Please do not come to this location. Me and my husband have been loyal to this location since we moved to the area in 2021. We will no longer be servicing our vehicles here. They told my husband they would charge over $200 for an oil change. Conveniently they "lost" our information in their system and couldn't pull our previous car information when we told them we've never been charged a price that high. And conveniently the link they send with the quote isn't available anymore for me to attach to this review. I wish the Auto business would realize that tons of people are looking for a "home" ....and when you start raising prices with no explanation, and are not honest from the jump....you lose clients. The Manager or owner- not sure which- eventually came over and agreed with my husband that the price was incorrect. Interesting. No honesty or integrity at this location. I had been going to this Kwik Kar location on Legacy for about 10 years and received good service and reasonable pricing. There has been an ownership change and I have been very disappointed with the decline of service quality. I had my vehicle in for a 90k checkup and when I picked it up the brakes seemed soft and after traveling about one mile, my left rear tire rolled past me as my car dropped on the axle. Fortunately it was in my neighborhood traveling at about 20 mph so no severe damage. They came to my location, secured the tire and drove it back to the shop. I mentioned the brake issue and they check and said the brake work hadn't been finished. I spoke to the owner's representative and shared my situation. No concession was offered but that they had staff issues and were correcting them. I asked who was the best mechanic at that location and a name was shared. Wanted to give them a second chance so took my wife's ES-350 for 60k maintenance and ask for that specific mechanic. He was no longer working there. They remembered me from the earlier incident and when i ask for a courtesy discount they gave me one-hour off of a 3 hour job on the ball joints ($125) + $20. I expected more. They may improve their staffing and customer service but I'm concerned the customer-focused shop that I knew is now more profit-focused. Looking for recommendations for local shop that is more customer friendly. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change & they said that there was a part that was broken on it that was $1000. I was scared and had them change it & it never worked properly again. I broke down on the side of the road & they refused to help. I took it to a repair shop and they overfilled it w/ oil & the part that they said was broken they didn't fix. Plus the belt they said they replaced they didn't have the right tools to even work on my car with. After almost $10,000 later I have a lawsuit starting. I was talking to a guy in the shop when I was there and he said they overfilled his car w/ oil too. They r terrible! I would tell everyone I know NOT to go there! No, I do not recommend this site. Went in two months ago and had a diagnostic test done under a different ownership. It cost me $150 to find out it was my gas cap. He said he replaced some aging brittle hoses. I went in today, new ownership, and asked for an oil change. He provided me with the most expensive oil change without asking me and told me my car required multiple little things which added up to $487. I paid for only the costly oil change. read more

NEVER GO TO THE KWIK KAR OFF OF LEGACY DR IN FRISCO TX . I came in for an oil change, they come to me and start showing me parts that i don't even think came off of my car.. they tell me all this stuff is wrong with it i just tell them to fix it, they finished i paid over 1000$ the manager said " if the check engine light comes on again just come back " it came on again. My car started shaking and making sounds and had a funny smell, i am on my way to the kwik kar and there's a red light.. My car COMPLETELY breaks down.. I called them and told them to come get the car.. They start it and tell me " drive it back to the shop " I said i was not going to drive it.. So one of the workers Justin drove it back and we rode with him.. this takes 3+ hours, my kids missed school.. They come back saying they toke a test drive and i was " All set " I start driving.. same thing happens luckily i was close enough to the shop to get it there without having to call them, I said i was not paying anymore then i already have, i have never ever had a problem with my car, this takes another 3+ hours they tell me " There's nothing else we can do " I said they better fix my car, They did not. They left it sitting in the front of the shop.. This is without a doubt an honest, fairly priced, and reliable auto-repair shop. My vehicle overheated on the way to the mall, and luckily this place was a couple businesses down the street. Not only did the gentleman working there (Miguel) get me in and out in the same day, but one of the other mechanics showed me exactly what was going on with my thermostat, its housing, and why the parts cost what they did. This was the second time I've visited Kwik Kar for a state inspection and just as they did last year, they did a great job. I pulled up and was greeted outside asking about the services needed. I was then told where to park and what information would be needed inside for the state inspection. Upon entry, there were a few people inside the waiting area. I was greeted and checked in quickly. The woman that checked me in was kind and friendly. I was told that my car would be next to be inspected. I sat in the waiting room area while my car was inspected. The waiting room area is a nice size and was clean. I waited about 25 minutes and then my name was called to relay that my car was ready for pickup. I was pleased with the quick, thorough, and friendly service. I would recommend this location and will visit again. read more

