A salesperson from this company came to my house last week and asked to see my current security…read moresystem. I said okay, thinking it'd be quick, but he ended up coming inside, sitting at my dining table while I was literally in the middle of eating dinner with a guest, and kept trying to sell me for over an hour even though I told him multiple times I wasn't interested. I already have a system that I just installed a few months ago. I made it clear that I would only consider switching if it actually made sense, but there was no real benefit and I wasn't going to pay more for something that didn't add value. He kept pushing anyway and even tried to downplay my current setup like it was useless just to sell his system. Then today, another rep from the same company came back, ignored my "No Soliciting" sign AND my doorbell cover, and tried to say I was "interested" last time but just concerned about the price, which is not true at all. I clearly said no. The whole experience felt really pushy and invasive. I would not recommend dealing with them.

This company has suckered me into purchasing a new panel by selling me sensors that do not work…read morewith my original panel. The cost to me is over $350. They will not let me out of my contract after the purchase, after the sensors began failing. Tamper alarms in the middle of the night are no fun. I had to remove the sensors altogether to stop the false alarms. A no-contract company would be better for most people.

Look else where!!! I'm so not happy with their customer service when I call in. It takes forever to…read morespeak with a live person. Then when you do finally get through the phone maze of number prompts, the representatives really don't listen to your issue. All they want to try to do is troubleshoot. Which i get if it was the first time calling in for an issue. But when it's the same issue and a customer is requesting for a technician to come out. Don't go 5 rounds with them!

Our experience with Vivint, Inc. has devolved into an absolute nightmare, leaving us feeling…read morecompletely held hostage by a company that prioritizes billing over customer service or contractual obligations. We strongly advise anyone considering Vivint to look elsewhere - for your own peace of mind, and your wallet. The issues began on May 19, 2025, when a technician visited our home to simply change the batteries in an upstairs motion detector. As a 50+ year old who experiences dizziness on ladders, I had proactively called Vivint to confirm that this service, including the technician's fees, would be covered by the Maintenance/Protection Plan we have been diligently paying for since March 2021, and again since July 7, 2023. We were assured it would be. Imagine our shock when our next bill arrived a month later, showing that the Protection Plan did not cover the visit. To add insult to injury, the bill included an alleged "upgrade" to our Vivint Security system, for which we were charged over $300.00. This was a complete fabrication; no such upgrade was installed, nor was it ever discussed or authorized. On May 30th, we called again, attempting to resolve this exorbitant and fraudulent charge. During this call, we also informed Vivint that, effective July 1st, we would no longer be residing at the property. We fully expected a straightforward cancellation process. What followed was a relentless and futile battle for resolution. We called the Vivint Loyalty department twice on June 16th, and then the Vivint Cancellation Department on June 20th. Each call was met with unhelpful responses, runarounds, and a complete lack of accountability. To this present date, we are still allegedly being covered by Vivint, even though none of us are living in the household, and the system is no longer functioning. We are being billed for a service we cannot use, at a property we no longer occupy, all while being ignored by every department we attempt to contact. Vivint, Inc. has demonstrated a shocking disregard for their customers, their own service agreements, and basic ethical business practices. We have been trapped in an infuriating cycle since before May 2025, and now more than ever, we feel completely abandoned and unable to receive any assistance. In good conscience, we are not, nor will we ever, recommend Vivint, Inc. to anyone - not to our family, acquaintances, friends, neighbors, or even complete strangers. Save yourself the immense frustration and financial burden; choose a security company that actually values its customers and provides the service it promises.

Horrible horrible! I wouldn't recommend this company EVER. From day one, it seemed good. Great…read moreinstaller, communication seemed good. That was the lie. We started having issues. Multiple times we had service people here, and they wanted to charge us each and every time. Then we made the mistake of ordering more cameras. Then the real troubles began, serv8xe call after service call. Customer support then out of the blue said, "oh you're going to need another panel to support your cameras". We got another, panel, whoxh means we now have two accounts we have to pay for, so we're now up to over $150 plus on the monthly. Did I mention we had to upgrade some equipment? Many years of being a customer, many serive calls, and much money spent, well over $6,000. We've been here in our new house, since 2022. Last straw, tonight our fire alarms went off and vivint contacted us through the panel, and didnt resolve anything. First department arrived and found nothing. In the meantime, we continued to pull alarms down, pulled batteries, other sensors. Still they kept going off until I pulled down Vivint sensors(large conical looking ones). The panel had been pulled off the wall and reset multiple times. We then kept calling and they said it wasn't their equipment. Thr end, "you need to upgrade all your equipment." We hung up. Do not ever use this company.

They replaced the battery two months ago, and then it died again. The earliest they could come out was 5 days (for a 5-minute service call). We switched in Irvine and are now looking elsewhere in Big Bear Lake. We have been with Vivint for 20 years at our Big Bear Lake home and even longer at our Irvine home. Unfortunately, customer service has significantly declined, and prices have continued to rise since Vivint acquired All Protection Alarm. They replaced our battery two months ago, but it has died again. The earliest they could send a technician was in five days, even for a service call that would only take five minutes. We have already switched to a different provider in Irvine and are now looking for alternatives in Big Bear Lake.
