Christmas cookies. So absolutely delicious. The cookies are better than homemade and so perfectly decorated.

I was parked kitty corner to this place,  had Google maps open on my phone,  and still wasn't sure what building this was in,  lol.  A Yelp photo actually helped me find it.  Premier Pastry is written on the windows,  but there's no other sign that I saw. When you walk in,  you can basically walk right into their kitchen. To the left is an amazing display of wedding cakes in a room,  to the right is a case of what is ready to take to go.  Someone saw me right away and explained that to me.  It's sort of confusing. I got a chocolate peanut butter mousse cup that was very good.  It was a chocolate ball just filled with peanut butter mousse.  Really good. I got a chocolate Bailey's cupcake,  and a chocolate cupcake for my mom.  I don't like chocolate cake much,  but I love Bailey's,  and the vanilla cupcake had sprinkles.  I do not like sprinkles.  Anyway,  the cupcake was way too rich and chocolatey for me,  but I imagine it would be a chocolate lover's dream.  My mom,  the chocolate lover,  loved her chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting.  And I also really enjoyed my frosting.  It tasted just like Bailey's in frosting form. Premier pastry does the BEST specialty cakes and Philip was amazing to work with! After Premier did an amazing job on my bridal shower cake, we were excited to see how our wedding reception cake would turn out. Because of COVID, we had to adjust our plans (several times) and Philip was more than accommodating. We worked with Philip to create a smaller two-tier cake for our 10-person, COVID-friendly ceremony and were able to bring our original vision to life with our reception cake for ~130 guests a year later. We went with the chocolate raspberry truffle torte cake flavor for both of our wedding cakes and it was delicious. We received a ton of compliments from our wedding guests. After a long conversation in French with a friend I was in the mood for sitting down to a nice cup if hot chocolate and some pastries. As I drove by I spotted the Premier Pastry sign, made a U tyrn parked on top of a pile of snow and went into the store. To my surprise, it was not what I had in mind. It's basically a place to place orders for cakes & pasties. A room displays like a French parlor different cakes. No place for sitting down. The lady tgat greeted me was very nice. She could notice my puzzled face as I walked in. She explained the business to me. Offered me what they had available to be purchased without ordering. There was a display of several individual tarts so I bought a sample of 5, one of each of the different tarts made. I was instructed that if not eaten the same day to put in fridge and then warm to room temp. I wa going away on a trip and I brought them alone. Each tart was delicious. I'm between an "A-OK" and a "Meh" for Premier Pastry: "Meh" for the cake and "A-OK" for the petit four platter. The Cake: Our consultation with the pastry chef was short and sweet. He was friendly and took down our requirements after showing us his wares in the Premier Pastry showroom which includes about a dozen examples of their artistry to ignite your creative fires. We were pretty un-creative and requested a very simple design: a 3-tier cake with white butter-cream frosting and green flowers that fade from dark green at the top of the cake to light green at the base of the cake. They actually have an image of a similar cake with purple flowers on their website, so we were pretty confident that we would like what we got. The chef sent us home with a box of different flavored cakes to sample so that we could choose the flavors for our layers. We didn't really like the sample cakes we tried, but we figured it was probably stale from being in a box for a while and that it perhaps it NEEDED to be dense/dry from a structural standpoint to support multiple layers of cake and butter-cream. We chose Chambord for the first layer and carrot cake for the two other layers. We were willing to sacrifice a little deliciousness for a lot of polished cake artistry. We unfortunately did not get to see the cake before it was delivered to our venue and the delivered cake was not unattractive, but the flowers were all one single color of BLUE instead of the transitioning green we requested. The rest of the party decor, our outfits, the flowers, and everything else was green, green, green. Everyone could tell the cake was wrong and now it's in our photos forevermore. Our guests ate a decent amount of the carrot cake, but the Chambord was shoved around plates. That all said, THANK GOD FOR THE PETIT FOURS... - The Chocolate Raspberry Petit Fours are the richest of rich dark chocolate and are beautifully decorated with 23K gold leaf. - The Apricot Almond Petit Fours are beautiful as well as buttery, creamy, almondy, goodness. - I recommend sucking the mousse out of the Chocolate Mousse Cups and discarding the plasticy cup. The mousse is yummy. - Avoid the Lemon Meringue Tarts at all costs. Not good. - The Tuxedo strawberries are pretty, but prepare to chew through some dense chocolate to reach the strawberry center. Do not attempt to consume if you have braces or other fragile dental work. TL;DR...Buy the Chocolate Raspberry Petit Fours and the Apricot Almond Petit Fours because they are seriously wonderful. The cake wasn't super tasty, but it would have been eye-pleasing and great in photos IF it had been the requested color...It was however not the requested color. read more

