I've been "seeing" Walter for over a year now, so I should probably let the world know! :) Walter is a miracle worker. I've brought him all sorts of shoe ills - messed up heels, shoes in need of a new sole, leather + patent leather flats that I somehow got covered in street gum, ew... even a pair of boots that had an elastic string pop of the of shoe itself. Whatever I throw at Walter, he throws right back at me, a few days later - and maybe since my shoes are all black leather, they've always been shined to boot! (pun intended.) His prices are reasonable, if not downright cheap. He also offers shoe advice, and never pushes additional fixes on me. With a recent pair of flats (the gummed ones!) I asked if I needed rubber taps put on... he noticed they hadn't been worn on the street and said, "If you only wear them in the office, then you should be fine." (score!) So it's no surprise that I've brought several friends here, and they've all been pleased with Walter's work as well. I was really impressed with these people's work. First of all, I had some very old boots, Timberlands that are 5 years old. I could not part with them. I was doing research and considered sending these boots all the way to California to get them repaired. But one week while I was in London, my fiance surprised me with my repaired and shiny new boots. They removed the salt stains and replaced the sole and heel as well. They look better than when they were new. The boots were old and in very poor condition. The suede leather had salt stains from wear from the snow. The zipper was coming undone. This place is so great, it deserves a fantastic review so others can benefit from the same excellent workmanship, fair prices, and short wait that were my experience. I noticed the shop on my way to a weekly one-hour appointment. When I found out my shoes (2 pairs I wear alternatively every day) could be heeled the next week while I sat through my appointment, I took them in. I, sadly, was not dropping off a pair of high end designer heels, but needed a new heel taps from all my walking on NYC pavement. When I asked if I could pick them up a few hours later, the man said absolutely and we confirmed an estimated time for my pick up. At $10 for a pair of heel tips, this is a steal in NYC (same price as a cobbler in suburban NJ). He also went above and beyond and repaired any scuffs that were no longer black. These people are miracle workers! A few months ago I bought a pair of spectacular (and expensive) shoes that after one wearing shredded my big toe. Brought a brand new pair of Cole Haans here that were scuffed badly the second day they were worn and Premium Cobbler made them look perfect. I was nervous with a scrape so big, they would have to change the color of the leather to hide it. But they were able to fix them without really changing the color. Miracle worker! I stopped in to get a pair of Louboutins (Pigalle 100mm) soled and toe box stretched. It was super last minute and the owner was able accommodate to get everything done within a few hours. My shoes came out PERFECTLY. I love that the soles they carry don't have logos on them. They fit so well now and I never want to take these shoes off! Very reasonable pricing for the service and I'll definitely be taking all of my shoes and leather goods here in the future. I could choose between two options for soles (shiny or rubber-grip) and the wonderful young man advised me on what might be best when I couldn't decide. This is the first time I have ever used Premium Cobbler (& also one of my first yelp reviews) but after reading all the positive reviews here thought I'd give it a try. My Clarks Somerset Cabaret Charm sandals were wonderful - such a nice tan leather peep toe - except they make a LOT of noise while walking, especially on hardwood or marble floors - so I took them in hoping they could do something to muffle the loud sound (clippety, clop, clop,clop) when I walk. I was thinking they would just put some kind of rubber taps on the outside of the heels but instead they somehow redid the entire heel - the kind young man there told me the heels were hollow & that's why they make so much noise - so I think he filled it with foam rubber and then matched the color of the outside to perfection. They were ready to pick up when he said they would be and I couldn't be happier with the end result. I am attaching a photo here so you can see the actual craftsmanship. Wow I am incredibly impressed with the transformation in my favorite pair of shoes! My cognac leather flats had taken a beating from walking in the salt-covered streets. Just as good as the other reviewers said. A tiny little messy place, but man, they know what they're doing. Soled my boots within a few hours, and the woman at the desk was extremely professional and helpful over the phone and in person. They also treated the leather on my boots as part of the package, which they say they always do as standard - result. Also got some other boots rebuilt from scratch. The guys there were so knowledgeable and helpful, and definitely didn't over-sell - they didn't want to do what was going to be an expensive job, but when we assured them that we wanted to go ahead, they clearly explained what was involved and did amazing work. i went here after a mediocre experience at another local shop near by, Drago's shoe repair and i have to say i am very pleased. they repaired both zippers on my suede boots and cut down the shaft on my boots and hemmed it neatly/seamlessly, all for $30. before coming here, i checked how much Drago was charging and they wanted $25 just to fix the zipper on one of the boots, so i said f that. bottom line is quito's appears to provide excellent value--good quality work for more than reasonable prices (especially for nyc rent). read more

I found this place online while researching for repair places on my Louboutin shoes in midtown. I saw they have better reviews than the high end places, so I decided to give it a try. My Loubs were in really bad shape - the fabric on the heel all scrapped down (and that is a mesh-type of fabric), soles and front of the shoe, all worn out. I just picked them up today from the Premium Cobbler and I'm in shock of how perfect they look!! I didn't think they could repair that fabric on the heel, but now you can't even tell that they were in such bad shape. I'm beyond happy with the work he's done and also the affordable price. I brought in two pairs of shoes: 1) a pair of Cole Haan suede pumps with a leather sole that was very water and salt damaged and 2) a pair of leather Franco Sarto ankle boots that had a very worn down heel - the leather was also very dry, cracked, scratched and scuffed. Premium Cobbler did an AMAZING job restoring both pairs of shoes. I had rubber soles added, heels replaced, the footbed for the pumps replaced, and cleaning for both - the shoes went from looking damaged and worn down to looking brand new!
