Charming ambiance.

Le Petit is a little dream. I love everything about this place. The charming ambiance, the graceful service, and yes, most of all, the delicious food! The fish is always cooked properly. Their sauces do the French proud. Their selection is varied, fresh, and beautifully presented. We like to split everything when we go there, so we can enjoy more menu items. Last night we tried: the Goat Cheese Salad, which has a nice crunchy coated piece of soft cheese on a perfectly dressed salad; the Porcini Mushroom Ravioli (I believe it might have been the most delicious I've ever had and I've had a lot of Ravioli--and recently visited Italy--don't hate me Italian relatives); the Trout Almandine special (again, perfect); and for dessert a soufflé with vanilla bean sauce you're tempted to drink from the cup. And to top off a perfect meal, we had a pear dessert wine that was delicate, aromatic, and refreshing. Oh how I wish they were in Claremont! But Le Petit is worth the drive!

A very cute French restaurant and the food is so good! Love the escargot and lamb chops. Ask for some more bread and dip it in the oil from the escargot, it's so good! The French onion soup is so good too!! Make sure to make room dessert, especially the chocolate soufflé. It takes time so make sure to order ahead Corkage is $25. All the servers are so nice! And they take reservations.

My husband and I had the most magnificent experience at Le Petit on a Sunday when they usually don't open. It was a pre-fix menu with incredibly delicious dishes. My husband had the burgundy omelette, lobster bisque and the tiramisu...absolutely lovely. I had the duck pate, merguez and eggs and a delicious sorbet. The service was superb and the food was equally spectacular. Do not pass on this restaurant! We're going tonight.

Perfect place for a date night, the servers where amazing and helped us out with recommendations and really attentive. All the food was amazing and can't wait to try more.

I had an accidental pleasure of walking into this restaurant and having the best experience. First, let me start off by saying that I've been on a hunt for crème brûlée for over a year now and I was at a point of just giving up really. The ambience is very inviting, I knew as soon as I sat down. I was really feeling the vibe inside the restaurant. I had no idea what to expect, but I want to definitely give a special shout out to Lauren my waitress/hostess for the evening as she was completely amazing and gave the experience a very top notch high level service with a splash of VIP treatment, and I was thoroughly impressed with how she really came through for me and making my birthday so special with having a traditional setting of the crème brûlée, toasted and torched in front of me for my viewing pleasure. The icing on the cake was when the whole restaurant started singing to me whom I am a complete stranger to all these people and to my surprise, even though I'm super introverted, and don't like any attention on me, I felt very valued in the moment. I also have to say that the owner of the restaurant Jay is completely humble and makes you feel like you're eating at home. Definitely a place for you all to check out and I know that I'm coming back because I took a look at the menu and there's several items on there that I have to try to next time. Though I did have a couple of their famous dishes. I don't have any pictures of because my whole thing for the night was crème brûlée so I'm posting that here for you guys to see. Thank you, Le Petit for making my birthday is so special

Had a wonderful birthday dinner here! We brought a bottle of wine to go with our delicious meal. Corkage fee was $25 (not bad at all!!!). For apps we ordered the escargot, tartar de bouef, and lobster bisque. Main course was softshell crab (a special) and branzino. For dessert delicious chocolate and grand Marnier Soufflé. Everything was well paced, great service and a lovely setting. We look forward to coming back! Valley was $14 cash only but there are meters if you can find one!

Came here for my birthday and it was pretty good! Honestly, the highlight was the fresh bread that they gave for free with their sides. My mom got the great lobster deal and it was so yummy with the melted butter and potatoes. My duck was super yummy but I don't think I enjoy tangerine flavor in my savory, but that's my preference. But I ate the whole duck and it was crispy! My dad got the lamb and he wasn't really a fan, but I enjoyed it because it had some skin that made it softer. I also liked the couscous. We also liked the soufflé!

A really cute quaint restaurant. We sat outside which was nice. The food was very good and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. $$-$$$ Service was very prompt and they checked on us throughout the evening. We never felt rushed. There is valet parking as well as street parking. There was no wait to be seated. The whole atmosphere was a really nice vibe and I look forward to going back one day. Wonderful dining experience.

We had the pleasure of dining with our family, a party of 12, last month. Everyone was extremely pleased with our choice of Le Petit Restaurant. The room was warm and cozy and our server was outstanding. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and available. Despite being a large party, we were well taken care of. The food was excellent. I tried to get my grandchildren to try the frog legs and escargot without success, but we did try the duck mouse. It was flavorful and came with jams, nuts and little gherkins. My entree was the raviole which was in a wonderful gravy. My daughter had the duck that she liked. I tried it and I can see why. One of the highlights of the evening was a round of souffle that the grandchildren adored. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. Next time we are in LA we'll be back.

lobster bisque arrived half full with no lobster ‍

Just ordered take out from here and I bought lobster bisque for $20 and it arrived half full- only a few spoonfuls with no lobster just broth. Completely ridiculous and disappointing because I have high expectations for a place like this. (see picture)

Creme Brulee ($16) - standard dish; would be nice to see a fruit garnish though I felt that the overall dining experience was good, would be nice have the server crumb the table before dessert service. Please bring back the Profiteroles on the dessert menu; I was looking forward to trying that but got disappointed to hear that the chef removed it.

