Not being from the area, I was forced to find the closest tire shop around. I called several stores in the area, but even on the phone, this place sounded like it was the best bet and ultimately felt like I made the right decision based on the end result and overall service I had here. Finding a shop that has the tire in stock for my car isn't always the easiest, and this place not only had it, but was easily offering the best price as well. Once there, they gave me an accurate estimate of how long it would take for them to get my car back to me and were good about going over anything else they saw while fixing the flat tire I had. I'd also say they got my car back faster than they originally promised, leaving very little wait in between dropping my car off and getting myself back on the road. With that said, the quality of service was fine and fair. Did what they needed to do and did it well. Which I am thankful for. I am just not happy about the prices, which in fairness anything related with vehicles is always going to be expensive. I ask for forgiveness on my part and hope this business continues to thrive! I knew I needed new tires before a long drive for a work trip and I'm so glad I found this place on Yelp! The staff was incredibly nice, and they even let me use this little cubicle space they have in their very spacious waiting area so I could work on my laptop without balancing it on my lap! Free WiFi and free coffee made getting my tires replaced during a work from home day an absolute breeze. On top of that, they had a great "back to school" sale happening for tire replacements and I was very glad to see their cost for tires was right on par for what I'd seen online and had quoted at other places. They also do LIFETIME flat fixes and tire balancing / rotation for free on the tires you purchase. I'm not sure if this is normal and I just haven't paid attention at other places, but I'm very impressed with them and I'll definitely take advantage! read more

When I called back, they denied everything and literally said "verbal promises mean nothing." No apology, no help, just complete denial. Worse -- they tried to sell me new tires, saying mine were bad. I went to Walmart the next day to double-check, and the staff there said my tires were perfectly fine. Every shop I ever went to for a flat fix used an AutoZone tire repair kit and a spray bottle (to look dfor bubbles). For $30-35 This place took a more logical and reliable approach. The tire is removed, the object is removed, the tire is patched from the inside, and the tire is mounted again. All for $44. I wish more shops stopped doing it the old way, which in today's world is a hack, something you do if you are stranded, and do things the more logical and reliable way. Kudos to Preston! read more

