Came here for Valentines day, [[HIGHLIGHT]]Brief hiccup with the entertainment but I am impressed with the vibes, quality of drinks and food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] GM was messaging my husband throughout despite changes in schedule. We had sangria and a glass of wine. Food wise, we had charcuterie cheese and arancini. The cheese was excellent, soft and creamy, and even the pickled vegetables that came with it were crispy and yummy. Salami was also so good! Arancini had a great saffron flavor. Menu is a bit reduced, but perfect for a lounge. Sangria was smooth and punchy and my husband liked his wine. Very well staffed and every time we looked up there was someone asking if we needed something. Will bring my coworkers back for happy hour since we work in the area! I can't underscore enough how excellent the service is!

Went here for a private event, and the staff were very friendly, the food was good, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere was pretty nice and comfortable, even with a lot of people there[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Can't speak about their drinks, since I don't drink, but other folks seemed to be enjoying them. Not much to complain about!

I've been going to and a fan of Press Club since they first opened in 2008! I've thrown birthdays here, celebrated friends' milestones, and now that I've moved back to the city, I've been coming every month for their live R&B events. SF is pretty casual - don't get me wrong, I love raging in jeans at an EDM fest and live in workout clothes, but I appreciate having a go-to place where I can get dressed up every now and then, sip on a glass of wine, and sing my heart out to live R&B from talented bands. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is sexy, elegant and chic, and it feels like an elevated space where you can show up and be seen in the best way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I usually bring different girlfriends each time, but I have gone alone too and just end up meeting new folks who've become friends and regulars here too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love wine and their wine is on the pricier side (a glass of Cab is around $25-$27 with tip). I haven't tried any of their dishes though. The staff is great - the manager even approached me and mentioned he's seen me at a few events, which made me feel really welcomed. If you're looking for more than just a glass of wine and want a full experience, I definitely recommend checking it out, especially on R&B nights.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute spot to hangout or grab a drink.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Although I haven't had the wine at this wine bar, I LOVE their BBC MARTINI! One of the best I've had. Will come here just for that. Limit is 2 per person. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upscale ambiance, friendly service and great drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also have a happy hour! Will definitely be back, cheers!

Food was great, service is phenomenal, and ambiance is amazing. You have to go. The price is decent. $14 for the cheapest glass of wine.

One of my visits to Press Club was on a Friday or Saturday evening, and the attire was definitely more cocktail attire. Another time, I went during the day before a Giants' game. I was more dressed up, but saw others wearing shorts and jeans, so I think you could go a little more casual during the day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is dark and romantic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. The wine and charcuterie boards are both delicious, and served quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was no pressure to leave.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The low seating is cozy, my only complaint is the oval tables don't fit all of the yummy things we ordered![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]One of my favorite wine bars in San Francisco is the Press Club the stylish underground wine bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great place to unwine and enjoy a good glass of wine in the evening[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . I came here for an European Affair to chat with the Bay Area Friends of Europe about the latest happenings in Europe and San Francisco. I had to represent my heritage for the motherland Spain ( but I'm a proud USA and San Franciscan by birth guy). Everybody represented here from France to the Ukraine. Lots of the chat was around the bitter and sometimes sweet European wine with a bit sampling of course. I am more of a Northern California wine person so I had to do compare and contrast testing myself. Of course my first go to red wine is Pinot Noir and it was from the Salad Bowl region of California called the " Gularte". On the Press Bar menu the red wine was described as "The passion and joy Hunter Pence brought to the SF Giants in 2012"(Yes, Yes, I know the feeling). Yes, it was a sip of joy. Had to school a few people about Reverend Pence and the 2012 Giants .After another glass of the Gularte, I then headed to get something from Southern France a red wine called Castelmaure Col des Vents and the Press Bar Menu called it " Pure Fun". It was fire in a glass. Then I had to have a toast tribute to the motherland Spain with a Madrid red wine called Zestos Old Vine Garnacha. The Press Bar menu described this as " creates a beat in your head. "So Fresh & So Clean, Clean, Clean" Had to get a refill. When you celebrate a traditional European Birthday don't you forget with all due respect The birthday boy or girl has to pay for all the drinks and pick up the bar check

    Pork adobo buns. Very tasty.

I came here recently for a social gathering of about a dozen people. It's a beautiful, large venue with different seating areas (high tops) & lounge style seating with sofas. Our group organizer had prepared two bottles of wine for us (one red & one white) & I opted for the white after hearing the description (it was a slightly fruity white wine from Portugal). After socializing for a while, I was feeling peckish & ordered the pork belly adobo buns. They were sooo yummy. The pork was cooked perfectly, I think there were thin garlic chips added for texture & flavor & the bun was pillowy soft. Our server was pretty friendly & helpful. I would return if I was in the area.

