We celebrated 50th birthday of my girlfriends dad, first of all they have best musicians in the valley, food and service was also on top. The atmosphere was great and we had a lot of fun, dancing, singing and eating delicious Russian food. All and all this is one of the best Russian restaurants in LA in my opinion. My fiancé and I went (or attempted to go) to Premier last night for their Christmas Eve celebration. My fiancé is Russian and we were looking forward to a night of traditional Russian celebration in light of the holiday. Upon checking in with the hostess, the hostess turned to me and my fiancé (both of us are men), asking where was our "woman." We said it was just us, and the hostess then told us that this is a "family restaurant." The message was clear: we were not welcome, so we left. We frequent Russian restaurants across the US, including on holidays, and have never been treated this way. If this is how Premier chooses to conduct their business, that is their choice. But I'm writing this review for others who may be interested in going to Premier. That $$$$ pre-fixe menu is money going straight into the hands of bigots. Merry Christmas, Premier. Wow. Absolutely the worst experience at a Russian restaurant ever. Management should be embarrassed. We were there a week ago for a birthday celebration and I don't even know where to begin, but let's try: 1) Service was horrendous. The servers were doing us a favor by even being there. You have to ask for a clean plate. You have to ask for a dessert plate when cake comes out. They bring food to one side of the table and not the other. They actually came over to our side of the table, grabbed a bottle of vodka, and moved it to the other side. Are you kidding me? Go get another bottle. 2) There wasn't enough food! I've never seen guests leave hungry from a Russian restaurant. How is that even possible? Not only was there not enough food on the table, but they would bring a portion for 5 people and leave it on one side of a table seating 20 people. The other side never ever saw half the food that came and the rest of us chopped up tiny portions. 3) The place smelled like charcoal. They started to light charcoal for hookahs at the bar area smelling up the entire restaurant. Just disgusting when you're trying to eat. 4) $150 a head just to go pick up fast food after leaving? I'm not even going to comment on the food quality, I honestly can't because there wasn't enough for me to try everything. But to charge $150 a guest and not have enough for everyone is insane. For those that know Russian restaurants, you know there are ALWAYS leftovers. You probably go home with 3 days of leftover appetizers and kabob. They gave us a few slices of cake that were leftover. Unreal. This was an embarrassing experience for this restaurant. I celebrated my birthday here four years ago and it was amazing. Food was good, entertainment was great. These days it's absolutely horrific. I highly encourage everyone to find a different Russian restaurant to host your big event at. You will only be embarrassed hosting such an event. read more

This is probably the worst restaurant that I have been to. The place is hidden and hard to find, very dark and dull colors. We went there for a welcome baby and will probably never go there ever again. The food was not good, the service sucked. I love the singer but was not appropriate for the event. DJ never put happy songs, they were all Russian songs. The photographer was attacking my baby. She was scared of him and he kept going after her to take a picture. It is 2:28 am and we just got home from Premier Restaurant where my oldest sister celebrated her 18th birthday :) We were there for the second time and as always we received exceptional services from very attentive servers and always during our celebration we were entertained by live music and live performances . Today Premier was packed with 5 different birthdays and even a weeding but everyone was respectful to each other . Yes the place was packed and it didn't not let our servers to slow down , they were constantly filling up or glasses and changing plates . The food is good too if you are in mood in getting some Russian cuisine . I believe my sister celebrated 4 or more time her birthday in this restaurant because she likes to have fun and dance with her best friends. The only reason my rating is not perfect is because I felt like I was sitting in the club where the music is so loud that you simply couldn't talk to each other . Now I know most of you have never stepped foot into the hoopla known as the Russian Restaurant Birthday. At this point I can't tell whether that's a blessing or a misfortune. I like Premier though, so I'll go with the latter. But before I review this place, I'll be happy to explain that a Russian Restaurant Birthday generally means the following: - Birthday girl/boy invites all his/her closest friends, family, acquaintances, classmates, the girls you haven't seen in months but who invited you to THEIR birthdays, that guy who lives two houses down that they feel obligated to say hello to, etc... - Birthday girl/boy dishes out $75-80 a head - Every Russian restaurant includes a long, medieval-dining style table with about 6 courses of food. Every time you return to your seat after a quick dance the waiter has mysteriously