My husband and I were about to depart for a vacation to Australia and could not pass up a dive among the Great Barrier Reef. Being new to diving I needed prescription lenses, only problem was we were very pressed on time. Our dive instructor simply said wait until you return from the trip and I will order you some. There was no way I was going to settle for that considering we were talking about the Barrier Reef. I did not care how much extra it was going to cost for a rush job I was going to find someone who could get my difficult prescription filled and shipped back to me in time. I located Prescription Dive Masks and they said they could do it. I was a tad reluctant hoping they would get the job done but I had to take a chance on someone. I also require a purge mask so I shipped my mask off so they could place my lenses into it for me. I am located in NC and the store is in CA, we had only days to work with. The mask was mailed out to CA and returned to me as promised arriving the day before we flew out to Australia. When the mask arrived at my home I rushed out to meet the mail carrier and quickly opened the box. I was hoping when I placed them on I could see well. If they were turned wrong, ever so slightly it would throw my vision off. My hopes were if I were lucky I would be able to see well enough but I honestly did not have high expectations of things being real sharp. WOW - The image was crystal clear - The mask was better than I expected. My prescription is a difficult and they nailed it, the RX was perfect! My husband and I have been on trips before where I used rented masks. I could see the larger fish but I could not see them well. Forget the small fish, I could not see them. Well this time - I saw it all.... Having never owned my own Rx mask it was such a thrill to finally see the world under the sea for the first time. Prescription Dive Masks is truly a life-saving company. I was in a real pinch. I realized that my vision was so bad I could not dive with contacts. Plus, not a good idea to dive with them anyway. I called down to La Mesa, CA. and they put a rush on my bi-focal order. they got my mask done the day before I left for our vacation, which was 3 days I believe. Now, that being said, I really don't recommend you wait until the last minute. For your benefit and for the benefit of the wonderful people who work at and run the shop. I called them to tell them how truly grateful I was that they went that extra mile to get my mask finished in time. Also, I didn't have time to try it out before leaving the next morning or before diving. When I hit the water the first time, I was blown away! I told them I think I see better underwater now than I do on land. I could read my gauges clear as a bell and all the controls on my underwater camera as well. Let me tell you there is a ton of buttons on my camera and the symbols are really pretty small. I was truly amazed at the high quality of their product. I also could just look forward right over the top part of the lens that enables me to see long distance and could see to maximum visibility distance perfectly clear as well. I couldn't even tell I was wearing a special mask. I see more negative effects looking through my glasses by far than I do through my mask. With my mask, I don't have any negative effects. Wow, super service and my mask is perfect for me! I called them based on ratings on Yelp. I had already been to their website and found it very informative and basically I had the whole order in online, but called anyway because I wasn't sure which mask would be best for my small head, and also because I had about 16 days before I was leaving and wanted to know if I could actually get the mask in time for my trip to Mexico. The woman on the phone helped me pick out a good mask based on what I wanted, and went through the fastest way to get the order fulfilled so I could be assured of having it before my deadline. My mask arrived in about 10 or 11 days, and it was gorgeous! I see as well with it as I do my glasses. I wear single prescription even though my prescription calls for bifocal or progressives, as my close sight is pretty good. It fit, never leaked, and I was able to basically take it out of its container and go. I found a bottle of National Geo anti-fog spray in my old kit (? no idea where I got it) and used it and no fogging either. Total cost was about $400 and having gone scubaing last year without it where I couldn't see the details of the huge rays drifting by and crabs under rocks and all the other glory under water, worth every penny. I had the opportunity to test out my new mask today over at the Blue Heron Bridge. I am so exhilarated at being able to actually see underwater for the first time!! I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to get their prescription in their mask. I was worried because I have a +7.50 in each eye and wear progressive lenses. They can even do a bifocal!!! The owner Linda was so kind to me and took her time to explain everything, and Diana was super nice and patient with me calling a million times to make sure I did everything right lol. When I got my mask back, I was worried because the lenses were thick (as I knew they would be) and I was worried the mask would bump against my eyes when underwater. I called them in a panic. Best customer service ever! Told me to try it out and if it didn't work they would redo it with no problem. Turns out, I'm a dum dum and had the mask on too tight! It's a high-quality mask and didn't need to be on so tight. And when I felt my eyes might be too close I breathed out through my nose like Linda suggested, worked like a charm. I have always snorkeled with contact lenses and a regular snorkel mask. I developed an eye disease so that I can no longer use contacts. For a couple years I wore contacts while snorkeling anyway and just dealt w/ the imperfect view. My husband found Prescription Dive Masks, and I sent them my prescription - with a very short time-frame before an upcoming vacation. We worked with Linda, who was so accommodating. Told her the model of mask I was using that fit well, and she suggested one of their models. Sent in my prescription, and did order expedited shipping because of our schedule. Mask arrived in time. When trying it on, at first it felt a little loose - then I realized it actually fit SO well there was no tightness or discomfort at all. Baptised it for the first time yesterday - it was absolutely awesome. No leaks at all, clear vision, comfortable. It was so awesome! I do believe they will put lenses into your own mask if you have one you like, but I didn't do that because of our short time frame. When the stars align... I was at Beneath the Sea expo in the NJ Meadowlands on April 1, 2016 and was hunting for a mask. I had a bad experience with an on-line purchase of a prescription mask. I was nervous. The rep at Tusa helped me find a mask that fit and recommended I visit the Prescription Dive Masks booth in the next aisle. I AM SO GLAD I DID!!! Linda Young checked the fit on the mask, she dotted my pupil centers and took all the measurements. I got a new prescription and sent a photo of it to her Tuesday. They had ordered my mask from Tusa, did the "see over" lenses to my individual prescription and I had my new mask the day before I left NY for Bonaire. Not only did the mask fit and leave room for smiles and laughter but I now have the sharpest vision underwater. Who knew fish had teeth? LOL. This experience has revealed a whole dimension that I was missing in my diving and I am so grateful to Linda and her company that took the time for me and did the most amazing job in a tight timeframe. I sent in two masks, with scripts, and markings. Worked great an within time frame we needed for shark diving in the Bahamas. We actually went to our optometrist office to have them mark the lenses correctly. With a one shot deal and the price investment, wanted to make sure the markings were correct from someone who measures glasses professionally. Keep in mind that the markings for regular glasses (bifocals) are different than what you would use under water. Everything came out good and no issues with the masks and visual fields. Bifocals were right where I needed for visualization of computer and still be able to see tiger sharks coming at us. Also easy to read GoPro camera screen. Also noted, I submitted for my FSA the price of the lenses and was reimbursed. If you have a FSA or HSA, check with your administrator to see if it is eligible. I found mixed information online. Since the lenses are basically prescription glasses, it was covered. Did not include the frame in the reimbursement, since that may be considered "sporting equipment" and not covered. read more

