The installation in 2020 was well done. It has worked perfectly until yesterday. Funny, I got a call from Bland last week informing me they were gone. I checked my emphasis report and it seems something has gone away. Rather than a smooth curve of energy production, the power production report was highly erratic with a porcupine like of spikes showing high and low energy. read more

I choose Bland to install a new air conditioning unit on a rental. The one being replaced worked but it was ond and I thought I would replace it off season to avoid having problems in the summer. The first morning they arrive three hours late. They continued to be late each day but usually 30 min to 1 hr. When they removed the old attic unit they didn't cover the carpet see attached photo. After installation the inspector caught that they hadn't adequately charged the new unit with refrigerant. I caught that they installed a drain line running uphill which would have been a problem. The first time it was used for cooling it didn't work. I called the 24 hour emergency line, they didn't answer the line and I was in Tennessee making it even more inconvenient. When I did contact them they came out and said the return existing duct was restricted which I told them I would fix it. Upon inspection I found virtually no restriction in the suspected area, the restriction was in their installation at the unit. See photo of sharp bend. Once again I just fixed it myself. A few weeks later it wouldn't work again this time they found a broken thermostat wire in the unit. It works now but it's only been a week so it's too early to know if it is going to continue. Fortunately I am a contractor and have the ability to fix problems myself instead of paying more money because of their poor installation. I didn't want to do it myself though and I didn't want to inconvenience my tenant as I have. I chose Bland because they installed my solar and did an outstanding job. I have since learned the company sold since then which may explain their change in performance. I definitely would not recommend Bland. read more

I highly recommend Bland Company! I recently hired them for my mother to redo her roof and they did an amazing job from start to finish! When I spoke with them on the phone, communication was always easy and clear. Their guys are punctual and kind and respectful! They also do very clean work! Requested 3 microinverters to be replaced, test 5 panels, and correct the array setup. Original installer did not do this correctly. Everything was taken care of in two hours. In two days the swap testing of panels to be completed. Hopefully only two panels to be replaced. Microinverters were warranted. Great service, fast and efficient. Texted them a while back to troubleshoot my Enphase Gateway not communicating and schedule technician. Love this place! The staff were great from start to the end. They are a perfect home grown business, I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a roof or solar. We had our roof replaced and the crew was courteous and friendly. Roof replacement is a messy job, however they made sure to thoroughly clean up each day. Bland was not even my original solar company, that company went out of business. Bland stepped in with no problem. Price and value is top notch, they even painted the roof vents to match the roof, I've seen other roofs in my neighborhood that don't have that. I have been trying to contact Bland to have my solar panels cleaned since I have lifetime cleaning in my contract. First off, I cannot get a live person to answer the phone or call me back. There is a text messaging service Bland uses; however, when I told them I wanted my panels cleaned, they told me they do not offer that service anymore and to contact a few companies. I reiterated that have lifetime cleaning and they told me they would have to look into it and they would get back to me. Well Bland it has been two months and nobody has gotten back to me. I even text a picture of my contract showing I have lifetime cleaning and all I got was crickets back. Sounds like a breach of contract and not honoring my contract. read more

Said he had everything in the van but was too busy to fix problem that I had to reschedule and pay another service. Call to come out and fix my AC which was still another week out so you pay all the money and no A/C 110° weather, do not trust the company is out to Rob customers. Bland did a minisplit install, and failed to adequately seal wall penetrations. On multiple occasions, Bland staff said they would come on a given day, then did not show up or provide advanced notice. They also didn't properly screw in air vents; two fell out and fortunately didn't hit anyone. read more

I've used them for a few years now and always had a good experience but since I used them exclusively I didn't really have a point of comparison. This time, however, my issue happened after hours, replacing a thermostat things went wrong and a part on my a/c burned out causing the whole a/c to stop working, and you can only call to place appointments by phone with Bland so I placed an appointment for this morning with some one whose webpage let me schedule appointments to avoid delays incase Bland was busy when I called the next morning. I won't name the company (since they didn't actually do work to review) but they quoted me 90 dollars to come out, 300 for the thermostat re-install, plus the costs of labor and part replacement for the actual repair I needed. That seemed unreasonably high to me so I just waited for Bland, they were able to get out just as fast as the other company had quoted me, replaced the thermostat, found and fixed the issue, including replace multiple parts, walked me through what I likely did wrong, how to prevent it in the future, did lots of tests to make sure everything was working, showed me how to use my fancy new thermostat's more complex features, disposed of my old thermostat... and only charged me 285. And, as always, the guy was super chill with my yappy dog (I love him, but he is) and rambunctious daughter. Again, my wife and I have never had anything but positive experiences with Bland since we bought our first home a little over 5 years ago, but this was the first time I could quantify it, final cost was almost half what I was expecting after the other local companies quote. Cheaper, friendly, and I've yet to have any issue with our a/c system (that wasn't self inflicted) since their initial work when we first moved in and the pre-home purchase home inspector had suggested we get it serviced because it was struggling to cool. My lesson today was just wait to call Bland for after hour issues in the future. read more

