So I had to buy another one from another shop due to the distance from Rockville, I called them to try to get my money back for the bad part and was told " That I had a warranty and I should have brung it back to them" So basically sorry for your loss. It might sound ridiculous to give a mechanic 5 stars, but this guy certaintly deserves each and everyone of them. Upon doing my morning bargain hunting for some breakpads, using Yelp, I found Premier Motors. First off, let me just state that at the point I'm writing this review, Premier Motors has 5 stars with 32 reviews. That's cray cray. So I stumble upon this Yelp listing and think to myself...hmmm what is this man doing to get such ratings. I call up and ask for the price of just brakepads on my 2007 Hyundai Sonata. I know that usually when mechanics replace brakepads they also try and sell the rotors. But, I was told that this was not 100 percent necessary, I was just asking for a price on brakepads. The person on the phone tells me that they don't just do brakpads and here's why. Paraphrasing: Everytime I just replace a person's brakepads, they come back 8-9 months later complaining about vibrations and ask me for the rotors. I don't really want to let you walk out of my shop with a potential problem. What I can do is the front brake pads and rotors for 325. The 10 mechanics I spoke to before him were not nearly as forthcoming. I said, "hey I just wanted to get an estimate on replacing front brake pads" they would say A: " Ok, what car" B: " You sure you don't want the rotors as well" I'd say, " no just the brake pads" and they would say "Ok the price on that is 180-250" So, not only because of his true want to do an honest and good job, also because of his very very reasonable price: I decided to go with him. I drive up- the place is fairly hidden but is about 5 minutes from Rockville Town Center. The garage is clean, the inside admin area is clean. You can tell this man takes pride in his shop. They also have a shuttle service that will drive you to Rockville Town Center while you wait for your car. Once your car is done they'll pick you up too! NOW THAT'S SERVICE! Everything was done sooner than expected. He did my classic "under-promise over-deliver" trick. Everything about the experience was just top notch. I've been taking my cars to Premiere for over 2 years. Both of the cars broke down during the week of my dad's funeral, just as our extended family was due to fly in. I was obviously a bit stressed, but Premier Motors went above and beyond all expectations. D took both cars and arranged a rental for me. He could have easily taken advantage of me as I was obviously overwhelmed, but he did the opposite, arranging a rental for me. Not just any rental: without asking me, he arranged for a beautiful dark navy Chevy Tahoe SUV that was perfect for getting my immediate family to the funeral and associated events. That showed that D had actually listened to me. He took the work off my plate, allowing me to focus on my family. I haven't used anyone else since. My sister took her car to get fixed and they used up all her gas joyriding and left her tank empty. They only offered her $20 to compensate but that's not enough when you are purchasing premium gas. They also charged her for services that she did not ask for and her vehicle did not need trying to scam her for extra money. Based on the positive Yelp ratings, I took my car here to get a vehicle inspection so I could register it in Maryland. The owner/manager, who called himself "D", told me I'd need to get some minor body damage fixed in order for the vehicle to pass. I refused and took the car elsewhere where they said that the dents and scratches weren't part of the safety inspection (I looked online at the state guidelines as well and didn't see anything about body damage). I seems like Premier was trying to get me to spend a lot of money to get the cosmetic damage fixed at their shop prior to passing my car. I will not go here again. read more

Just wanted to add a student's perspective to this company. Based on the terrific reviews for this auto shop, I took a chance from my regular mechanic and took my car here, for them to check out a problem my regular mechanic diagnosed, but could not fix due to lack of equipment. The folks here were super nice, very friendly, and dropped me off at the Rockville metro station so I could get to work after dropping off my car. Got a call at work with their diagnoses and an EXORBITANT estimate for the fix, which they claimed required the replacement of an entire system, and would literally cost me a third the value of my car (it's secondhand). They charge $70 for an estimate if you don't choose to do the fix with them, which I definitely did not do, so I just ate the estimate fee in silence. Wish they had warned me about the estimate fee beforehand. I had also asked them about a stuck seat, which they said would also cost quite a bit, since the mechanism had to be replaced. I went back to my old mechanic down the street (who laughed at their estimate when I asked him about it). He drove my vehicle to another town to another person's shop, where they did the major fix the old-fashioned way: fixing what was broken, instead of replacing the entire system. He also disassembled the stuck seat and unstuck it, as apparently it wasn't broken in the first place. No need to pay for a replacement part there, either. These two fixes cost me less than 25% of Premier's estimate, which means a lot to a student. I'm sure these guys will do a great job for your vehicle, if money is not a worry for you. But if you'd like to save your wallet along with your car, my advice is to try somewhere else. read more

