We found this place on a Google search and were so pleased with the Grant location that we went back to the Campbell (original location) on our last day! We probably enjoyed the Grant location more, however. It was less hectic than the Campbell location and the food seemed to be prepared with more care. Grant location: The duck was perfectly cooked and such a unique combination of ingredients. My seven-year-old loved it as well. There is a cute outdoor porch for sitting, which definitely added to the experience. The waiter was attentive, but not super friendly. But the good food made up for that. I've been here several times over the years, with the most recent visit being just yesterday, so I decided to go ahead and do a review. I really love the outside space for seating, although I've also eaten indoors. I'm not a huge pastry person yet I have to say that their pastries are consistently tasty so long as you are getting them fresh. Service can be variable just depending on how crowded they are, which is true of just about anywhere you go. I do wish they had more varied gluten-free and vegan options for my vegan friends, as everything they have that's gluten-free has eggs and/or dairy. I've had the fried chicken and toast, blueberry yogurt bowl, sweet potato hash, biscuits and gravy, and the cast iron duck confit. I've also shared a mimosa or two with friends. I'd say that the biscuits and gravy were a bit on the dry side, yet still tasty. There just wasn't enough gravy to help out with the dryness of the biscuits. Wonderful place to go have brunch with friends and family. They have an outdoor patio where you can take your furry babies. It's very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Coffee sucks. For some odd reason they don't serve hot vanilla lattes which is the bare minimum staple for brunch spots. I decided to try the caramel cold brew with sweet cream and it tasted very sour. My sisters also didn't like their coffees either. I'v eaten here a couple of times now...the first before they were officially opened!:) They have great concept and I love the decor, the team and the FOOD of course! It DOES make such a difference when the eggs are organic and farm raised, and though I love' pretty' and style, I love healthy too and as well as the option to indulge myself.. and they have it all. I've never been to Prep & Pastry. Never walked through the door, never sat at a table, couldn't tell you what the place smells like, but I had one of their donuts, which brought a tear to my eye. I've only cried four times in my life. I have four daughters, the birth of three of them, and this donut. This wasn't some dainty pastry. It had presence. Layers of buttery, flaky dough stacked like a carb monument to human achievement. The outside had that perfect crunch when you bite in, the kind that makes you stop mid-sentence and stare off like you just remembered an old love. And on top, a swirl of purple frosting that looked like something you'd see on a sunset over the desert. I don't know its flavor, but it didn't matter. It was just right. I've spent many years chasing good food, BBQ joints, diners, gas station biscuits that should've been left behind, but this donut? This donut made me question everything I thought I knew about breakfast. So yeah. Five stars. Haven't been there. But if the rest of the menu hits half as hard as that donut did, I might have to move closer. read more

We made a reservation for 1115 on Father's Day and there were people waiting but loads of empty tables. We came for the poutine but found out that the menu was changed two days before and that dish has been eliminated. Tried the duck confit and it was flavorless. The smoked salmon bene is deceptive because we expected lox but got cooked salmon (and a very small smattering of fried capers) that was smoked but it felt like a dinner fish. Fish like that for breakfast was not appealing. The shakshuka w added sausage was the favorite and the poblano Beni was good but lacked seasoning on the potatoes like the other bene. We had sausage and gravy for the table and the cure French toast. The S&G was flat hard biscuit not fluffy. The biggest complaint over all aside from the shakshuka was that everything was just warm at best. Food came out pretty quickly so the guess is a lot is pre made and just sits. The food was delicious, and we particularly enjoyed the Smoked Salmon Benedict and the Steak and Egg Sandwich. The smoked salmon was actually cooked and had a slightly sweet flavor, possibly from brown sugar, which was really tasty. However, the English muffin was undercooked and too doughy. As for the drinks, the Brunch Punch had a good flavor but was a little too sweet for my taste. The staff is friendly and attentive and there is patio dining as well as a more than ample sized dining room.
