If I could leave a minus Star Review I would. Decided to try Take 5 today. I thought it was a simple oil change and now I'm worried about anything and everything they may have touched. I spent an hour and 18 mins there and it is the first time I have texted my mechanic, DURING the oil change, asking him if they should be removing parts from my truck and then asked him to come check my truck AFTER an oil change. I dread to know how many pounds of torque are on that plug and how many bolts they stripped on my skid plate. 3 people went under my truck. One to change the oil, one to fix/correct the first guy, and then the last guy to do "checks"? As time ticked away, many other workers looking at the first guy under my truck and trying to avoid eye contact with me. Not one time did a manager come to explain what was happening nor the guy who did a great job taking my payment. I get that all vehicles are different, I get that people are new, I get problems happening, however, not only was it a LONG process, one that I don't trust, but they also left a mess on my truck. Had to get my truck washed after using Take 5 from fluids on the side and hand prints on my hood. Came here last Saturday for a state inspection. Love that you can wait in your car. They offered to water while we waited which was a nice touch. Once I was able to pull up for my inspection, the guys doing the inspection were quick and efficient. I even told one of them "wow that was super quick." Their "10-minute oil change" promise is broken here. Justin, the store manager, saved the day. He came over upon returning from lunch and had the van in front if me pulled out to fix the situation, and covered my oil change. Sadly, after I left a stellar review for an oil change on Google, I drove home from frisco to the Denton area, and half way home, my car started vibrating loudly and making some scary noises. The oil light came on and when I got home, all of the oil had leaked out of my car due to a misplaced gasket. I'm hoping it didn't ruin my engine. A little context to my review. I've been going to dealerships mostly so am used to long waits. Due to a variety of time constraints I decided to try out take 5 this time. I've seen lines at this place so I made an appointment. When I got there I wasn't sure how the appointment system works because none of the lanes was marked and all the lanes were filled except one so i pulled in. I'm not sure how they would have accommodated me if there was a line of cars here. Once I got in it was really smooth. The staff was nice and polite, and my oil change got taken care of pretty easily. They didn't try to upsell me on the oil but did recommend my cabin and engine air filters be changed. I do these myself and I knew there were due and the cost of replacements, but their quoted price plus discount was worth the extra for the convenience for me. Based on my experience this round I would come back although I am not going to come during busy times. It actually costs slightly more than getting my oil change at the dealership but the time and location make it worth the extra 15 bucks. I did drop a star for the appointment system. Just don't offer appointments or have an appointments only lane so its clear what to do. read more

Save yourself and your car the headache! They didn't secure my skid plate after my oil change. The very same day driving down the tollway it dropped and drug on the concrete. By the time I could pull over safely it was crumpled. I tried to call several times they wouldn't answer. Called NTTA and they removed the plate. Had to drive there since they don't answer their phones to let them know what happened. Edwin who was very apologetic and concerned said he would make sure the manager knew and would follow up in 3 days. 3 days came and went no follow up. So I called a couple times and left voicemails. No calls were returned. So I drove up there again. When I asked to speak with the manager he came out and immediately asks if I was the one with the Skid Plate. When I said I was he said he submitted the paperwork and they would reach out to schedule my repairs through a dealership. After over a month I never saw an email. So I drove up there again and Edwin was there to greet me. He was shocked I was not taken care of. He said the previous manager was no longer with them so I could talk to the new one. The new person (Kelly, I think...) said they submitted the claim but it was denied and there was nothing he could do. I said that was absurd. How can you come to that conclusion? She said he didn't that they submitted the paperwork and some on that end denied my claim and that ppl make claims all the time. So I went through the story of what happened to him and all he could do was clarify claim was denied. I was not taking NO for an answer. They DID THIS AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR LACK OF QUALITY WORKMANSHIP. So I called the HQ on the website. Waited over 38 min to get someone on the phone. When I did he proceeded to tell me that they NEVER MADE A CLAIM!!! and that the district manager will call me in 5 days. And that's where I am now. Little faith he will call but I'll be a thorn in their side until I receive justice and an apology for the hell I've been put through. read more

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! NEVER GO TO TAKE YOUR OIL CHANGE AT TAKE 5! This location in PARTICULAR, however I wouldn't recommend any after this. I have had oil changes quicker with no mistake. I'm writing this review very late, but in November I took my car to get an oil change and two days later, I have no oil in my engine because the person neglected to close the gasket, and no one checked his work on top of that. I'm not going to give out that employees name, however I asked him to have his manager me, because Take 5 customer service said I would need them to fix the issue. None of the phone numbers work, all dead lines, probably because they have angry customers that call constantly. I'm done seeking for compensation for my experience, instead I would appreciate that no one ever goes through this, because I was left stranded 2 hours away from home and just had to pay my losses since they take pride and value in taking money from their customers than taking care of their customers. read more

I keep coming back because this seems to be the norm for oil change places these days, but the experience is consistently frustrating. I've waited over two hours before, and on one occasion, I waited only to be told they didn't have the right filter in stock. The process could be more organized--maybe a single-file line around the building would help. It doesn't seem fair to be delayed just because a vehicle in the bay you chose is taking extra long. If you've got 2-3 hours to spare, this might work for you--but be prepared, because their system seems to be down about half the time I visit as well. read more