Visited here on Saturday for a pre-scheduled wedding cake tasting. Paula was extremely professional and friendly and has clearly been doing this for a long time. Their showroom is beautiful and comfortable, and not something that every bakery has available. There were albums of photos of cakes, as well as an iPad with a running photo album of examples too. Paula had great explanations for everything that her shop does or does not do to create your dream cake. We were sent home with 6 different good size samples to try. And dang were they good! I think the bride and groom (I'm in the wedding party) were sold after tasting only one kind of cake. Highly recommend! read more

I stopped by Premier Pastry the other day to try some of their cakes and sweets as an option for a wedding cake caterer, and I can definitely say these guys brought everything to the table with their guns blazing. Their precise designs are some of the best I've seen anywhere in the US and the artistry alone was sheer magnificence. You could tell every little detail of each cake was intensely cared about and elegance was just personified in every single one of their works, whether it was the threading on a baseball or the flower petals of over 100 flowers trailing down the side of a cake. When it comes to a fine hand, these guys absolutely take the cake. Unfortunately, that's mostly where the buck stops. When it came to the actual quality of the homemade cakes and tarts they produced, I was actually left terribly disappointed. Although everything was indeed made in-house (you could definitely tell there was no box mix used here!), the tart was terribly bitter despite having chocolate and pecans filled inside of it, and the cake, although fluffy, also had a bitter after taste from far too much leavener in the batter. Too much baking soda or baking powder will absolutely ruin any cake, and sadly that's exactly what happened here. On top of that, the cupcake I had was roughly 85% cake and 15% frosting, so even though it was light and fluffy, when the ratio's that great you can't help but feel the whole confection comes off a touch dry. Can't knock the chocolate frosting though! As for the tart? I don't even know where to begin. The pastry wasn't crisp and didn't taste of butter making me wonder what fat they used in making it, and the filling seemed like frangipane (that was definitely the texture) filled with pecans and semisweet chocolate chips, yet didn't taste of almond at all! Not to mention the bourbon either. So really, I have no idea what went wrong here. It's as if they left out butter, flavor, and sugar completely from some mediocre recipe ultimately leading to a dreadful product. So it's definitely with deep chagrin that I must say I will likely not return. I'd probably want to hire them to decorate someone else's cake for me because their designs are pure heaven, but when it comes to the actual desserts themselves, something's definitely missing. 3/5 stars if only for the designs themselves. read more

I give this three stars because the guy was super nice. We got the Irish cupcakes that had baileys and a Kentucky bourbon tart. The Irish cupcakes were good but they were dry and almost chalky. The Kentucky bourbon tart was incredibly crumbly to the point it was difficult to eat. It was kind of expensive compared to other bakeries. Can I gush - I'm gushing. I love a dense, moist, European-style bakery cake (which judging by the reviews people are not accustomed to?) and Premier offers that. I've ordered 4 or 5 cakes from them, plus cupcakes and have always gotten excellent dense, yet moist cake. Also, beautiful cakes! For both of my son's first birthday parties they made cakes that fit the invitations perfectly and garnered rave reviews. I just love this place. I'm giving one star because of the actual look of the cake which was pretty much what I was looking for. This is the 2nd time however that I bought a cake from them that tasted awful. The first time was in May 2015 - I reached out after and the gentleman I spoke to stated that no one else that picked up a cake that day complained. What?? What kind of excuse is that. Against my better judgement I gave them another try as someone had told me they improved. Nope - not at all. This cake I just got from them was possibly worse than the first. It was incredibly dry. It just crumbled when you cut into it. One of our guests at the party said that they felt like they were biting into a stick of butter when they ate the frosting. I threw a birthday party for a friend in November 2015 and had contacted Premier Pastry to take on the mission of making a cake for the party. I had really high standards of wanting the cake to look like a large Chanel # 5 perfume bottle and since they don't do cake pops, I wanted fondant lipstick and misc. makeup items scattered about the base of the cake. My biggest fear was that it wouldn't be done in a way that looked "classy" based on similar pictures I found online, but Philip Duquette worked with me and let me tell you they surpassed my expectations! The taste of the cake was very good, chocolate ganache and raspberry. It is very dense and rich, but you cant make cakes like these in light and fluffy or they wouldn't stand up! Philip was very good about clarifying expectations, and making sure all the little details were covered. I screwed up and did not clarify the birthday girl's name, and so they fixed/added that last minute. The BEST THING THEY DID was that my friends picked up the cake for me to bring to the party and it fell over despite their extreme caution. Turns out the cake wasn't anchored properly. They took it back to the bakery and even though it was closing Philip fixed the cake and then delivered it free of charge. I love when a company cares enough to go above and beyond. Had my friends not told me I would have never known of the mishap since Philip was ontop of it! I wish so badly I could post a picture of this cake. I hope they have it on the website it came out so amazing. They did gold leaf and the scale of the bottle was perfect. Most definitely one of the top 2 cakes I have ever seen.