So very disappointing…read more.. Brought my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner, and I'm genuinely disappointed. Reminded me why I leave reviews. Currently up at 5am with stomach discomfort from this meal. Let's start with the food: Appetizers: French Onion Soup - 2/10 (GF rating 7/10) I've had this before and didn't care for it--tastes like watery broth with onion, soggy croutons, and cheese. For ~$25, not worth it. Girlfriend thought it was one of the better ones she's had, mainly for texture. Escargot - 2/10 (GF rating 4/10) Not my thing, but the sauce was weak. I've had better at Le Bouchon in Chicago. Baguette was fine but underwhelming. Girlfriend said it was okay, biggest escargot she's had, but also lacking flavor. Serving in shells was nice. Crab cake - 1/10 (GF rating 1/10) Just bad. Rubbery texture, hard to cut, not the usual flaky crab cake. Inside lacked flavor. Sauce was good, dill helped slightly. For ~$28 for one, avoid completely. Mains: Steak frites - 2.5/10 (GF rating 3/10) Cooked medium. Meat quality was bad--very chewy. Ate one piece. GF didn't like it either. Sauce was herby and buttery but underwhelming. Fries were good, large portion, no proper sauce pairing. Big Mec 4/10 (GF rating: 2/10) Basically a burger with homemade A1 sauce. Not asked for temp; came medium, which doesn't work for thin patties. Chewy and forgettable. Wouldn't improve much even cooked better. Sauce was decent for fries (which were good). GF said it tasted like A1. Better off getting a Big Mac from McDonalds and saving money. Dessert (WOW, IN A GOOD WAY) Chocolate soufflé - 7.5/10 (GF rating 10/10) Really good. GF would come back just for this. Great crust, gelato, and chocolate sauce. Slightly spongey inside for me, but still very good. Crème Brûlée - 8.5/10 (GF rating 6/10) Excellent. Crunchy top, very creamy base. GF just doesn't like this dessert in general. Highly recommend. BIRTHDAY COOKIES - 6.5/10 It was my gfs birthday and we were charged $6 for cookies we didn't order. Decent cookies, slightly salty. Charging for this is ridiculous--should be complimentary, especially after ~$250+. Service - 7/10 Started slow, waited a while to order while others were checked on first. After ordering, service improved a lot: attentive, refills, clearing dishes, friendly staff. Ambiance Quaint, not loud, small seating area. Easy to talk. Outdoor seating available but near a busy road. Price Overpriced. Apps ~$26, mains ~$42, drinks expensive. Bill was ~$260 before tip. Would not come back unless just for dessert.

The chicken liver mousse was exceptional: impossibly smooth, deeply flavorful, and perfectly balanced by the toasted bread and fresh chives. The steak frites was cooked beautifully and paired with a peppercorn sauce that was rich, bold, and worthy of being soaked up with every last fry. The meal finished on a high note with the chocolate soufflé--perfectly risen, intensely chocolatey, and absolutely worth the wait. Beyond the food, the atmosphere captures the charm of a true Parisian bistro. The service was warm, attentive, and professional throughout. The beets and nuts were nice but pretty overwhelmed by the horseradish, even when I tried to avoid getting any of it on my fork. And I'm not a person who hates horseradish, by any means. I would try the Boston lettuce salad next time. Steak frites - the fries were evenly crisp (fried in clarified butter), the herb butter sauce was fresh and light, the steak was a nice medium to medium-rare, even on a piece this small. I would definitely get this again. I'm not sure what the portion difference is between the prix and the regular, but this felt well worth the price we paid as part of the prix fixe. Big Mec Burger - The burger, while cooked nicely medium rare, was a difficult knife and fork burger, due to it sitting in a pool of demi glace. The flavors of the burger were nice, but they might get a little taken over by the sauce. It is an incredibly expensive burger, and I question it's worth. Chocolate mousse - topped with cacao nibs, dark chocolate shavings and hazelnuts. A very rich milk chocolate flavor and a much stretchier almost pudding like texture than I have encountered in a mousse before. Honestly not my favorite dish. I would try the puff pastry option next time! We also got: French onion soup - big pieces of onion in here, that they maybe did not cut the entire bottom of the onion off of. Peppery, but not overly so. It was flavorful with a very satisfying amount of cheese, baked perfectly on the top. Felt like it could have used one more element....salt? Or an herb? It was good but we didn't find it outstanding, especially for the price. Overall, only the prix lunch deal (12-4 M-F) felt worth the price. I'd definitely come back here for that. We were interested in a couple of other menu items that we didn't try, so we'll likely be back someday. I've had better versions of everything we ordered at a better price elsewhere in town, tho. We ate in the bar portion of the restaurant. Service was helpful, friendly and leisurely. Probably a place where you'll have to flag your waiter down, as they're trying to let you enjoy your meal unhurried and uninterrupted. Bathrooms were clean and well appointed. Patio area was closed due to rain when we dined but it looks like a nice space with plenty of shade.
