Pains me to write this review as I've been a customer for over 20 years and typically have nothing…read morebut good things to say, and they have helped me out of many jams. They have even fixed minor problems, and refused any sort of payment multiple times. My car battery tested unusually low during my inspection, I was asked to come back to double check as it was extremely cold that day. I stopped by a couple weeks later. They are too booked to do, it. Isabella tells me to bring it back Thursday morning. Bring the car back Thursday morning. Patrick clearly annoyed with the fact I was in the shop. Not sure if I wasn't put on the schedule appropriately, or just having a personal bad day. Car battery gets checked. Patrick has battery tested "it's at 56% you're good to go." I inquire if that is normal for a battery I believed to only be a year old? "Yeah new batteries can test as low as 80% in this weather, so 56-80% is acceptable." This was said in front of a full waiting room. I inquire with friends more mechanically inclined than me. I am informed yes l, weather will affect the test but, that's testing at a 2 year old charge. Patrick couldn't be bothered to look up as to when the battery was replaced for me to confirm the date. Didn't discuss how the warranty would be determined. A 24% margin of error seems pretty high for a determining factor on a warranty. Didn't tell me what determines an under performing battery, and what would qualify for replacement. Nor tell me when the warranty expires, to potentially bring it back in warmer weather to test again, before the warranty is null. Very disappointed, this is not reflective of brand and service I have become accustomed to, glad they have a second location. I will be avoiding the Transit location.

OMG...Scruggs on transit I love this place... They are so honest.. they don't try to sell you…read moresomething you don't need. I first went to them when one of the car dealerships said that the computer on my car needed to be replaced.. NOw any other place you would go would say oh yea you need that.. 2 hours after I dropped my car off I received a call from Scruggs telling my car was ready.. Said that I only needed an inspection and a new battery... nothing wrong w/ the car.. then i took my newer car to Scruggs on transit for an oil change.. i get a call back that i needed a lot of work done.. head gasket etc.. something you would think that the dealership would've taken care of...once i received the cost i was ready to cry.. they offered me a 3rd party lender.. YAYYYY!! that was awesome.. the people there are the greatest..Henry, Patrick, Carmine (he did the work on my car), Isabella.. I was treated like one of the family.. i will be going there anytime i need to have something done on the car.. you should go too.... THEY ARE THE BEST!! SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE REST!!

Please think twice before bringing this company your business…read more I have no complaints about my initial interaction. I went to them to take advantage of their lease to own and got two tires, payments to be made weekly. Everyone was polite, process was quick. No complaints there. Before I get into my complaint I want to be completely transparent about a few things. First, I failed to thoroughly read the contract I signed. I figured I would have it paid off before I ever had to worry about the terms and that's on me. Second, I also failed to maintain my side of the agreement starting in April, 2025, more to come on that. Third, I am not here to claim they have done anything legally wrong. I'm not a lawyer and although I have suspicions this borders on the lines of predatory lending practices, I don't actually think they crossed any lines LEGALLY. As I said, I ended up not being able to make my weekly payments mid April. I had a few things happen in my life that I wasn't expecting and I decided that keeping a roof over my family's head and food on the table was more important than keeping the payments for the tires. There was only about $50 in payments left which means I was essentially paying off the remainder of the financing charges I had accrued. Mind you, I didn't ghost them. I kept in contact and made sure they knew I still had every intention of making the payments when I could, but I wasn't going to go hungry for them. During that time I received repeated text messages from them, which eventually turned into threats to make house calls that they did end up following through on in an attempt to intimidate me into a payment, even after I explained that I simply didn't have the money to make the payments, period, and that I would be making one as soon as I could. After this the threats from them got worse and more frequent. Not only were they threatening the house calls, but they were also threatening to recover the tires and made house calls in an attempt to do so. After being unsuccessful with the retrieval attempt, they proceeded to send me a text telling me that if I didn't make a payment they would be closing my account and filing a CIVIL LAWSUIT against me for breach of contract. Again, I'm fairly certain they were within their legal right to do all of this. My issue is the implications of their actions and the fact that they are willing to put their profits (not operating expenses, PROFITS) ahead of the wellbeing of a member of the community they do business in. Had they repossessed the tires, they would have taken away my ability to get to work effectively removing my ability to not only pick the payments back up, but also my ability to get to work, to the store or anything else without adding expenses to an already extensive list. If they had filed a civil lawsuit, they would have come after me for the remaining balance (about $75 at the time) plus whatever compounded interest/fees they would have tacked on AND any legal fees they saw fit, which would have done nothing short of financially ruining me for years to come. I brought all of this to their attention in plain English and they responded with the BS business cliche (and fallacy I might add) that "if every customer did this we couldn't offer payments." That's nonsense. My situation and whether or not they decide to repossess tires or file a civil lawsuit has no impact on anyone else, their payments or their likelihood to maintain their contracts. In addition to that, we're only talking about $75 in financing charges. Even IF I went no contact, completely defaulted and showed no interest in making the payments, that $75 becomes a tax write off at the end of the year and wouldn't impact their ability to continue to do business whatsoever. In my opinion, this company doesn't deserve the business of our community. We pride ourselves on being the "City of Good Neighbors" and a good neighbor doesn't bully, threaten and try and intimidate you by holding financial ruin over your head because you owe them $75 especially when it's blatantly obvious you're already going through an impossibly difficult time. Shame on you, RNR. I hope that $75 was worth it.

After calling around to a couple of places and being told a number of times I could only get the work done at a dealer, Continental Transmission was able to quote me with a slightly lower rate for my car. Having been recommended to this shop by some friends I decided to go with them! To replace it they needed to tow my car to the dealer only to reprogram it, but overall they were able to get the job done at a lower rate than it would have been had I tried to take my car anywhere else. To that I am very grateful! It took about a week or so for them to get all of the work done. They called me when the work was finished and now my car is running the way it should be! The staff here was very friendly, they were straightforward with informing me of all of the things they had done to my car. No gender bias at all! I would definitely recommend this shop for any kind of serious transmission work.
