    Turkey Breast Sandwich
    Dona P.

Welcome to real deli- like an old school bodega, with fresh cut deli meats, and allll the toppings ! Including gluten free bread ! Has one of the BEAT bfast sandwiches I had tasted in a looonngggg while, two eggs perfectly cooked / turkey sausage and provolone! I added LTO mustard and chili paste- FABULOUS!! Have had a turkey sandwich here as-well that really hit right. They have the traditional oil vinegar blend for sandwich toppings as well! Great chips and drinks options- the ladies who work here are FABULOUS, kind and warm. Great outdoor seating and some indoor as well.

Grilled Cheese Panini to go with a big ass iced tea!
    Paul J.

While attending a business meeting in the bowels of DC, I had the opportunity to order a quick lunch to go from Prego Deli. I chose the grilled cheese panini with a large iced tea. Simple, easy. And when it arrived, I was surprised at how much gooey cheese was in the sandwich. And the best thing about it, there were grill marks on the bread with a nice taste of char. A unique grilled cheese for sure. Best of all, the large iced tea wasn't just large, it was officially "big-assed"! These folks knew exactly what I needed! If you're ever near Prego Deli, stop in for lunch. You won't be disappointed!

Great selection of sandwiches, salads, breads, meats, etc. Hole in the wall that you have to check out!

    #4 - Prego's Italian Cold Cut
    Toya D.

Just adding pics of today's dinner! I normally get the Famous Italian Cold Cut, but wanted more. #4 - Prego's Italian Cold Cut (Mortadella, Bologna, Genoa Salami, Capicolla, Provolone Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Hot pepper, Oil & Vinegar) with extra meats (Prosciutto and Pepperoni), Olives, and Sweet Peppers *drool* This is it. The perfect sub to share...or keep all to yourself. So good. So right! Prego NEVER disappoints. __ IG: @f.hux I #yelp and I know things. Wanted something slight but filling and this place definitely had exactly that. Menu is extensive with breakfast, lunch and dinner if you like. Walking it was clean and friendly. The sandwich I got was a chicken pesto panini, the bread used for the panini absolutely amazing ! Tasted freshly baked and as If I was eating a pizza with perfect crust and grill marks. The problem i had with the sandwich was that the pesto wasn't really present as I really looked forward to that the most and the chicken although a good portion was dry and kind of bland. I loved the fresh ingredients which clearly shines threw through taste and sight but I would love to try other menu items as they serve breakfast and lunch sandwiches and having a sandwich that's flavorful and filling with a good price point is my kind of place. Will be coming back and maybe ask for more pesto next time but also try the other options available.

    Cuban Sandwich
    Laura W.

While I can only speak to my delivered sandwich, I can attest that they make a tasty, albeit non-traditional, Cuban that is easily 2 meals in one order. I added hot peppers which was a nice addition in order to balance out some of the saltiness from the pork and ham. My only complaint would be the bread that sandwich came on. It was much more like a hoagie roll so it would have been nice to be pressed just like a traditional Cuban. Otherwise, though, I enjoyed the sandwich (which was well-kept in it's package, hot, and not soggy) and would happily order from here again when I'm in the workplace.

Bacon egg and cheese croissant and breakfast bagel sandwich

There are a fair share of breakfast sandwich places in Eastern Market. But when it's afternoon and all of those places are closed, Pregos really came through for us. Timing is important for these things and on this cold day we were greeted by the cheesiest, crispiest, most magnificent breakfast sandwiches ever. They had plenty of options for bagels and meat options as well including turkey sausage. We were very pleasantly surprised by this spot and plan to return again.

    Reuben
    Monique V.

I was so disappointed to receive this Reuben!!! Unacceptable!!! The bread was burnt and there was hardly no meat, sauerkraut or thousand Island dressing. To pay $12.95 for this is horrible. It won't happen again!!! They need to go to New York or locally to Deli City to see how a real Reuben is made !!!

Located in such cute little area of the city. It was such a nice day out and I walked all the way here. So many people were out or working at the coffee shops near by; it was lovely. They made my sandwich super fast. I walked in and told them what I wanted and they got right to work. The only other people in the store were school kids who had gotten off the bus and were getting an after school snack. I built my own sandwich. The bread was fresh and all the veggies were too. I don't get any meat on my sandwich, and sometimes that makes for a sad sandwich at other places. Not here! They had a good amount of cheese and loaded the veggies on. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had. The only thing to note is I did get vinegar on my sandwich and during my 10 minute walk back home the bread got slightly soggy. That's obviously not Prego's fault. That's the nature of putting a liquid on bread. But if that does bother you maybe eat it there! Each time I come to D.C. I'll definitely be grabbing a lunch from here.

I found 2 Sisters Deli on Yelp and it was within walking distance from where we were. There was a line, but it went quickly. All the ladies are super friendly. There's a decent amount of seating inside, none available outside. They don't have water available for your own water bottles, but they have fountain drinks and other bottled beverages. The cashier told us to go find a place to sit and they'd bring our food to us, but all the tables were packed! When she saw us standing there, she asked if there was any seating available and we told her no. She then took our food from the tray there were going to serve it on and nicely packaged it up for us to take to go. She told us there was a Holiday Inn next door with a courtyard, tables and chairs and places to charge our phones. So we went there! The sandwiches are a very generous size. My daughter got a Brooklyn sandwich which is roast beef, banana peppers, American cheese and thousand island dressing. I got a "build your own" sandwich with roast beef, lettuce, tomato, red onion, bacon, mayo and mustard. I couldn't eat all of mine, but my daughter devoured hers! We both really enjoyed our sandwiches!

Breakfast: They have your standard breakfast sandwiches. If you are keto, they can make you egg, cheese, bacon in a small cup. I ordered that often, but their homemade biscuits are really good. I like their bacon egg and cheese biscuits and their croissant bacon egg and cheese biscuits are good too. Lunch: Standard fare for delis. Italian subs, turkey sandwiches, etc. You can make it a combo with soda and chips (on display opposite register).

I wasn't anticipating a nice dining room to dine in, but there it was so we did. Although it was uncomfortably warm in there. Must have been something wrong with their A/C because they couldn't possibly always have it so warm, especially in the middle of summer. I ordered The Clevelander and she had The Mel. And of course we hit their awesome pickle bar! Why doesn't every deli in the universe have a pickle bar?! The sandwiches are piled high with meat and so delicious. Several complaints about mine, however: the menu said it comes with mayo and provolone. It came out with no spread at all so I was brought mayo packets to apply myself, which is way less than ideal with a huge already assembled sandwich. And the brand new server (on her second day there) came back after we ordered and asked if I wanted cheese. I mentioned I thought it listed a cheese on the menu, which she confirmed. But then I ended up getting charged extra for the cheese that my sandwich was supposed to come with. Kind of lame. And while my friend was asked if she wanted hers toasted, I was not. I didn't think twice about it until mine came out toasted, which I neither asked for or wanted. Lastly, the sandwich was also supposed to come with "fresh cranberry spread" and if there was any on my sandwich, it wasn't detectable. But I decided not to even mention it because I didn't want to deconstruct my sandwich a second time. Regardless of these hiccups, I would certainly consider returning.
