I love the food here. It.'s one of my favorites! I usually order the chicken kabob, the Fattoush salad, the eggplant dolmas with yogurt and the roasted garlic potatoes, but they do have other great mediterranean dishes to order. I love all of these flavors together and the service is always friendly, however because their kitchen is small, your order may be a bit delayed , but I don't mind too much because I love the servers and the food, if you're in a hurry though, go early (5:00pm) and plan on a relaxed drink because of that small kitchen and homemade dishes the food prep can be delayed. Mantee's is a smaller restaurant, however, the atmosphere is very nice with inside and outside patio dining. If I bring my pup, the patio dining is perfect. Overall good experience. Service was excellent and consistent the whole way through. Outdoor seating is a must, ambiance is great. Was very satisfied with the cold appetizers, specifically the hummus and the tabbouleh salad. The kebab plate was a bit underwhelming. Rice with vermicelli was excellent, just personally prefer long-grain basmati rice for this style of entree. The kebab didn't hold together well, it would break apart easily when cutting into it, outside could've been grilled better, the meat inside though was cooked good and was seasoned well, would've expected a bit more flavor from it. My spouse and I haven't been there for a very long time, and we were surprised to find that it still exists after so many years. That says a lot about a business nowadays. We decided to go there on a rainy Tuesday evening for dinner. Of course, as we expected,d it wasn't very busy. That is what we actually liked. I think his name is Michael, and he showed us the next room, which also leads to the beautiful patio. That room was compared to the first room, nice and warm and cozy, and nobody else was sitting there. It was nicely decorated,d and we had the view out to the patio with their rope lights on. We liked it indeed. Michael, our server, whom I liked right away, because he was so polite and approachable,e but you could also tell he was professional, asked us what we would like to drink. After receiving our drinks and going through our menus, we ordered our dishes. Meanwhile, we received complimentary flat bread and chips, and mohammana. My spouse liked it very much. To me, it was a bit too foreign tasting. But it doesn't mean it was bad. My spouse ordered Mantee " traditional"; he always wanted to try it, and I ordered Shish Kebab. The Mantee, he let me taste it. I am sort of a picky eater, especially with foods that are foreign to me. I am more familiar with German, Austrian, and Italian foods. I would have liked it, but for my taste, there was too much of that sauce on it. But, as I said. I am not familiar with this dish. So, who am I to judge it? My spouse, on the other hand, who is familiar with Middle Eastern foods, wasn't too crazy about it. I found it okay. My dish, in comparison, was very good. The meat was cooked to perfection. I love that kind of rice. What I also appreciated was that the portion wasn't that typical exaggerated, like in most restaurants. It was a normal portion for a normal eating human being. Not someone who seems like they're close to starvation or is in need of a doggy bag. Solid 4 star Armenian/Lebanese restaurant in Studio City. LOVED their back patio which has a garden vibe to it with the soothing sounds of a waterfall. Our group of four enjoyed: 1. Mantee appetizer w/ meat (they were out of the veggie one). Different than the one my Armenian Grandma used to make. Hers was in a clear, garlicky broth -- this one is in a creamy yogurt sauce. 2. Chicken Kebobs w/ rice and a large Anaheim Pepper 3. Filet Mignon Kebob w/ same sides. Also shared the Sarma and Eggplant Baba which we dipped in the pita bread. Wish the pita was warm or toasted as it was the only thing we didn't enjoy. The service was attentive and the patio is dog friendly which is one of the reasons why we came. The labneh was creamy and the okra was especially delicious. My only complaint was that the Armenian salad was overly vinegary and the cucumbers were too prevalent. I was invited to have lunch at this intimate restaurant in Studio City the other day and was amazed by the cuisine. This small but cute establishment specializes in Armenian and Lebanese dishes. This place is great for a date as well as a gathering of friends, the atmosphere is perfect for both. The only downside is the parking, there are only limited spaces in the back, so your best bet is to find street parking, a minor price to pay for the delicious food served. Whenever I go here I order two appetizers; the traditional mantee and the queen's delight. They don't look too big at first glance but they fill me up and I even take some home as leftovers! Sometimes the traditional mantee can be a bit harder than I prefer, like it has been cooked too long or on too high of heat, but it is still tasty. My parents love this restaurant. They have been regulars for years Seating is outside and it was a little chilly summer evening. The bread or cracker that they give when you arrive comes with an oil dip, not sure what is in it. I didn't care for either. I ordered a salad and was told what would come in it and there was just a taste that really made it something I didn't care for. Come to find out it was mint. We had visited Mantee 15 years ago before it even had a license to serve alcohol. My daughter who was visiting from Texas wanted Mediterranean food at an "upscale" restaurant. I happened to remember Mantee and we booked a reservation. When we showed up, the front indoor restaurant, which is quite compact, was totally empty. I was really surprised and it did not match my memory at all. However, we were lead to the back patio and it was 100% different on the patio. It was packed. The patio space is VERY charming with nice lights hung throughout. The menu is fabulous and the food did not disappoint. The service was good as well. At some point, an adjacent business thought it was a good idea to start up some construction work with a large industrial saw that was very loud. The guy at the table next to us went over to the neighboring business and asked them to stop, which in a small miracle they did. This last part is not a knock in Mantee because any outdoor patio is subject to the vagaries of noise. It was interesting that a diner had to go next door and the Mantee staff did not do this themselves. read more