This business is the greatest. I sent in an old mask that I had gotten in Paris over 20 years ago that was no longer made but it was the only mask that fit me very well. The mask had old gauge readers that were put in when my eyes were much younger. The normal procedure would be to make 2 new faceplates so the new executive readers could be attached to the new plates. The problem was that the 2 lens' were molded into plastic and could not be removed. Linda called me and described the dilema.I told her that I really wanted to be able to use my old mask and could she do something to save the old mask and put in the new readers. Well,to make a long story short,she installed the new lens' on top of the old gauge readers and the result is fantastic. It will be very exciting to be able to see if what I am taking a video of is in focus,etc. not to mention being able to see my gauges easily. Thank you for such personal service Linda. read more

These guys and gals are the BEST! My husband and I have ordered multiple bifocal prescriptions with them over the years and we have been totally delighted with the results every single time. Last year I ordered another prescription in a hurry and the mask I sent them turned out to be a perfectly horrible mask for my face. It was hideously uncomfortable and leaked continuously, but I used it to dive for 2 weeks in Una Una because the prescription was so good. Linda and Bob just switched the plate from this awful mask to the skirt of my old wonderfully fitting mask for the cost of shipping the masks out and back. I sent my mask to Prescription Dive Mask, for a set of readers, prior to going on a couple of major dive trips. I talked with Linda over the phone and she assured me they could meet my timelines (Christmas rush time). I was contacted by Linda after they started working on my mask and told there was a problem with it. I quickly sent them another mask and they were still able to complete the work and have the mask sent back to me. I was in Fiji and have just returned from the Philippines. I sent in a mask for them to grind lenses for - I was a bit concerned due to the unique shape of the mask face piece and the small size of the mask. They processed my order in a timely fashion and had my mask back to me in the time frame promised. I just returned from a dive trip to Cook Islands with my new prescription dive mask - The quality of the optics is excellent! For the first time I can see everything clearly. This is my 2nd time using Prescription Dive Masks services. As we get older our eyesight changes. I enclosed my most recent doctor's prescription with my dive mask (upper lenses for far vision and lower for camera readings. I received it in less than a month and I was amazed at the vision that I will have on an upcoming month long trip to the Philippines. I was in desperate need of a dive mask with bifocal and located this Company on the Internet. My mask arrived in perfect time and works perfectly! I am so excited now for our trip to the Galapagos knowing that I will be able to actually see all the wonderful things while we're snorkeling! I just received my second prescription mask from Prescription Dive Masks and am just as pleased with this one as I was with the first one. Their work is exceptional. I have had prescription masks from other optical labs and the quality did not come close to the masks that I now have. Some other labs are wholesale only, but you can work directly with this lab, eliminating the middle man who is not trained in optics. This will let you get it right the first time. Have not dove yet with the mask. I ordered bi focal, tried them on. Great quality mask, the lenses could replace my everyday glassses. Super happy with the quality and the service. Web site was not the easiest to use in the process however got through the process. Much easier to have a current prescription and attach it as an email or speak directly to customer service who does a great job. Expensive but their placing my prescription just made all the difference in the world on a 3 week trip to French Polynesia. Their website can be confusing but I just called and they were very positive and responsive and stepped me through the process. I do recommend getting your own mask to ensure proper fit and comfort and then sending it in to have your prescription put in. Also just send a copy of your prescription with the mask and that will help prevent any mistakes in entering data into their forms. read more

I called PDM with my eye glass prescription and FEDX my mask out to them a day or 2 later. Linda said I would have the mask back within 5 business days and I did. I can see better with my mask then I can with my glasses. The bifocal is marked where I wanted. I don't have a line marking the bifocal in the line of sight like my other mask. I didn't have to do anything to the mask as far as cleaning. Warren told me it was cleaned and ready to dive. I'm happy and ready to dive. Thank you Linda and Warren! Great job ! read more
