They tried charging me $860 for a 15 minute tow I was crying and in an emergency driving home after I graduated college I payed $650 after they didn't tell us where my car was for 2 days. $3000 for a refurbished engine with a year warranty, 1 year later I'm already car shopping again because the engine is having severe problems. Not to mention I had to go back several times to fix the engine they put in. A Toyota Camry isn't that hard to work on. The picture I included shows one of the times I went back and he quoted me $300 to fix my AC at the time was broke. I should have gotten that in writing because he charged me $700+ for the AC. My mom had to pay him cash. In addition the driver REFUSED to give her a receipt, so she can't even get reimbursed from her insurance company and when I try to call them they hang up on me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The dispatcher was so nice and set my husband and I at ease when we called, the good experience ended there. They took complete advantage of our vulnerable situation - replacing an alternator that was not bad, charging us for time spent waiting for their service vehicle to be towed out of the ditch their mechanic pulled himself into, added a $295 "call out fee" that was not disclosed, and then held us hostage to pay a bill we didn't agree to. I pleaded with the mechanic to have his boss contact us, called the service lines, and received no response. The mechanic claimed he didn't know his manager's phone number and that they communicated exclusively via facebook messenger. We have called everyday to try to resolve the issue with the invoice - no response, silenced calls, or they pick up and hang up immediately. From my experience, I would take everything that is written here verbatim, or literally. I didn't let them steal $500 from me but they did end up with an additional $140 than they promise. When I called, they kept hanging up, sending my call to dial-tone. Until eventually, they played a phone sex voicemail prompt. It was a cowardly ploy, and dishonest. The drivers are knowledgeable about towing, but it is not just to get you out of a jam, it's to hold your vehicles at their lots if you aren't convincing enough for them. I was told $195 per hour flat rate starting from where the driver was once the driver called me to confirm the arrival time. At 2:20pm I called. 4:00pm the driver called and said he was leaving Waukegan and heading to me. 4:17pm he arrived. 6:47pm the driver arrived at the garage. Finally, Tracy Thompson called with the link for the invoice and apologized the cost was $4,500 but she had to fix it. She then sent $2800+ invoice for time 2:20-6:47= 4:27 hours*$195=$832.65. Flat tire & no spare (a modern problem). Had car taken 21 miles to my local tire shop. Truck operator was efficient and friendly. But then the trouble began! The bill and receipt both disappeared from my text messages overnight (did you know that can be done now, at least on an android phone?). I needed the receipt to file for insurance reimbursement so I called. They never answer. You have to leave your number in voicemail and will get an immediate callback. The woman who called took my info and said she would send a copy of the receipt. Five days later, it had not arrived. Plus, my phone number had apparently been blocked; I was never allowed to leave a voicemail message again. I had to drive to their address and find the unoccupied office in an auto repair shop. I got lucky. The man at the repair shop desk was able to figure out how to pull and print the receipt for me. Outrageous charges for the tow, too -- an average of $40/mile! Absolute scam! Get quote in writing. Let me repeat, if you use this service, which I strongly recommend against, make them put their final price in writing, at least via email or text. They quoted me $225 final price. I gave them pick up and drop off address. I verified it was the final price with no hidden costs. I called back again to verify the final price. When it came time to drop off the car, they demanded $548!!! Or $500 if paid in cash. This company will play the game when you call them back to ask them to honor the agreed upon price. They will say that they don't know who quoted you the price. They will transfer you around. Hang up on you. Finally they told me the driver will just impound the car if I don't pay full price and it's a civil matter so nothing the police could do about it. I called the police regardless. When the police arrived the driver let my car go for $350 rather than the $548 credit/$500 cash. I will be contacting the Attorney General, the BBB and their local police department.
