be. They also recommended replacement of hte valve cover gasket which they showed me why and they were right as I had been smelling something and that explained it. There was NO high pressure upselling or tactics to try to find more wrong with my vehicle (the valve cover gasket was obvious). In fact, they attempted to do everything they could to save me money. Stopped in to this location because my car was overheating badly. After pulling the car into the garage and staring at it for a few minutes I was told that I was going to need a new engine and radiator. That I had severely blown the head gasket and the subsequent expulsion of fluid had melted the top of the radiator. I was informed that the water pump pulley had frozen and was not turning, indicating that the pump had failed. There was so much wrong with this diagnosis I don't even know where to begin. What had actually happened was that there was not enough antifreeze in the system and the lower radiator hose had a blockage of ice causing the system to overhead and expel fluid from the reservoir. The head gasket was/is fine as is the radiator and the water pump. After clearing the blockage and refilling the system, the car has run perfectly. I would caution anyone considering using this place to think again. They are either incredibly incompetent or downright dishonest. The former is certainly reason not to use them. The latter is grounds for having the franchise license revoked! read more

I went to this shop today to get a simple inspection done. Out of the gate the guy must have thought I wasn't good at reading because he tried to get me to sign a paper saying I wanted an oil change and inspection for $61. So I had to tell him again I just want an inspection and he had to printed out another paper. After about 45 minutes of them inspecting my car, which it wasn't even busy so to me it shouldn't have taken over 30 minutes, a guy comes and pulls me in the shop and told me that the manager told me that I need to replace my wipers because they "squeaked". Which the windshield wipers I had on were about 3 months old and the best you could get. Me actually knowing something about NC Inspection laws told him I never had heard that by any standards, and that any windshield wiper on a dry windshield is GONNA MAKE NOISE!!! NC Inspection laws clearly state that as long as the windshield wipers move freely(which mine did), if they can adequately remove liquids (which mine doesn't leave a streak), and that they don't show any damage (which mine were brand new so they didn't) they are okay to pass inspection. That being said there is nothing in NC laws saying that your wipers can't make noise, and that all this company wants to do is find any possible way that they can make more money. While the mechanics were very polite, the manager was very pushy and was looking for every cent. I would refer from my review and many others on this store that you stay away from this shop if possible! read more

Prior to my visit, I became concerned about how the car was running and even though I am good with computers and educated on many topics...cars is not one of those areas. So I decided it was time to get the car checked out at the local Precision Tune Auto Care. I was greeted by Damon provided me with information about current deals and what each one would entail. I was a bit nervous about the outcome of the tests and diagnostics that were performed, but was soon comforted by the level of expertise and customer service that was provided by Damon. He explained and demonstrated all that was needed to repair the issues that I was concerned about. He told me that I would feel like i was in a breand new car. He asked me to give him a call to let him know how the car drove and before I could complete my errands for the day...he called to see how the car felt. I go in for oil change, tire balance, and check my brakes.. Brakes find, I guess they changed the oil who knows... But just like others I sit waiting and told my car is hard to start , I said I know I need a fuel pump that my son is going to change for me.. NO it is more than that it is electrical they do a test and bad alternator quote me over 500 I said no , they come back little over 400 and that I need this because the alternator want last much longer and the battery is weak. So like a dumb butt I let them put the alternator on... finally get to leave around lunch time been there since they opened..at 8 .. And guess what battery light comes on.. the tires they were balanced no I don't think so.. Drove worst than before I went in.. So I take my car to another auto repair to do a alignment they have to jump start my car there just to get it into the garage ... So I call Precision and tell them that the car's battery light is on after they put a alternator on. She give me the lip service I hang up.. General Manager calls me back wants me to come there and get the alignment done.. (for free) right! They could not even notice that while they balance my tires that one of the tires need air and was gong flat... Now the General Manager says you came in with an electrical problem ... I said NO didn't have one until I came there.. I took it back for them to fix the problem ,, had to buy a battery and the alternator had to be hit several times to start charging the battery.. Now I have a noise under the hood of the car that I didn't have before going to Precision Tune told it was a belt on the alternator that is either to tight or loose. Also want who ever reads this hope it is before you go... That they want to find anything and everything they can wrong w/ your car so they make you feel like you need to fix it now.. I watched them at work I was there long enough to watch them everyone that came in , they always came back with you need this etc also. MONEY , MONEY ,, I have been told as of today that there Tech's are told they have to look for more problems for repair.... . This little simple visit oil change , tire balance , check brake pads, cost me 635.16 I think they should have gave me the battery and not charged me their so called cost which I have also found out wasn't there cost still higher ..... Worst Service center. I went to get my state inspection and wheel alignment for my car. When i walked in they said it will take about 30-45 mins, and i went back to the service center after an hour. They said wheel alignment machine is down, and they get the state inspection done if i want. I have told them that i want get both of them done at one place, then this guy went inside for a minute and came back and told me that system is fixed and they will take care of the wheel alignment and inspection. I went home, and then i got a call back from the service center saying the machine is broke again, i have told them i will come back and pick my car. While i was on my way, they call me again and told me that wheel alignment system is up and they will fix it. Finally, when i got my car back after wasting my entire day going back and forth to this place, i feel i was cheated. I really doubt if they have done the wheel alignment as my car is still pulling to right. When i asked this question, they said my tires could be reason for pulling . I just got brand new tires last week from Costco and that was the one of the reason for getting the wheel alignment to make sure my new tires don't worn out unevenly. Please don't go this place. read more