Asked price for an oil change for my BMW. Was quoted $74 for full synthetic which was a good price. When they completed the work the woman who quoted me suddenly said it was $103. When I asked why the price she quoted me was not honored, she claimed the price did not include the filter. I asked the price for the oil change. Then she claimed my car took 5.2 quarts which was more - apparently $30 more for .2 quarts. Ultimately she said she could discount me for $93. The money was never the issue, I hate being hustled by a business. The $103 would have even been fair if they had just said so to begin with. Never going back. read more

Owning a business is difficult. You have the demands of customers and staff. You are reliant on people to always perform at their best and reasonably correct things when something maybe didn't go right. The owner of Kwik Kar Auto Center Josh Alluri is the a real life example of how to NOT RUN A BUSINESS. My family brought our daughter's Jeep in for an oil change. We've only gone to the dealership for services to this point, but it was only an oil change, had limited time, and close by. The resulting events are numerous and caution to all to never use this business for even the slighted of services. While only needing an oil change, I stayed with my daughter's car to do some work calls. The service tech approached me in the lobby and said he wanted to show me something. There appeared to be a possible leak in one of the coolant hoses. He showed me. I trusted him. And said to replace it. While the job was going to take longer, that was fine. It appeared it needed replacing. They ended up replacing it, and did the oil change. We picked it up in the evening. My daughter drove it the next day to a track meet. About 10 miles away. She noticed right away that something wasn't right with the car. As a 16 year old, she even knew something felt wrong. She called us, said a bunch of "oil service" lights were on, and some other things. She was scared. I told her to pull over. My wife and I went to pick her up (wife brought her to track) and I hopped in to drive the car. I didn't get a mile and knew immediately something was wrong. I pulled over. Popped the hood. There was NO COOLANT in the container. What they attempted to "fix" was in fact not fixed. At the time, I thought they just forgot to put coolant in, which alone is a huge oversight. I called our insurance and had roadside assistance bring it back Kwik Kar (2 hour wait). Once at Kwik Kar, a different employee examined things and told me he was going to be straight with me and said they messed up. They didn't fasten the claps on the hose correctly and all of the coolant leaked out. All he said they would do was fix that. And apologized. I'm not a mechanic, but I do know that if you drive a vehicle for long without coolant there's risk of other damages to the engine. This was my biggest concern given this is my daughter's vehicle. He said he would look it over. He then called to say that in fact the coolant "container" had a leak. Not the hoses they replaced. But the container. So their initial diagnoses was wrong. By now I've talked to the dealership and plan to bring the car there for repairs. But before I could, without my permission, they replaced the container! And then actually tried to charge me for it! I came in for an oil change, and got hoses put on that I didn't needed, got a container replaced that I didn't ask for, got other damage that's still be assessed, and was asked to pay for the thing they "fixed" that I didn't trust them to do. And here's the best part. I tell all of this to Josh Alluri the owner. The lead service tech at the store gave me his number. All he says is that he will reimburse me for the container. Is has nothing to do with the cost of the container! It has everything to do with all of the errors that led to the container, and the likely future issues the Jeep may now have because of those errors! He says his "fine print" lays out everything in terms of their guarantees. Like I'm asking for that? Says I can't drive it (it doesn't drive. The "oil change required" light and the start/stop unavailable service stop/start system" light both come on now.) or he can't prove that the warning lights weren't the result of something while driving it. We've put on less than a mile since leaving the dealership. Just the drive home. Josh hasn't returned multiple calls now. And, I'll be bringing it to my dealership, hopefully working something out with my insurance (Jeep is under extended warranty), and getting the vehicle fixed correctly this time. Stay away. The staff is clearly not fans of Josh either as they were trying to cover their butts regarding the gaffs and tried to avoid getting to a point of me calling the owner. These guys are great! I took my car in for a check engine light. The guy puts it on his mini-computer, and it takes minutes to figure out what's wrong He tells me, if we want... we can do a full diagnostic (~$100.00). However, he googled it. He said there's a lot of the same issue w/ my version of this car. He recommended I take it to the dealer... the part was on recall... Several thousand dollars SAVED! That's ALWAYS 5 STAR service! BTW... another mechanic told me it would cost $5000.00 to do the work... and never mentioned it would be under recall notice! Employee wouldn't redeem the yelp check in offer for $10 off. The employee behind the counter informed me it was synthetic oil only even though the offer doesn't state that anywhere. Also was slow as molasses and if course they tried the usual up sell tactics, which is expected at these sort of places. I used to bring my other car here quite a bit and the service used to be decent, so I'm not sure what happened. If you look at the other reviews, this is obviously a recurring theme. Wow! I am very disappointed in myself for not coming here sooner and wasting so much time over the last four years going to Firestone on Main or the dealership for oil changes. First off, Angie at the front desk, who did check in and check out was absolutely delightful. And she was consistently wonderful with every customer who came in while I waited. I actually downloaded a couple of Netflix shows, brought a book to read, and a local paper because I am so used to waiting hours to get an oil change. As I realized that they pulled my car up right after check in to start my oil change and tire rotation, I thought to myself "better not start watching a show". I couldn't believe it! In and out in 30 minutes or so. I also have a fleet car and Angie quickly dealt with that while other places I have been can't figure it out, which is weird because I have to take my car to an approved vendor. Anyway, not a chance that I will take my car anywhere else to get service in the future. What a great experience! P.S. It's a fleet car so I don't pay, but I do see the receipt and the prices for both services were great. read more

