Googled..called and made an appointment and from the 1st time stepping foot in that office, I knew this was my spot! I go there now for all my cars needs and 100% recommend this shop. Katie and PK are super friendly and they are ALWAYS up front and real with you. The prices you cannot beat and the quality that the mechanics push out is GREAT!!

After inspecting the vehicle, I was told that I needed a new transmission and was quoted just under $9,000 for the repair. I reviewed the diagnostic report they provided, which mentioned battery issues, several transmission-related codes, and other findings. I paid $160 for the diagnostic and left. I then took my car to a shop that specializes in transmissions and came highly recommended by several people, including a Toyota specialist that does not focus on transmissions. After thoroughly inspecting the vehicle, they could not find any issues with the transmission and did not charge me for the inspection. I also had the battery checked again and was told there was nothing wrong with it. I had the fuel system cleaned as well, and my car has been running perfectly fine ever since. I would personally save your money and stay away from The Mechanic Spot!

After a tranny rebuild on a Tundra, which took them over a month to complete, my truck was back at this shop two additional times for continuing tranny problems. And guess what? Each time they kept it over a month! My truck sat at this garage for 3 out of the last 10 months! The shop is in total disarray. Poorest communication imaginable. I had to call and initiate communication every time. They never called with updates, apologies for continued delays, or notices that my truck was even ready. Please, please stay away.

My car was back in Rick's show numerous times for months at a time for the next year. I was told it was a head gasket, it was the catalytic converters and a few other things. In between visits to Rick's shop I took my car to two other transmission shops and I was told the same thing at both shops. Guess what that was.....the transmission is slipping. Rick refused to acknowledge this and refused to fix the problem. I was in a pickle as he was paid in cash. The agreement was if I paid cash I got a discount. On a $3,000+ job who would not want a discount??? I have since put a second transmission in the car from an honest transmission shop and the car is perfect now!

After after a bit I came back to give them a try and they totally won me back times a million. I had a truck with a crazy ghost issue and Israel worked on this truck diligently until he found it! Once again thanks to Israel for the amazing job and professionalism!

My husband broke down in Nashville Tennessee about 4 miles away from Specialized Truck Repair. He…read morecalled them to tow him in and to see what was wrong with his truck. They quoted him $709 to tow him 4 miles. When they got there the price went up to over $1000. That was the first red flag. Once there a tech looked it over and found that he needed completely new air compressor and all the hardware and hoses that goes with it. This was on a Monday morning. I called and asked for a parts list and to see what all we were looking at. They did not have one as of yet. I called on Tuesday to see if they had a parts list and an estimated time of when the repairs would be completed. I was told that they didn't have a parts list as of yet. I called back on Tuesday and was told that they didn't know what all they needed but they knew they needed an air compressor and a dryer and the hoses and seals and gaskets. I called MHC to see if they had the parts and how much they were going to be. MHC did have the parts there and could be picked up at any time. I call back to STR and tell them that MHC has all the parts they need and was told that I could go get the parts but they would not warranty them. I told them that I was just trying to help them get the parts so that my husband could get back in the road. In Wednesday they told me that they had a complete parts list and would order the parts as soon as we paid the parts deposit. They also said that the total bill would be around $4100. My husband went ahead and paid the whole bill and they were going to order the parts. On Thursday they said that the parts would be here after 2 and they could get started on it. On Friday they said that they would have the parts after 10:00 am and that a tech was starting right not. The repairs would be finished by the end of the day. At 5:00 the truck was still not finished and the techs were upset because they wanted to leave. They had to stay until after 6:00 to finish. Then we found out that he still couldn't leave because they had blocked his trailer in and everyone had left. We had to wait until Saturday morning to get someone to come in and move things so that he could get out. This was bad but we figured it's fixed and we will just never use them again. If only that were true. My husband started back to work on the following Monday. He drove on Tuesday and then on Wednesday the brand new air compressor that had just been put in had blown. So now he is on the side of the road again with the same problem he had before. He calls STR and finds out that they will not stand behind their work and blames it on the part. We get it to our mechanic and as soon as he looked it he immediately said that the problem was a mechanical error. The tech at STR had cross threaded the hose and used a used fitting instead of a new one. This caused the hose to loosen and to blow the new air compressor. So now we are down again and need the same repair done again. STR was called and the receptionist was extremely rude. She inform me to take it back to MHC where they got the part and make them swap it out. When I told her that it was not the part she informed me that their techs did nothing wrong. MHC told us that they had this problem with them before. I pulled out my invoice and saw that they had charged us $1800 for the air compressor when in reality it was only $1200. Wish that we had read the reviews before we used them but when you are sitting in the side of the road you just don't think of that. This business is not what it says it is. They will over charge you and their work is shody at best. Now here we are having to buy another air compressor. They charged us $78 for a gasket they didn't even buy. They used glue to try to make a gasket. They charged us for bolts $4 a piece that they could have gotten at Lowes for $1.38. These people are the worst. I would not recommend them to work on a Tonka truck much less a real one. All they will do is give you the runaround and then charge you by the minute for it. Might as well throw your money away. If I could I would rate it a negative-300 or more