Mantee is truly a hidden gem! The front of the restaurant when we walked in was pretty empty, but we quickly realized you have to walk through it to get to the beautiful outdoor patio. The setting outside is just lovely. It's right next door to Gray Tavern, which also has an outdoor patio so the scene is very lively. There are lots of heaters, so you won't be cold on the patio. We ordered the Armenian salad, lentil pilaf, falafel, mantee veggie, sue berag, spicy potato, and kafta kebab plate for four people. When we sat down, you are immediately given a basket of pita and crisp thin bread with some sort of a sesame dipping sauce. The appetizers are pretty small plates, but the Armenian salad was absolutely delicious and plenty to share! Honestly, everything we ordered tasted incredible. I would DEFINITELY come back and know that anything you order here is going to be good. However my one issue is that we ended up having a 2.5 hour dinner because our food came out so slowly and the waitstaff wasn't super attentive. We had to continuously flag people down to order, get more water and the check at the end. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a nice night out, just make sure you aren't in a rush. This is one of my family favorite spots! It's a very casual hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Studio City, but the food is amazing. We dine here regularly, and everything on the menu is great. From the appetizers, my top picks are the eggplant dolma, hot feta, spicy potatoes, and fattoush salad. But the real standout for me is the mantee. It's perfectly cooked with a slight crunch, which sets it apart from other places, and it pairs so well with the yogurt topping. The bbq is good too but I wouldn't come here for that particularly. The service we got at this place was unmatched. The recommendations and accommodations he made for our group of 15 was amazing! We enjoyed the mantee, the dough is freshly made not wonton ones and the meal was fresh and delicious. There was a cherry kebab dish that wasn't my personal fav but others in our group enjoyed. The hummus with soujoukh was yum, the suboreg yum, the other kebabs yum yum, the wine we got was nicely paired with our meal - ill double check the name and post it here. There weren't many options for wine from what i recall tho, we got the red which was great. I def wouldn't sit indoors tho, kinda tight and uncomfortable seeming - so glad we were outside. It used to be shareable before and we would get few dishes and share but now I don't think it's possible. Seems like the same issue everywhere you go nowdays. Small portions, high prices. Loveddd the outdoor vibe of the place- both the design of the entrance and the seating in the back. The pine nuts on the Kebbe Naye are an EXCELLENT touch- I make mine the same exact way! The original mantee was just delicious and perfectly balanced. The hummus and motabal were absolute perfection and even though the sarma falls apart, the grape leaves were definitely done right as they're not hard to chew (like most sarma leaves) and melt away. The hot feta was good as well, the fattoush was not my favorite, as I feel it lacked authentic Mediterranean flavor of the dressing. Service could've been a bit better as well, but overall it is a very delicious place and the price for all of this was only $126 including a sparkling water bottle. read more

We dined here years ago and it was a great experience and the food was delicious! HOWEVER, today it is was absolutely horrible. To start off it's the weirdest experience walking in to a bare room without a host/greeter. We were eventually seated and ordered. The motabal had a fermented, bitter taste - obviously very old. The waiter even knew that it was old and I'm sure many other people ordered it without realizing it's old bc they're not middle eastern. We ordered the lamb chops medium and it came extremely overcooked, like rubber. It was smothered with tomato sauce with no lamb flavor at all. Then we were recommended to order the kashkash kebab - a complete disaster. There was barely any meat and there must have been a pound of chopped tomatoes on it which were pretty much raw. The plate was just terrible. Overall, the presentation of the food is horrendous. And the quality is low. All to say - this place used to be good but it's not anymore. I really don't recommend dining here. There are SO MANY other middle eastern restaurants I'd recommend over this one. read more

We got there and there was very limited parking and had to go around from the back ally to the restaurant. They sat us in the terrace. Small area that's behind the restaurant. The service was good. Our waiter was helpful in giving us suggestions in what to order. We ordered the spicy potatoes, hot feta, tabouleh and fatoush salad to start with. We each ordered our mantee which comes in small dishes with their garlic yogurt. The service was a big slow but we were 7 people so the talking made time go by faster. All the appetizers came out at once. The hot feta was so delicious. We all enjoyed the spicy potatoes. The Mantee was good but a bit on the very dry side. Even with the yogurt on top the sides of the mantee that were crispy really stayed hard. But over all good spot. But again be aware that they only have their terrace open. read more

We've bought mantee dishes in multiple different Armenian restaurants and this has to be the tiniest SNACK SIZE that we've ever received!! Nail salons always tell me that my hands are small and yet the box was smaller than my hand!! Crazy!! Another issue was the Shish kebab / filet plate! It was $25 dollars and it mostly had two giant peppers and a super small portion of rice and meat! Sorry but who the heck wants two Giant peppers to take up half the plate???? Very much a Scam!!!! Manatee was a surprising find for me when I went yesterday. It had been recommended a few times and I was finally at the right place to try it out one afternoon. Walking in it didn't look much and there was nobody there to greet me, but eventually I was taken to the back patio that was lovely and service was fine the rest of the evening. No complaints. Every single item that keep was done pretty well or was great. The fatoush salad was very good. The acidity was perfect. The only real knock was that it has a lot of tortilla pieces in there making it less healthy, but they did taste great and they weren't your typical thin pieces. The crispy potatoes were cooked perfectly and had good seasoning but could have used a drizzle of some sauce. The Manatee was a delicious shoot off of ravioli. It wasn't life changing or anything but it was certainly a tasty alternative to the typical ravioli. It has a much better texture and shape than typical ravioli, so maybe it's not even fair to call it ravioli. The marinated feta was pretty good, but it's not like cheese is often done badly. This dish seems very popular here but it's skippable for a small party, I really only needed 1-2 bites max before it was too much cheesez. I also got the sweet and sour ground beef entree (not pictured ), it was quite good and the rice it came with was also excellent (and I'll not a big rice person) but portions of both were on the smaller side than typical Mediterranean meat and rice plates.
