With the number of businesses located in the Burlington area, lunch at Pressed turns into a spectacle, a sight to behold. A massive brightly lit dining room with an equally massive menu(pretty much spanning the entire width of the restaurant). Pressed features easily the longest sandwich list I've ever seen. Açaí bowls, wraps, soups, salads, smoothies, breakfast(all day), and the claim to fame juices. All fresh, all made to order, and of course tasty. As crazy as the lunch rush is, the line is pretty efficient. Pressed is loaded with healthy options, and although the price point may seem a little high, the portion sizes are every bit of justification. Pressed is a great option if looking for a casual "cafe" with healthy eats in the Burlington are. I really wanted this place to be "5 star all the way" because there's no reason it shouldn't be: they have plenty of staff, plenty of space, free wifi, all the basics. They have wonderful outdoor seating and a big, big menu that just about everyone I know (even those with gluten issues or vegans) could enjoy equally. But there are just a few details that bug me. . .like the salmon bagel I had for breakfast there today. It was completely generous in proportion and everything tasted fresh and great. . .but the plastic cutlery? I can't even begin to eat this sandwich with what they offer. And the little tag of paper that tells the kitchen what to prep: left behind, underneath the sandwich (open face). . .there's no reason for that. I am a huge fan of Pressed Cafe! I've visited this location over 50 times. The food is quick, satisfying and always yummy. Similar to a Panera but with better sandwiches and a middle eastern twist with some items in the menu like shakshuka. I almost always order the Ricky Martin burrito - as someone that is vegetarian I opt to take out the chicken and bacon and sub in tofu. It is so filling and overall a great burrito with a hint of spiciness from the cilantro spread. I also recommend the bruschetta panini, guacamole quinoa greens bowl, and the new vegan sweet and spicy kabob bowl as good veggie options. Tip: The pasta salad is to die for!! Make sure you get this as your side option because you really won't regret it. The smoothies and coffee here are also great. However I came here and ordered a salmon BLT ( that was great) Green Juice ( great) 2 overnight oats and 1 chia seed pudding. I live about 20 minutes away. Got everything to go. Put it in the fridge as soon as I got home. Had the sandwich that night. It was good. Also the pasta salad is great. However I noticed the overnight oats were very "wet" there was a lot of liquid on the top and it was very mushy. I tried it and it was awful. I threw it away. I am kicking myself for not taking a picture. I did save the receipt. I went back a few days later. I am usually here 1-2 times a week. I asked to speak to the manger and explained what happened. He said it was impossible for the overnight oats to be bad. I said I am a regular and get it all the time and he fought with me. I asked if he would replace the 2 of them and he said no. You lost a diehard customer over $12! I can tell you I spend about $40-$50 every time I come here and you wouldn't make a customer happy. Ordered online, our credit card was charged. Went to pick up 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready; they had no record of the order. Staff was apologetic and said they would expedite it, but told me they needed me to pay for it again. We were impressed with Pressed! For a "fast food" casual place, there are lots of good menu choices and they're made to order, so even our pickiest eater (there were 6 of us) was able to make himself a meal. Though we encountered a rather long and unruly line, we soon realized how it worked - take a menu, make your decisions, and they call whoever's ready to place their order, no need to wait while indecisive people linger at the counter trying to figure it out. Points for a smarter system than other places. Then you get a number and your meal is brought to your table. We were a group of mostly vegetarian eaters, lots of great choices. Two in our group had the eggplant parm quinoa bowl, which was prepared in a small cast iron pan, included spinach and quinoa, was served with bread, and pronounced delicious by both. I had the Jerusalem mezze plate, comprised of small portions of hummus, matbucha, chopped cukes/tomatoes, and several scoops of other tasty things (chickpeas, tahini, labneh, etc) of the type one might get in an Israeli cafe. In a little bag were 2 slices of a hearty country style bread, though I'd have expected pita for that selection. One person with several food sensitivities/allergies had a modified Mediterranean salmon bowl; another loved her macaroni and cheese (which I tasted, yum!). Known primarily for their paninis and burritos, they offer a large menu of food with tossed salads and "adult" macaroni and cheese. Quinoa power bowls are also popular and they feature a variety of proteins such as short ribs, chicken, salmon, and lobster. We ordered the short rib grilled cheese sandwich, beet and goat cheese salad with salmon added, the soup of the day, and a strawberry banana smoothie. I'm not exactly sure how to rate this place. On one hand, the options are great but on the other hand, the flavors were lacking. The short rib was dry and needed some seasoning and the salmon was cold and looked and tasted like it was made a day before. The added proteins were definitely not cooked to order. They initially brought out the fruit cup smoothie, which was quite thin and raised my suspicion that I had the wrong drink. The error was quickly corrected but unfortunately, my strawberry banana smoothie was bland and it lacked sweetness as there was too much ice in it. Nothing that we ordered was very good except the cane sugar soda. We'll probably give this place another try but after spending a good amount of money on a mediocre lunch, we were perplexed by the packed house and seemingly loyal following. It is located across the street from the Burlington mall and there is plenty of parking. For nice summer days I enjoy coming here with co workers for lunch or dinner outside on the patio.