Well, this is a first. After church, I knew i needed to get my back tire checked and an oil change. As I was sitting here waiting and watching the clock, the owner came up and asked if I had eaten and literally handed me an entire fresh sub sandwich. They were eating lunch, and he allowed me to eat lunch, too. The sweet gal at the front was so pleasant and helpful, as well. I've sat and watched him wave, hand people water, he gave me another napkin...It has humbled me so much to be a recipient of his thoughtfulness and selfless humanity. Here he is at work on a Sunday afternoon - during a Cowboys football game, to boot - and he has chosen to be considerate and giving even on what, to most, would be a day they wish they were at home relaxing with their loved ones. And as I was leaving, he told me my check engine light had been on, but they checked everything to make sure I would be safe and that I was good to go. I highly recommend this business. I used to come here for my tire services. However, I will no longer support this business due to how they handled my daughter's situation. She took her car in for an oil change, and they noticed a leak. They offered to fix the leak. My daughter spent a good amount of money to have them fix it. Over $1000 if I understand correctly. She got the car back but after driving it for a week, she started to experience loss of power and a lot of engine noise. One day, the car wouldn't start, and we had a AAA guy come to check it out. He checked everything that he could think of and even replaced the battery. Eventually, he checked the oil level and found out that the engine did not have any oil! From what I can tell, it's possible that the connecting rods were damaged due to the sound it makes. There's no way the engine could have burned through so much oil in one week, nor did we notice any major leaks where my daughter parks her car. We reported this to the shop, and I personally went in to talk to the owner/manager. He would not own what happened and he tried to convince me that they put oil and the car just burned through all of it. Initially, he said they could fix it for a couple thousand dollars, but I refused. I spent quite some time discussing this issue and he even went so far as to make a bet with me that encouraged me to drive my own car for a mile without oil. He said if I could drive more than a mile, he will pay me $1000. Excuse me, but I am not stupid. Eventually, he offered to meet halfway by offering to install a new engine and we would only have to pay the cost. He promised to find an engine with lower miles but eventually, what he found was an engine with similar mileage for about $1600. After much thought and consideration, we declined and decided that the only way they can correct this was to repair it without further cost to us. I think the owner is very condescending when talking with his customers. I would not recommend this store to anyone I know after this incident. A word of advice to the owner, you can't always assume that your customers are ignorant about cars. You certainly can't treat them with disrespect when they try to hold you accountable for your work. I understand that you don't want to own this and fix the car. But I certainly hope this review will convince potential customers not to support your business. Edit: The reply from this store are all lies. I won't even address each one. The car did not have these issues until AFTER we brought it to you. This was not some ploy to have you replace a car engine with 168k miles. It was me trying to hold you accountable for your work. I provided the report AAA wrote when they inspected the car. In it, it states that the engine had no oil. Deny it all you want. However, we only drove it for less than a week and not even close to 500 miles. My daughter's work is only 3 miles away from home. Stop lying about driving it for 2 weeks because I already stated that we encountered problem after barely a week. Truly dishonest of you to leave such a reply online. We were having problems starting our Lexus SUV and assumed it was the battery. Since Preston Road Tire & Service is one of the few places that carry Interstate batteries, my husband took our SUV to get it diagnosed on October 27, 2023. Their diagnosis was that the battery was good but might need to be replaced in the near future but the problem was that the alternator was bad and needed to be replaced immediately. They quoted $1,185.54 to replace alternator, serpentine belt and labor. Based on their diagnosis, we had the alternator and serpentine belt replaced by a mobile mechanic. Upon finishing, he advised taking the alternator that he removed to get it checked to ensure that it was truly bad. He said it looked quite new and was a good brand of alternator. Within 2 days, we again started having issues starting the SUV. We took the SUV to Auto Zone and had them do a diagnostics. The alternator that we just had replaced showed good (it was brand new) but the battery needed to be replaced plus the battery cable was loose which was also causing issues. At that time we also had them check the alternator that was previously removed from our SUV and that Preston Road Tire & Service diagnosed as bad. Their diagnostics showed the alternator was good. We later took this alternator to another Auto Zone and O'Reilly Auto Parts. Their diagnostics also showed the alternator as being good. We did replace the battery and have had no further issues since then. We wrote the owner of Preston Road Tire and Service, Ms. Roxanne Nowak, on December 28, 2023 regarding the issues with the wrong diagnosis on the alternator that had caused us to spend unnecessarily on a part that was diagnosed by other auto parts places as good. We highlighted that had we allowed Preston Tire & Service to replace the alternator, we would have been out over $1,100 and would never have know that the alternator was actually in good shape. We actually wonder if they would have left the same alternator in and just charged us for a new one. Additionally, we would have had to spend another $300+ to replace the battery as that was the culprit and not the alternator. It's difficult to determine what went wrong - whether their diagnostic machine is defective or the testing was not done right. Regardless we ended up paying over $500 for an alternator that was not needed. We never heard back from Ms. Nowak for an explanation or what she intended to do regarding our concerns and request for reimbursement. I would be cautious in relying on their diagnostics and would suggest others get a 2nd opinion before agreeing to any repairs on a vehicle. read more

I had to get a jump on my Lexus GX 460 and took it to autozone and an orielys to do a battery and alternator check. Both told me I had a bad alternator. I called Preston Road to get a quote and I was quoted for an alternator which is much more pricey than a battery. I told them I wanted to shop more and explained I have two college kids and on a tight budget. The store manager Nardin asked how I knew it was an alternator issue. I told him my story and he told me to bring the car in and he would do a free system check and at least get me in the right direction. They did the check FREE and discovered it was a bad battery. I gave them the business for their generosity but they didn't even try to sell me anything. Just pure kindness! Highly recommend this location. When I was able to finally leave after no updates, no info, no questions or comments on the process; they tried to charge 800$ out of the blue and ordered parts I didn't ask for them to order. The battery, the fan belt and one other item on my car all at once . I had to get back to work and Nardin was able to help ! Thought I would use my Goodyear Credit card and run in for an oil change on my day off. WRONG. I'm 53, female, single. I'm told my brakes are "metal on metal", I'll need front and rear brakes, two new tires, oh, and there is an oil leak which requires we remove the transmission to get to it. It'll cost $2100.00 As a non mechanic, know- nothing about cars, they saw me coming. I have my car there and feel pressure to make my car safe-- it's the only car I have. Then, after the work is done, I start thinking that I haven't seen any oil in my garage or any other spot I've parked. My brakes don't make noise or work poorly, as if it Was metal on metal.
