Our tech was Donovan Romo. He was on time in the given time window, knew his craft well and fixed our emergency water leak in a timely fashion. We liked the fact that you get 3 quotes, and we went with new parts, as our house is 20 years old. Price quoted for the work that was done, was fair and even discounted a bit. I would rate Scott Hale Plumbing as a top shelf business, where you get equal top shelf service. Also, Donovan was a great tech. Thank you... Matt H

I've been a Scott Hale customer for many years now. They've done many jobs for me and they also…read morereplaced my water heater, furnace and AC unit when they conked out. The old furnace went out the day before Thanksgiving one year, and they had a new one installed and running the same day. I appreciate the employees who have provided good service over the years. In the beginning I referred friends to SH, saying they are not necessarily cheap but they do good work. (Looking back, I realize however that I overpaid for the new water heater and other some other major expenses, I was just naïve and didn't do due diligence. More about overcharging below.) That being said, I've given up on SH. Too often my encounters with its employees go wrong. The person they send may or may not have experience with my issue, and they never ask for help from other employes. One recommended I have a new air intake installed (he came twice and couldn't get rid of the awful noise) and when I finally got a different guy over, he fixed the whistling noise just by recaulking the area; it was gone in minutes. Another guy made excuses for the (unsupervised) people who ripped up large patches of drywall because they didn't know to go through an interior wall; SH paid for the extra drywall repairs, which I appreciated. Another guy freaked out about the "sewage" he imagined must be under the board beneath my sink (there was none). Another couldn't tolerate me saying that I had never had a leaky condensation pipe until they replaced the AC. My 10+ years in my home meant nothing, and this is consistent: many times the repairmen will not give credence to anything I say, and however neutrally I state it, react as if I'm challenging them in some way. The latest incident is the $1800 estimate for replacing my kitchen sink (labor only). The guy said it would take 2-3 hours to remove the old sink (!!) and added that he would "cap the pipes" so I wouldn't lose water to the rest of house. I mean, there's upselling and then there's just BS. The plumber I hired removed the old sink in 20 mins and is charging a few hundred dollars for the whole job (including installing the new one). And of course the water to the house didn't have to be shut off, there are valves right under the sink. I'm really appalled they would just...lie.

Blake S. arrived early during the service window and was very clear and up front about what needed to be done and the price. He had an apprentice with him so I listened as they did the work. It was a rare chance to hear the "why" behind the process (but I like learning new things that I will probably never do myself!) They left the bathroom clean and tidy when the drain was unclogged and running clean again. Blake even closed the gate as he left so my doggos didn't get out. Added note: I have used 1st American for different projects over the last 2 years or so. I was referred to them because they don't engage in the predatory practices of other companies that come in with a sales pitch and a membership before addressing the task at hand. I forgot that, apparently, because yesterday I had another plumber come out as I was lured by a $39 drain unclog offer. They gave me a quote of $1,100 and I sent them packing. Today's drain unclog and cleaning was less than a quarter of what the other company wanted for services I didn't ask for. Get quotes and slow down the process. If you are feeling pressured, you are working with the wrong company.

Estimate to have kitchen sink remounted and install a faucet I purchased was over $1,100. I called another company.... Price to do the same exact thing...400.00. (Amazing plumber and great work) When I asked 1st American plumbing why so expensive, the answer was..Well, with Covid, things have gotten more expensive. Sick and tired of that answer. But most of all, sick of companies using that as an excuse to rip me off. I've worked hard for my money.

It didn't take very long for him to find the problem and complete the repair. I've had Thompson's work on my air conditioner/furnace previously and they deserve the very top in ratings. P.S. I wanted to see if he had any spare filters but I didn't catch him before he left. I'll have to drop by your office to get them.

I've reviewed Thompson's Comfort Connection (TCC) multiple times here over the 15+ years I've been…read moreon Yelp, and have always given them top ratings every time. And after a four-year period where everything has been running great, I had to have TCC come out again to check on my 17-year-old Amana high-efficiency furnace and the blower that brings in fresh air to the burners and exhausts combustion gases to an outside port along our front wall. That fan was running but cycling on and off, and we could smell some gas there at the exhaust exit panel outside. One quick email on Sunday, the 7th, and Austin from TCC arrived Monday morning to check out our issue. After disassembling our "inducer" motor/blower (a small fan in a gas furnace that creates a draft, pulling in fresh air for combustion and exhausting dangerous exhaust gases out through the flue) housing, Austin found the problem. After 17 years of use, the blower housing drain port was clogged (spider nest? dirt? both?) Austin cleaned it all out and flushed all the rubber drain tubes as well (which were also pretty gnarly), and that fixed it! All back together and running great...and the inducer blower now stays on and runs great. We're back in business on a solid 17-year-old Amana H.E. furnace! Five stars for prompt service response, fair pricing ($287 out the door), and a pleasant, professional, and communicative repair technician...Austin. Solidly recommend TCC, and ask for Austin if you can! Five Stars! P.S.: My neighbor across the street called me the next day and said that "...her furnace has just stopped working. Who would I recommend?" I didn't hesitate to recommend TCC...and they were there later that day. Their technician replaced their main furnace blower motor at a fair price. Two happy customers in three days.

He arrived on time, explained the problem clearly, and went over the repair without any pressure. The work was done the same day, and our AC has been working great ever since. I put out for bids on an install of the ductwork and vents through the roof connecting to bathroom fans, and one through an exterior wall that would connect to a kitchen range. I received several responses from HVAC specialists knowing what the job entailed and providing a range of bids for the service. Manwill responded with a message refusing the service and telling me I need an electrician to do this installation. My electrician explicitly requested an HVAC specialist to run the new ductwork and connect the fans to the ventilation system. For being a longstanding business in the community, and a service that installs AC & heating systems requiring ductwork and ventilation, I was surprised they don't understand an electrician doesn't typically provide these HVAC services. I wouldn't have requested the service if I didn't know who I needed the service from. This indicated they most likely neglected to read the details of the request and assumed it was a small job they didn't want. Either way, with their lack of clarification prior to refusing the service, followed by their misinformation and misdirection to a different service altogether, I won't be requesting services from Manwill in the future. This isn't difficult because I've used them prior for annual maintenance calls and they're one of the most expensive HVAC providers in the state. Easy choice. Find another HVAC provider if you don't want to be dismissed or paying too much.