I really liked going to this location because it was convenient and I never sensed I was being duped into anything I didn't need. My last 3 visits have changed my mind completely. I brought my truck in for an oil change and the technician said oil was leaking and it needed a new "oil cover because oil is completely leaking out" Cost? $400. The truck is old and has been sitting for a while so I decided to hold off on the repair and see if I had oil spots in the driveway. I haven't and the truck is holding pressure and not leaking. Strike One. I took my car in a few weeks later for an oil change since we would be traveling for the holiday. This time I got " you need an engine flush, power steering flush, and brake line flush for an additional $289. The technician said he would take $50 off and I gave them the benefit of the doubt since the car has 110 k miles. Exactly a week later I experienced a severe vibration in the engine. I took it to Kwik Kar again since it is so close and that I had a free engine light reading offer from them. He called several hours later and said I needed a catalytic converter, oxygen sensor, and a few other items totaling almost $2500. I knew this couldn't be right and I surprised them the first thing next morning and said I would be picking up my car. The tech said I would have to pay $109 diagnostic testing fee which I refused as I never authorized him to do so outside of the code reader service. He finally agreed but was pushing hard for me to "not drive the car as it could get really bad" I could tell by his demeanor that this was complete bs. I went to Autozone and got a free check engine light scan which SURPRISE, SURPRISE! came back with a common misfire. Nothing about Catalytic converter or O2 sensors. Strike two. Not surprisingly the photo of the code readout from Autozone keeps being removed but if you would like to see it feel free to dm me. In the end all it needed was a tuneup, ignition coils replaced, new spark plugs and a new valve cover gasket. The person I had work on the car for the actual repair also said it didn't appear the work that was supposed to have been done (the multiple flushes it supposedly needed) other then the oil change was actually done. Strike Three. I can only imagine what they would have wanted to charge me for the valve cover gasket repair, but I'm sure it would have been A LOT. One can only deduce that the technician I dealt with is either completely inept at his job, or a fraud who tries to bilk you out of hard earned dollars by telling you that your car needs unnecessary services or repairs. I'm betting on the ladder if not a combination of the two. I will never return to this establishment after 3 years of loyalty and I would recommend that you shouldn't bring your car there either. read more