Solid place to have a quiet meal and drinks after work. I visited last week with two colleagues who were in town for a conference. As the local, I was given the task of finding a place where we could decompress and have a quiet work conversation. I could not think of a better place than the Press Club. There was almost no one there when we arrived around 5:15 pm, and they seated us at a long table in the middle of the dining area, where we could spread out our notebooks and laptops. The server was very good - he carefully listened to our needs and suggested the right drinks and appetizers. I ended up choosing a Sangiovese (strong, chewy mouthfeel) and we shared the following apps: - roasted fingerling potatoes: these hit the spot, especially when dipped in the smoked paprika dip it was served with (this was so flavorful we asked for another helping) - chilled roasted broccoli Romanesque and cauliflower: served with delicious Chimichurri and crushed almonds - pork rillette: a nice meaty portion, slathered with sour cherry relish and with crostini on the side (we got extra) - buttermilk bathed popcorn chicken: this was another generous portion, and served with spicy N'Duja mayo Service and ambience were superb (it got a bit noisier as the evening wore on) and they were kind enough to charge my colleagues laptop. Will be back.

We visited press club again last night and it really is my favorite bar, full stop. The hospitality here is like nothing else - Mo and the gang are the best bar staff I've ever known and I'm grateful they're here, grateful this wine list is so outstanding, and grateful for the moments spent with friends here over the years so far and to come. Most of the best bottles I've ever enjoyed have been here - there is such an array of unique and uncommon producers and grapes, something for everyone is on this list. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is so spacious, comfortable, and high-end, but the bottles run the full gamut on price and can be quite affordable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We toasted the opportunity to be here together at this moment in time and what a gift that is. Ps: order the tinned salmon! It's so good!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute lounge style wine bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Charcuterie and cheese plates were good but a little pricey. Great selection of wine though. [[HIGHLIGHT]]All in all it was cute but just a little expensive[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Always a treat to attend parties or just grabbing drinks with friends at Press Club. Located in the entertainment area of downtown SF. It's walking distance to everything you need. The inside is large but cozy with great vibes. The staff were very helpful. I needed a glass for my wine and utensils so they went all the way downstairs for it, leaving their station. Food is good too. Great display for the eyes. Generous portions for a large group. Their drink selections are vass.

Charging the $10 event fee on discretion before the posted event start time seems... shady? illegal? My two friends got in a few minutes before with no cover. I was dealing with a bike lock while they went in. We were not there for the event but rather as volunteers from the weekly cleanup refuse crew in the Mission. You get perks as a thank-you for doing your part in making the City a cleaner place. We had just had a lovely time at another participating business (Beehive) and planned on Arcana being our final stop. Thankfully I was able to use the restroom without a fee, with my gear held up outside by the security team. While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. Already reported to the Mayor's Office. Maybe I'll add BBB. Should be honest and equitable! Four out of 200+ reviews by me have been one star, so I rarely share negativity. It's all rather unfortunate as other visits here went off without an issue. I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .

The energy is vibrant without feeling overwhelming, and the noise level is just right. It's quiet enough to have a conversation and get lost in your own thoughts, but not so quiet that you feel awkward sitting in silence. Plus, the people watching was pretty entertaining, which definitely added to the experience. The three of us only tried two different wines. My friend ordered a glass of Masha, while my other friend and I both ordered the Los Chuchaquis. The verdict: Masha was really good. Good enough that a second glass was ordered! As for the Los Chuchaquis, I personally didn't love it. I found it a little too tannic and bitter for my taste. If you have a low tolerance for bitterness, this might not be the wine for you. That said, my friend, who ordered the same wine, absolutely loved it and thought it was delicious. So maybe I just ordered the wrong wine for my palate? ‍ Either way, the wine is only part of the experience. The energy here is fantastic, the bartender was welcoming and friendly, and the crowd was cheerful without being obnoxious, which I really appreciate. I'm not usually much of a night person, but I genuinely had a great time. It was one of those evenings that reminded me how nice it is to get out, enjoy good company, and simply soak in the atmosphere. I'm really glad I took my friends up on their offer to go out. Definitely a 5 star experience for the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. This seems to be such an interesting neighborhood. I'd love to come back and wander around, explore more, and discover what else this part of the city has to offer.