MD Auto Shop: "Oh, that will be $95-$115." No joke, those were the conversations that I had with about 5-7 different auto shops in Montgomery County. Then, I found Premier Motors. Not only is the price right (since I got this done several months ago, I can't recall the exact figure, but I remember it being at least $40 cheaper than all the other places), but the service is excellent. The manager, Dikran Diarbian, is considerate, attentive, and just basically . . . a cool dude. This is my first yelp review sadly to say. I recently purchased a vehicle out of state and needed a state inspection performed. Mind you I live in Silver Spring and drove up to Premier Motors for the inspection and I was not disappointed. The building is in the cut near the Rockville metro station but it can easily be found. I recently moved to the area and had to get the state safety inspection for my vehicle. After searching around Yelp for a good place I ended up at Ormsby Automotive. They were very friendly, but the list of things that needed fixed on my car was bizarre and not on the official state safety inspection list. For instance, While parked in a parking lot a few months ago another car scratched me, but not badly enough that my insurance company was willing to do anything about it. Ormsby said that was one of my failing qualities. So i went to Premier Motors. Different people kept recommending this place to me and it was worth it. The owner, D, was kind and down to earth. He told us everything that needed to be fixed, which for the most part we could do ourselves, and even tweaked a couple of small things for us that we missed without charging extra. I had a problem with my 10 year old car not starting properly. I went to an autozone and had them pull the code from the computer to see something was wrong with the transmission. I got a few opinions from different places that all told me to replace the transmission (to the tune of $1500-$2000). When I took it to Premier Motors I told them about the issues I've been having. They diagnosed the problem as instead the battery. It costs $115 dollars to replace the battery and I haven't had any problems since. My battery on my car died at my job and I needed a place to replace it in a hurry so I could get home. I looked on Yelp and saw the reviews for Premier Motors and called to see if I could get a battery change in a hurry. I was told to come at 3pm. I got to the shop on a wing and a prayer, after getting a jump start. I was about 10 feet away from the shop when my car stalled and died. I had to walk the rest of the way to the shop. The manager Dikran was very helpful and gave me an education on my car. He also advised me to other options if i was needing a new or used car. My experience was great and I felt like they gave me straight forward information about my car. It has a lot of miles on it and other issues. This place is amazing! I've been here twice and I already feel like a regular. I've never been charged for issues that don't require repair (even for the time it took to investigate), and I've never been pushed into unnecessary repairs. Each time I've brought my cars here, I've ended up chatting with D, the owner/manager. He's a nice and knowledgeable guy who always takes the time to answer my questions. One time, I overheard him on the phone telling a customer that a competitor's price was reasonable. I was astounded! The service is fast and of high quality. I'm always in and out in the same day, and I've never had a follow-up issue. I can't speak highly enough about these guys. The manager/owner of this place is as honest and experienced as it can be. This is a rare breed of honest car service store anywhere in the Metro DC area. They are the only ones I have seen that can correctly do a car alignment without find excuses to charge more for a mediocre job which I had in the past at many large companies with advertisment everywhere. These guys grow by word of mouth and are quite glad with the work that God brings their way. Keep up the good work. One last thing. When they make an appointment for you rest assured that your time will be respected. I have been taken care immediately upon arriving for my appointments. This place is great! As others have said, their inspection price is $55, which was at least $25 less than all the other places I called. The whole process only took about 45 minutes, which included the 2 minor fixes they had to perform. In addition to inspecting the required points, the nice mechanics let me know that my AC belt was cracked, which I didn't need for the inspection, but it was nice that they told me and didn't pressure me to have it fixed there. That said, I will definitely bring my car there for the AC belt and for other services! read more