taken away the pickled mushrooms only to replace it with non-pickled mushrooms. - Dancing is not optional With that said, Premier is a solid Russian restaurant that provides better than average food, festive entertainment, bad Russian music, and a pregnant singer. If I could give it less than one star I would totally do it. Worst customer service ever!! I did a reservation online for my best friend's Birthday party. When we got there the lady didn't let us get in was really rude. Said that there is a privet party and pushed us outside . She hardly talked english and asked me to stand outside the venue. She was ignoring what I said, and said that I'm lying about my reservation. I showed her the email conformation from her restaurant and she said that it's not valid. And said that If I want to reserve a spot there I need to do it over the phone. So when I asked her why do they have this option online she got mad!! let me start by saying I hardly ever feel the need to give a business a poor yelp review but this isn't the case with Premier. A party of 12 came for my moms birthday and I don't know where to start. First of all, as many people said before, there's very little food. If you're really Russian you know how we enjoy our food in bigger portions, but this was slices of ahi tuna (which isn't even russian). Point being- if I'm coming to a Russian restaurant, I expect Russian food. I did not pay $100 per person to be served slices of cold cuts and fish. The worst part about this experience was the DJ. I came up to the DJ set at about 9pm asking for a specific song for my mom and to simply say happy birthday, as the DJ was saying happy birthday to every other party at least 5 times. An hour passed by and there was still no simple "happy birthday" for my mom and of course again, more songs and birthday wishes for other parties. At around 10pm we confront the DJ set again and remind them that I put that request in an hour ago. Still nothing hours later. Finally, my own mom had to go up to them and request the song herself and even left a generous tip. STILL NOTHING!! It honestly blows my mind how we literally paid AT LEAST 2,000 dollars and they simply couldn't even play one song and say happy birthday, while they were doing multiple songs and wishes for every other party. I honestly don't know what kind of business this is, but please just save your money and go somewhere else. This was an experience I will never forget and such an honest waste of time and money. Ain't no party like a Russian party cause a Russian party don't stop. But seriously. I discovered that the secret to surviving a night of shots every 10 minutes is to stuff yourself silly with amazing Russian food. It's a banquet hall, so once you arrive, the entire table is COVERED in an array of appetizers- caviar blinis, seared tuna, smoked fish, pâté, salads, meats and cheeses, caprese, perogies, and many others I can't remember. As cold appetizers are finished, the staff brings out the hot appetizers, then eventually hot entrees like steak and potatoes, shrimp alfredo, etc. I'm no expert on Russian food, but we were all very happy with our meal. There's live music and dancing which makes it so much more fun and entertaining. And yes, the music is mostly Russian, but does it really matter? I think it makes this place that much more unique and different. There is valet parking, but street and lot parking is easy to find and close by. Also, the bar area is sleek and fancy, and the bathrooms, while small, are very clean. The only thing I wish was different was that the tables were a bit bigger. There was so much food that things got a little cramped. I had a great time here and would love to come back! read more

I"ve been to the restaurant numerous times as a guest and designed parties for some clients, so i've seen all sides of this place, before-after and everything in between. I've had the most pleasant experience working with the owners and the staff; fun, respectful, enthusiastic and caring people. They always make sure that your celebration is a true success. Most people don't get to see the kitchen and the staff interaction, i did, and they looked like a family, you can see how much they care for each other, how much love they put into simple things as setting a table, these people enjoy what they do, and it translates to the client. Food is wonderful, and it's easy to work with their menu, they always want to accommodate your needs and taste. I've recently hosted my husband's birthday party, and one thing i can say : "Amazing!" we had a small show prepared for him, and the owners along with the band were more than helpful, i could not have even imagined for it to go as well as it did, and it created a life long memory. Came here for a baby birthday party, and boy, what a party with eating, drinking and dancing! It was more of a celebration for the adults. Love the live music (can't understand Russian but was still entertaining) and the dance floor area. The food was excellent and kept coming. I love the various appetizers and the meat, especially a beef/barley dish, is so flavorful and moist. There was even a photographer who I think was hired by the restaurant. Plenty of parking in the lot but I believe they do valet parking at times as well. read more