For shame for shame Bland. I recommended Bland Service to my elderly mom who is 85 years old. They were prompt in sending George out who diagnosed the issue. He said the scheduler would call my mom on Friday. No call from the scheduler. I called and spoke to the scheduler and she said that George would call my mom in a few minutes which he did. He scheduled on a Monday at 1 pm. George did not call nor did he show up. 5 pm my sister called him and he said he would be out about 6pm. Again, he did not show. At 8 pm he called and said I can come at 9:30 at night! My elderly mom told him too late. She has now called a different air company. My husband and I had never had any issues with Bland company. We picked them since my hubby used to ride bikes with the owner. I am so disappointed in myself for recommending them to my mother. Never again! read more

Bland company installed my solar in 1/2015, almost 6.5 years, so far no hiccup. I think I got all my money back and from now on I can use my solar for free. Yesterday, 8/09/21, while running a cable in attic, I thought I did something wrong and 10/34 solar panels stopped reporting. I called Bland Solar department and Lauren quickly arranged Jeff C. to come to my home today to fix the problems. Jeff C. is a very professional tech. We had Bland Solar install our Solar units. We are happy with the install of our solar panels from Bland Solar. We were told that they would monitor our Solar panel output, this is not true. For 3 months our Enphase IQ Gateway was disconnecting from our WIFI router, and we did not know. How we found out was we got an email from Enphase telling us that. Our issue is service after the fact. We called Bland Solar because we need the IQ Gateway moved closer to our WIFI router because the IQ Gateway keeps disconnecting from our router and the manufacture suggested we move the IQ Gateway closer to our router. We called and left a message with the service department asking for a quote to move the unit and why, along with our name and number. We got no reply. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. We bought a new house that has solar on it and getting it activated has been a nightmare. I have had to call and follow up for the past 3 months and never get calls back to follow up. 3 months and I'm still trying to get it activated. They honestly do not care to even help get it set up with SCE. We were going to have more panels added but definitely will not be doing that after the way we have been treated and ignored. I have asked for a supervisor or owner to contact me as the solar salesman absolutely did not want to help me. I doubt I will get that call without having to call them again. I was having problems with some of my residential solar components which resulted in my PG&E true up to increase in their favor when normally it is in my favor. Because of the equipment issues, the Bland Company came thru and made it right. I was only asking for a few months this last summer but Matt Juarez, the service manager, took the issue to the CEO and they are not only reimbursing me for the 2022 true up but are going back to the 2021 true up and reimbursing it as well. The system was installed four years and I've been exceptionally happy with it. Their willingness to make everything right is 'icing on the cake'. Our AC unit seemed to be working, but was not cooling the house. I called Bland this morning to get an appointment and initially the earliest they could see us was Thursday (today was Tuesday ) I was like ok, any chance we could get on a cancellation list? Amber was awesome she was able to work some magic and squeezed us in TODAY! Our technician Edgar arrived later this afternoon and was able to figure out our issue and fixed us up. We have cold air!! I know when things like this happen it's usually a few days or longer to get seen, because it is summer and they are busy. Bland Air Conditioning sold and installed our Mini Split a/c system four years ago. Today we were having trouble getting cool air from the system and a Tech from Bland came to service /repair it. After some time troubleshooting it the tech said there appears to be a leak in the low side of the system and it is sucking in air from somewhere. He said he couldnt continue today as he had elsewhere to go and the office would call to schedule an appointment. The woman soon called with a quote for $2,000 to find the leak and repair. There is only 15 feet of copper line running straight up the side of the house and poked thru the wall to the reciever box. Twenty dollars worth of copper line if they replaced it all completely. They installed the whole system 4 years ago for $2900 dollars. But the 6.00 dollar valve is covered by warranty if it ends up being that.....What a rip off price from these people--kick you while you're down! Don't do time and material anymore i guess--just throw out crazy prices if you need it bad enough I guess. read more