Edward was so personable and friendly while he took care of our car! We didn't even need to get out of our car! Eli and Francisco also did very good in the actual oil change. This location has only been open a month! When the boyfriend and I came here just after noon,there was no lines so we got seen very quickly. They topped off our water and coolant,replaced our oil plug and reset out tire pressure to 38 and washed our windows. These guys are great from start to finish! read more

One of the guys will bring you a water bottle upon pulling up and direct you to the correct lane needed to ensure prompt service. They move fast and efficiently. No complaints. Literally the slowest Oil Change process and customer service is bad. They had all 3 lanes open and the wait time was still almost two hours. One lane had about an hour wait time which meant cars in the other lanes waiting over an hour had to watch other cars that came after them get service before them. My fiance took her Lexus ES300H in on 5/25/23 to take 5 for an oil change. Oil change (#0429) in Frisco Texas at 12:05 PM. The tech did not insert a new air filter after removing the old one, he also did not re connect the air filter hose leaving it and the screws to be thrown around the engine bay. The tech also over filled her engine by 3 quarts. I have pictures from another mechanic shop that had to take out 3 quarts and as you know (or maybe dont know) over filling the oil can be just as damaging as driving without enough oil. This is ridiculous enough as it is. But wait, there's more - I go back to the shop on 5/30/23 at approx.12:20 PM (Had to take off of work for this mind you) to get a refund. The manager said the tech did NOT overiflll the oil and that he watched the security footage. He did admit after reviewing the tape that his tech forgot to put the air filter in and he was sorry and could offer us store credit. NO we dont want store credit. We insisted on a refund. "oh thats done at corporate and it takes 4-6 weeks" that's ridicilous too but okay we'll take it. He said "someone at corporate will reach out to you via email or phone that you provided to issue the refund" Its now 6/13/23 NO ONE has reached out to us. NO ONE has responded. I have been calling the shop where this happened at to get the manager and its ALWAYS going to vm. I called the call center they tried to connect me, NOTHING. I had the call center request a call back for me, NOTHING. The call center suggested i go to the website and submit a contact request. I did, it wouldn't let me submit the claim! What a joke of a company. I am spending entirely too much time on this at this point. We want a refund and we want it now. Someone needs to contact us, I tried working with you all before a public review. It's sad it takes a review these days to get a company to do what's right. I would NOT recommend this place to my friends and family let alone my own worst enemy. read more

Twenty min wait in back of line, didn't even see inspector, for employee to tell me they won't inspect my car because tint "looks" too high. I've gone to this same place for the last two years with no problem and this is the first time in eight years having my car I've been told this. The most I could give would be 3 stars, even if service was quick and good. There were no prices listed online for their service. I figured it'd be around $80, and a friend just had a great experience at another Take 5. There are three bays here and all three were occupied, and two of the bays had a car waiting, so I got behind the single car. I I was there for 36 minutes before the car ahead of me was finished and pulled out. Then I pulled in and they asked me to wait, which I did for about five more minutes. That's when I saw the prices. $100 for 5 quarts, but my van takes six. With taxes that's $120. Even that may have been worth it if I could've got in and out of there in 10 minutes or so. I was frustrated that I waited about 36 minutes to find out the prices, and was not looking forward to sitting there for 20 more minutes or so, which is how long it seemed it took each car to go through. I know we always pay more for convenience, but paying $80 for a service to be done in one hour (which includes the time waiting behind the first car) and $40 for oil just wasn't worth it to me. Also, it'd be cool if they had all the cars in one line and move to the open bay on a 1st come 1st serve basis. While I was waiting on the car in front of me, another bay finished the car that was being serviced when I got there AND the car after that finished before I could even get in to see the prices. I'd've given 5 stars if ~$90 and fast I'd've given 4 stars if under ~$90 and took under 1 hour. I'd given 3 stars if good and fast service at $120 (current price including tax and 1qt extra) I'd given 2 stars if $80 and slow. I gave 1 star because it is neither well priced or fast service. read more

I went with my daughter to get her oil changed on Valentine's Day...paid for full synthetic. The technician was more concerned about her having ZERO coolant on her car and wanted to to a coolant flush and proceeded to tell us that the radiator could be messed up bc of this, but he wasn't allowed to take the cap off to look without us doing the service. We just got this car from Kia in December. I told them we just wanted the oil change. Come to find out, if we got an oil change, we did not get a full oil change since the dip stick showed nothing on it. After discussing this with a friend, they stated that this happened to them and to their son. I do not recommend this place based on our experience and hearing about two other similar issues. read more

I normally bring my cars here to get my oil changed and it runs smoothly. However, today when I arrived for a state inspection, things did not go so well. When I pulled in I immediately informed them I needed a state inspection with NO Oil Change. I sat there for about 10 minutes and finally someone asked about an oil change and again I said no ONLY state inspection. I then paid for the inspection and was informed I needed to pull the car around to the side. I pulled to side as instructed behind a car and waited. The attendant outside informed me I should back up and let a second car in. This car was ahead of me in "the line". I said that was not possible because I have already been waiting 20 minutes and all the other cars that were ahead of me were gone. I was then instructed to pull the car back inside to a bay (where I started) so they could now START the inspection. Almost 40 minutes later, with very few customers there, I'm done.