This is by far the best Russian restaurant in town! First of all the food is AMAZING!!! Everything tastes absolutely delicious. The amount of food they give you is unbelievable. It's not possible to taste everything because there's so much. (Always have leftovers for the next few days). The band is exceptional! They sing great songs and have incredible voices. We were planned to stop only for a cocktail as it was just Thursday night, but we ended up staying there until 2:00am. OMG! Hookahs were made to perfection. Highly recommended to try their F-Signutare Hookahs. I'm a big fan of Hookahs. And, I regularly travel around the world. Premier is staple restaurant in the Russian speaking community and has maintained its excellent reputation over the years. The food is fantastic and always in abundance. The music is lively, occasion appropriate and guarantees a great time. The staff is in a league of their own. Compliments to Sam, the owner, for running a tight ship. My friends regularly come for New Years Eve and celebrate all their joyous occasions here. Last Saturday we gathered to celebrate a friend's birthday and all had such a great time that two more parties were booked immediately after. We were there on Saturday for Birthday celebration. All I can say that the food is horrible. Everything is much too salty and garlicky. It seems like they wanted to make it that way so nobody would detest not fresh products. Pickled herring was so dry and old that it would stuck in your teeth. The red caviar had this specific smell of 2 weeks old caviar from the fridge. The meet plates (hot portions) were way too salty. The salad with eel had almost no eel in it. The price per person is $80.00 not including alcohol. There are a lot of places in LA that will charge you less, serve you better food and better entertainment. Extra saying about service: The servers were very rude. While trying to clean the tables, they didn't pay attention to any guest heads, so they bumped everybody with the plates on the heads. I tried to point it out, but nobody even made an attempt to be polite and just paid no attention. Music: Typical Russian () music. My husband and I just got back from our visit to Premier. It was our very first time at this place, and the only reason we decided to check it out was because we were in the process of deciding on a place to do our wedding party. Being from the former USSR and having lived in LA for over 30 years, I have been in many Russian restaurants in the past. I have a good idea what to expect, which made me feel like I was prepared for this experience. We walked in and couldn't find a hostess for a while, there was no one to talk to by the door. Eventually, I turned to a guard (a heavy set African American male sitting at the bar and he pointed to the owner. Then he actually went and got the owner to come out and speak to us. I tried to explain that we were there to taste some food and check the place out in case we decide to do our party there. The music was SO loud, that he could barely understand what I was telling him. After confirming that we wanted to eat something he gave us a small table in the corner, right next to other folks already sitting there. He never came back to see how we enjoyed the place or to make sure we were taken care of. I guess he doesn't need extra business. We decided to order three different dishes that we thought might be ordered by our guests, if we were to bring them there for the wedding. We decided on Chicken Blinis, Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Kiev plus we asked for a bottle of mineral water. Although food came pretty quickly, we never got any water and had to ask again, after which we got one glass of water...and had to ask for anther. Meanwhile, they squeezed another party in right next to us that had 2 people too many, so they were almost on top of us. All this time the live band kept playing a variety of different euro-pop kinda songs, which would be pretty cool except that it was SO loud that we couldn't hear a word we were saying to each other. Within just a few minutes our ears were totally numb and deaf and our voices cracking. During the break there was a show, consisting of three female dancers dancing a variety of different dances ranging from "Burlesque" to "Gypsy" to "Hebrew" to "Latin" to "Samba" and even "Belly dancing". Being professional dancers/dance instructors, we both thought it was all sub par. LA, as the entertainment capital, has so many great talented dancers, that it is simply a shame to have such marginal entertainment in this city. Although our food was served very quickly, Chicken Kiev was pretty tasteless and mashed potatoes totally cold. Beef Stroganoff was a bit better, but there was mostly mushrooms with sauce and barely any beef. Chicken blini were really dry (thanks God for sour cream). My husband both looked at each other with disappointment and agreed that even Traktir makes much better food for much better price. When we asked for a check, we were charged $105 which included a bottle of mineral water we never got and also 15% gratuity. We asked the waitress to make a correction ($10), and she insisted that we got the water. After reluctantly making a correction (or so we thought), the bill came to $99. At that time my husband didn't even want to continue the conversation and seem petty, so we paid and left. read more