I got here early morning as soon as they opened for an oil change and inspection. The staff was friendly and even offered us complimentary donuts! We were in and out in an hour. They blast the AC in their waiting area which is great to combat the Texas heat and has a water dispenser for clients while they wait and a restroom. read more

I am not sure what the deal is but I use to like this place a lot. I took my sons car this morning for an oil change. I asked the services guy how much is for an oil change. He couldn't tell me a straight answer but he gave me a rough estimate. So I walked inside to speak with sales and it showed $54 dollars on the counter. So I decided to go head and do it. Services guys comes to me and tells me I need air filters. So again never a straight number. I ended up paying $90 for filters that later I found online for $15 each. I can keep going on and on but basically they overcharged me and I hope they actually put the new filter. I only saw him replace one and not the other. Thanks for the weird experience. read more

Yelp coupon is worthless, they won't honor it. The folks working in the back are great, they know what they are doing. However their services are overpriced tand every time I bring any of the cars, they always recommend all kinds flushes, filter changes, wiper blade changes etc... it's like a patter with them to make you spend extra. The lady at the front was super inattentive, not helpful at all. She took my number down said she'd call me when my oil change is done. Never received a call so when I showed up and the place was closed and my car was stuck inside all night. Also my apartment key is on my car keys that they have so I had to call my apartment to get in to take care of my dog. Tried to gouge us on changing two lightbulbs over the license plate. $10 per bulb and one hour labor for about $130. Autozone - $5 for two bulbs, a YouTube video and it took about 5 minutes! Makes us wonder if we've been gouged all the times we've taken our cars there.! read more

First time at THIS kwik Kar however regularly go to one closer although I believe they are franchise owned. Went in for an oil change mid day- week day so not busy and was welcomed and assisted quickly. While waiting an associate came with my cabin air filter and showed that it needed to be replaced. I was there that day with another person who was also getting an oil change who also moments before had been approached by a different associate who told him the cost of his filter and showed him the old and new filter. My associate simply showed me the dirty filter and the filter he'd replace it with so I obliged..... Now I was never told the cost and after my associate left I asked my friend what his cost and he said they told him about $20 so I didn't question it. 1....they should have told me the cost...2...I should have asked. At checkout I noticed a $38 oil change is now a total bill over $100. I asked to see the breakdown and the air filter replacement was a charge of $50+ I saw the filter they were putting in and it was not a top of the line filter as I've also replaced my filter in the past as well as had the dealer do it and other shops. So not my first air filter rodeo. I asked why on earth a filter I could buy the BEST filter for at a parts store for $15 would be charged over $50. They explained labor was included which again I understand.....now this was a cheap air filter they were putting in so they are getting this much less than $15 + at their cost (not retail) adding labor.....what an upsell!!! I declined the filter and asked that they replace my old filter (this is not difficult) to save myself $40 and know I'd get a quality filter on my own. Upon later contact from the shop I was told they had a base cost for filters....so I'm confused why mine wasn't close to the $20 my friend was charged....then I was told they charge the amount they do to stay just under what a dealer would charge. So....I called my dealer and they only wanted $14 more for a genuine part...... My worry is those unfamiliar with their parts or what the true cost of parts/labor are will be taken for on whatever else they are up selling on such a huge percentage. I personally don't go to a small oil change business to save that little vs going to my dealer and getting a quality part plus the perk of a free car wash and maybe some popcorn. Definitely won't be back and will get the word out that there are better kwik Kars out there that don't do this. To each their own as always. read more