I'm always weary when choosing a mechanic because I always feel like they over charge for everything. Came out of work today and while walking up to my car noticed that there was a big plastic piece hanging off the bottom of my car. I was nervous about driving it home so I checked yelp to find a trusty mechanic that was nearby. Though there are about 4 different body shops on the same road, I'm so glad that I found premier motors. The owner said hello to me as soon as he saw me and got right to work. He couldn't see under the car so he put it on a rig to get it higher up. Turns out a piece of the sleeve holding the plastic had broken off. He told me that it wasn't worth reordering and zip tied it into place. Problem solved. I wasn't there for more than 10 minutes but I expected to be charged since he had to hoist my car up. When he pulled my car around he told me that there was no charge and to enjoy my day. I definitely plan on coming back here if I ever have any future problems with my car. I had to get the bumpers replaced on my 98 Camry for a state inspection. They gave me an up-front quote of $360 per bumper, which at first I thought seemed excessive. So I called a few other shops in the area, all of which gave me quotes of around one grand to $1,300. The shop reminded me of our family mechanic's when I was growing up - clean, well run, and the owner was professional, friendly and honest. I got the $55 inspection that other people mentioned. I asked him about another problem I was having with my car and he recommended I go back to the dealer to have it fixed - and told me the car was still under warranty. Duh, I know, I'm an idiot for not knowing that. But I'm a super busy new mom with a 4-month-old and some days I don't even remember what day of the week it is. Stay AWAY! They lie to get your money! I went to Premier Motors because I was reading such wondering things on Yelp. I will tell you - if you have an older car DO NOT GO TO THEM. I took our 2001 Chevy Cavalier there, for a vehicle inspection and to be worked on. He told me over the phone that the car was in such bad shape and to bring it up to Maryland standards it would cost me nearly $1,800. At the time I took the car in- he stated the check engine light was on for a small emissions leak. That was a lie! Anyway I told him that that was all the car needed, to go ahead and fix it. The repair included struts, rotor, and new brakes, re pointing the headlight as well as charging me $25 to replace the $3 light by my back license plate. He took me for a ride. I picked up the car and it started making a popping sound every time we stopped- a problem we did not previously have. I brought it back to them- asked them to test drive it, then fix the problem. They admitted they didn't test drive it, but rather "shaved down my brake calipers." A process I had never heard of and thought- why wasn't that down when the rotors, struts and brakes where replaced. I have since worked on the car my self and have taken it to two different mechanics in town. Premier Motors lied about the check engine light- the code read for major emissions leak- not minor. The headlight- that they insisted needed re pointed and replaced- built out immediately- which I replaced and found wiring problems. I just spoke to a mechanic for the emission leak (not minor) and he told me the hole back in the car frame is rusted out. The car is not worth spending more money on. Now please try to tell me Premier Motors did not notice the rusted frame. A RUSTED FRAME should have never of passed the MD inspection. If premier motors had been honest with me when I brought the car in Feb 2013, I would not have spent the $1,800 repairing it, and would have put that money towards a down payment to a new car. They wanted the money and did not honestly state the status of the car. Stay AWAY for from them. read more

This business works for insurance companies. If you want someone fair who advocates for the consumer, this is NOT the place. After taking off of work early for a scheduled estimate, I called Premier Motors on the way and the man I spoke to asked for more details on my body damage. After explaining the minor front end damage on my '97 (car is completely mechanically sound), the man began to talk about how cars are totaled, explaining he knows all about the process because he works for the insurance companies (should've raised a huge red flag). I then disclosed that the insurance company significantly overestimated the repairs, and thus totaled my car, so I was in the process of obtaining third-party estimates and additional evidence to prove to the insurance company that their estimate was inaccurate, and thus my car is not totaled under their definition. All I am seeking is fair and accurate service on the part of the insurance company, after all, that's why we all pay for insurance each month. I told him once they pay me what I'm owed, I'd come back for body work. At this point the man from Premier Motors cut me off and said that he, "didn't want to be involved because what you're doing is WRONG." When I then asked him for a recommendation of another good body shop, he sharply and condescendingly responded, "we don't do recommendations." When I asked for an explanation as to why, as a body shop professional and someone who says he works for insurance companies, he thinks what I'm doing is wrong, he had no explanation to offer other than that he didn't want to be involved, that I can find another body shop, and "I'm done with this," then hung up on me. I was speechless. My only logical conclusion for his rude refusal of service is that it would be a conflict of interest for him to potentially disagree with the insurance's estimate (don't bite the hand that feeds you!!!). Clearly he's paid too much by insurance companies to service we the consumers, the underdogs when it comes to our rights after an accident. Don't be a passive consumer, know your rights, and give your money to a business deserving of it. read more
